I was 13 wen i was turned onto the mothers milk cassette and chads been in my top 3 all time drummers since my first listen to that tape.
The way he described his feelings of the Harvey and the Wilcox record is oddly very similar to how mothers milk blew my mind and opened an escape route from mtv 80s hair metal into punk rock funk and alternative genres .
A friend matt bellinger who went on to be the bassist for the post hardcore band Planes Mistaken for Stars is responsible for turning me onto mothers milk and bands like misfits cramps black flag d.r.i. metallica and my lifelong love for music in general .
I heard matt passed away a few years ago .
Nowadays i am a decent drummer and i still love all the bands that my friend turned me onto at that summer camp wen we were 13.
R.i.p.matt bellinger and thank you for impacting my life so much in one brief summer .
Its Always a damn good thing to see Chad still enthusiastic full of life and going out playing n talking about music.
