    Great job on the coop gate, Lori! That's my kind of fix it - it works! I am amazed at the different situations that come up and how either the critters work it out on their own - the hen guarding the chicks from the kitten, or you and/or the kids figure out a solution - the hens attacking the babies and one hen and chick needing to be moved - all done in a quick, coordinated effort. Bravo to all of you! Oh, and Lori has a great sense of humor too! 🤣 Hope the week at camp was awesome and no doubt Aaron held down the fort at home, new baby possums included. Looking forward to next week's adventures. God bless. Kelly

    That other hen got a first hand look at what happens if mama feels like her chicks are threatened so she knew she better proceed with caution. That was a sight to behold, the ferocity of a mother defending her babies. Pecky Lou said no roosters will come within 10 feet of my girls!
    Great job on fixing the coop gate!
    Those opossums are adorable, we don’t have them here in Colorado but I wouldn’t mind having them around. For the first time in about 12 years we have a skunk that comes by while making its rounds looking for leftover cat food and birdseed, I know I’m crazy but it’s one of my favorite visitors. Fortunately he come so late our dog door is shut so fingers crossed 🤞🏼 there will be no issue, that might become a problem this winter when it gets dark in the middle of the afternoon. I am not a fan of the raccoons visiting because they can be so viscous. Tonight I went to bring the cat food in and there was a big one, they usually run immediately but bt his one turned around, that stopped me in my tracks! Once I started telling it to git and clapped my hands it ran off but they sure do give me pause.
    The other afternoon we had 3 bucks come visit. In our front yard we built a wishing well with a pond and flowers in it and they all stopped for a drink because it was so hot. We always get deer visitors but not usually in the middle of the day. Our new neighbor is an avid hunter and he is upset that the one buck is untouchable being in the city limits. Last year I was joking with him and told him the only way he can shoot him is with a camera. Depending how you count the antlers he either has 6 points or 12, I guess east coast counts both and somewhere in the middle of the country it changes to counting only one side.
    I love the marmalade joke!
    Have a great time at music camp and I pray you have a safe trip. I also pray that everything goes smoothly for Aaron while y’all are gone. I love your family and how you are all so helpful and kind. I wish I had grown up like your kids, it looks so fun, a lot of responsibilities but fun.
    I don’t know much about the boys home Aaron runs but could the boys help repair the gates and fences as needed? They could work on carpentry skills. I don’t know how it works etc but that’s what came to mind.
    ~Leanne 💕

    • @AllCreaturesFarmandRescue
      @AllCreaturesFarmandRescue  Před rokem

      Hi Leanne! Sounds like you get to watch a BIG beautiful buck, how special! We rarely see the bucks here, and typically they only have 3 or 4 points per side. The boys at Aaron’s school could help, but we try to keep home life separate from work life, for Aaron’s sanity! Plus, I want our kids to know how to work well, so I’m glad we have projects to do. Thank you for praying for the camp, it all went well! ❤️

    Awww, I agree - it is adorable to see the momma who adopted those sweet little chicks and seeing them hop on her back. You know for a fact that the momma is in heaven having all of those little sweet babies so close to her. Precious momma moments! The piggies were in fine form in this video, haha! They really can be very loud!
    I had to chuckle when you mentioned the other momma with the one chick could possibly have a rooster baby. It reminded me of a friend of mine who had chickens when they lived on a rural property and when one of their hens hatched out some babies, she said that 3 of the 4 were roosters. Their next decision was changing the second "o" to an "a". Rooster to roaster!
    During the part of the video when Fynn is ]feeding pear to Croissant and the piggies, there is a body of water in the background (13:35 mark). Is that a lake and do you have access to it on your property? What a dream location your farm is in! It's such pretty property (which I recognize didn't just "happen") that you live on.
    *My joke to you*
    Q: Did you hear about the dog who got in trouble with the police when she gave birth to her puppies on the sidewalk?
    A: _She was ticketed for littering_

      @AllCreaturesFarmandRescue  Před rokem

      LOL!!! Great joke! We’ll have to use that one when we have puppies someday! 😆 The water behind us is called Bull Shoals. It’s technically a lake, but it looks like a wide river. The kids can walk down by a path to swim/kayak/fish. It’s a great place for them to play! We moved here from CA over 20 years ago, and we are so thankful God plopped us down in this spot!

    My sister had Nubian goats. She had a fiber farm so she had the goats for the hair but my goodness they had good milk; it was as sweet as cow’s milk. Of course, goat milk needs to be drunk when it is fresh, it starts to get “goaty” if it sits for a while but goats milk can be used for bottle feeding for almost any animal. The purchase of some milk goats might save you money on formula. Just a suggestion.
