      Yeah, for 3000% more than it costs in plastic. $0.07 worth of plastic for this drive would cost you $60+ from shapeways. $20+ from 3Dhubs.

      *256 gigabytes. 280 would be a waste of storing space since the next bigger one would be 2^9 = 512.

    fidget toys are actually really cool!! theres way more than just bearings though, so if you did make another print, maybe you could use a different version. that tiny usb seems really impractical but!! very cool design

    just a suggestion, extrude cut a couple millimeters around the edges of the caps so when you use a flash drive you can put the cap over the other so it won't get lost

      Fidget toys are a great way for autistic people or people with anxiety, or basically anyone with attention problems to help stay focused/calm in stressful situations!

    I would just like to point out that fidgets actually do have a purpose. I'm a special education major and we use these if a student can't focus or stay still when needed. It helps focus the energy used to fidget in some non-helpful form into a small motion that helps the rest of the energy be used to do whatever we need the student to do. They can also comfort a student when they are stressed, as they have a physical object to manipulate.
    I actually use several different forms of fidgets in my different classes that aren't disruptive to those around me so that I can focus in class and actually learn.

    How could you make the caps for the drives so that you don't loose them when you take them off? Can you connect them to the back end of the other cap somehow? That way while you are using your USB you don't misplace or loose the cap. That happened to me before.

      He could make it so those finger notches (9:30, the ones to make it easy to spin) have flat outsides to accept the cap.

    this gave me a super rad idea, do the same type of thing, but with a short charging cord for your phone, or just another port where you can plug a cord into. I'm not sure it would work but I really want to try it!

    Nice functional toy. It would probably be good to make havier at the outside. For example, you could search for some kind of small metall parts to add into the design.

    If you gave the caps that keep the bearing in place notches or bumps, you could spin it when it's plugged in.

    You should make a website for all the top 3D printed things you've made. Since people would want different color and materials it would expand your designs and give you an excuse to stock up on as much materials as possible. Make a request box or post poles in social media and let people vote on what they want in the store.
