- As Christians, we are on the escape out of the valley of this world. For many, their love grows cold as they replace the best for that which is just good. They stop fighting the fight of faith and drift backward. Yet as believers, we often are imperfect in our escape. We must remember that we run the race with our eyes on the Lord, and God our Father who is not ashamed of us, even in all of our weaknesses.

At 59 and having been through many valleys I've learned it is there I will meet Jesus in a way that I find Him nowhere else.
I've seen His Deliverance and His Power, His Love, His Purpose for me, so many many things in the valleys that the valleys are not dreaded so much by me now, but as difficult as something may be at the time I have a peace and a knowledge that what will come after will be worth every hurt, every tear, every struggle.
At my weakest He Is I AM. At my lowest He Is my Father. At my worst He Is My Savior, Christ Jesus, my Lord.
Aww, what a sweet post. I am your same age, and I too am learning that the valley's come with an ever growing faith, with a challenge from God that says, "trust me, and watch what I do". Love Him, He is my life. A life of faith is SO sweet.

As a man He has had to break me of thinking of myself for anything, in anyway. He has brought me to the understanding that He created all by His Word, all consists and exists by His Word, all is subjected to His Word, all will be subjected to His Word. As for me I can do nothing apart from Him Declaring it to be. All things in. Heaven and earth will glorify Him and Him Alone!
How I've tried and how He has humbled me. No matter my strength or knowledge, my will or determination, it is vain and useless. Even will be cursed. It cannot be blessed. Some one may admire or applaud but if it isn't by His Word, faith, it is doomed! And I've got many stories for examples.
Yes, faith. Maybe you will understand this: my efforts bring me into the lowest valley but there I find again all I'm ever to have had, the revelation knowledge of Jesus Christ, The Word of God Made Manifest, and faith in Him, all He Spoke, what He Wills. As for me? I'm a steward that must and only abide in Him and apart from Him I'm nothing. I can do nothing.
As a man this is difficult for the flesh. To be broken and helpless but I'm so thankful my Father is a real Father! His chastisement and correction, His discipline, His Breaking me over and over, putting me in the refiners furnace was His Faithful Love for me! Was Him bringing me to submission and trust and abiding in Him and His Word! Made acceptable to be in His Presence, made one with Him, made in the Likeness of His Precious Son Jesus, the Word made flesh to show the Will of the Father to a dark and fallen world.
There is The Word and Will of God and not anything else. There is what He Spoke and nothing else. All I can do is abide in Him, His Word, What ever He Has Spoken and enjoy all He Is.
I've got nothing for Him. Oh how I have tried. I can say to Him "Thank You for letting me know You and Making me something You Can use. I'll try to stay out of Your Way.and let You Have whatsoever You Will". And "Yes and amen, as the Lord Has Spoken, Yes and Amen".

And trust me, while I'm sure as a man, being broken is definitely a bitter pill, for a (former) strong willed lady, it wasn't any better! But as you know, once we realize the prize that we will receive when we let Him have his way with us, it is worth ALL the pain..... So glad you found the TRUE life in Christ, and not just the "lip service" kind. I look forward to meeting you some day brother. :)

Edit: I looked at more of him. Must say despite being conservative he is less godly than much of the American Left. He condones sex before marriage, lust, swearing, pride, and finally, he stated the Joker movie was a good film even though it is very much so not something a Christian should watch. I guess I answered my own question

It's so easy to sing praise to our Lord when everything is good, and our health is good, we have all our needs meet, family and friends are near
But how are you when everyone leaves you, you lose your home, children, then your body is full of pain and sickness, now how do we praise Him
Read and understand the book of Job and then you will get a understanding of who our God is because unless we are purified by His fire we really are not His where we can walk as one with Him
But its good when His work is finished in us because now we can sit and just worship Him all the days of our lives

Please pray for me. I deliberately rejected Christ for so long, almost a year. I was a professing Christian for about 1 year, and I walked away with the intention to get saved later, and to just enjoy sin for a little while. I was an apostate and now I am scared that with the amount of light i have been given I might commit the unforgivable sin. My issue is that I don't want to surrender my sin. I know I can't do it without God but I dont want God. I wish I wanted God, but I'm not sure if that feeling is genuine or not. I still love sin and I wish I didnt love my sin, I'm not sure if this feeling is sincere or genuine. I've been praying for God to make me hate my sin, but I'm not sure if those prayers are sincere or genuine. Please pray that my desire for salvation becomes genuine and sincere and that I get saved.

I am the one who renounced Christ a second time, and have learned my lesson, and am repenting but God is not forgiving me.
I can only hope my sin is like that of Judah's, when God sent them into exile for 70 years to give the land back its Sabbaths which Judah had broken, but GOD EVENTUALLY RESTORED THEM to their land!
I sinned so atrociously I must suffer affliction for a season, (hopefully) that I may learn not to blaspheme, or deny Christ, but that He WILL COME BACK to me! Otherwise His Grace is NOT greater than my sin. Once I felt Him lovingly telling me (long before I denied Him), after I repented of cursing at Him, "You're not getting rid of me." SO lovingly. I guess if He does NOT come back to me HE IS A LIAR, and Christ never lies so... Do I have hope of restoration?
Unless the reprobate apostate, who denied Christ (a second time) in front of 2,000 people, who ended up saying, in his torment, that HE HATED GOD and his heart wanted to get above Him. I wanna love God, and be loved by Him, but... JESUS WILL NOT FORGIVE ME!!!! In fact He is making it harder and harder for me to believe and repent the longer I beg forgiveness. Sometimes it seems God's Spirit comes and goes and comes and goes. I have days when I can believe and pray to Him, and I have days when my heart is hard and unbelieving. What is God doing to me? Is this His way of treating me how I treated Him when HE wanted just to love me?
You have ignored my past 6 attempts to contact you, so I expect you probably won't even read this, let alone pray for me. In this crummy universe where love is cardboard box, clannish-style. Wen it gets to difficult to love me, you just throw me into the shit-can, like Jesus has apparently done to me. Sheesh, Dear Jesus, if You will not forgive me, can you please let me achieve all my dreams so that you, like Babylon in Revelation, can make my lake of fire as much of a hell possible? I mean, God, if you are letting me live on, instead of striking me down, after I have committed the great transgression, what is your reason? Fattening me up to make my damnation as hot as possible? Waiting for the day when you can strike me down and all the world can see me suffering under your revenging hand so that others may be saved wen they see you exact your vengeance upon me?
I am disappointed in your love, Jesus. You could not endure with ME to the end, so You cast me into the trash, when you once tenderly loved me. God, YOU are totally good and holy and just. I sinned. I confess IT WAS ALL MY FAULT, but... Wish YOUR Grace would be greater than MY sin! Why are you choosing to vindicate your justice upon me, instead of getting SATISFACTION in punishing my sins in JESUS, and delighting in mercy in forgiving me, as Your Word says. In showing in your sovereign will you CAN forgive a sin that would otherwise be unpardonable.
I think back on my days as an innocent child, delighting in life. Watching cartoons and playing games with my brother and cousins. The wonder of discovering life as a child, and going to 1st grade... Who'd've thunk back then I'd be going to burn forever under God's hatred and wrath. (Unless I am gladly mistaken.)
Why I cannot believe in Calvinism: God COULD save the world, everyone in it, but chooses to save a few. He is NOT BOUND TO SAVE ANYONE. He can justly damn us all. But... "To Him that knoweth to good and doeth it not, to Him it is SIN."
Oh,. wait, I just remembered, when God damns a sinner He IS doing good, so, whether He saves me or damns me e is GOOD. I truly believe that. Doesn't mean I'm going to be praising God when I'm swimming in burning brimstone, or, maybe I will. I need Jesus in my life! ANYTHING I can get of Jesus! I hate atheism, and this rampant sexual smut of today's filthy generation of fags and child molesters and fornicators.
If Jesus is not going to forgive me, I cannot function. How in the hell do you live knowing a vast ocean of fire and brimstone has your name in it, knowing He who lovingly created you now HATES AND DETESTS you? I get SSI and disability, and food stamps, so at least praise God I can sleep all days and stay up all night playing computer chess. Maybe I need to take up drinking, to forget the torment, but I do not think meth could comfort my torment.
Once night last year (when my torment was relentless) I rode my bicycle past a stroke-stricken beggar panhandling for money. I felt God saying to me in His wrath, "THAT is going to be YOU ONE DAY, when I TAKE AWAY YOUR MEDICARE, YOU are going to be BEGGING FOR MONEY to be able to afford your medication!"
I still remember that dire impression in my spirit, after begging Jesus to forgive me for renouncing Him: "Tho you repent for 1,000 years I will NEVER forgive you!"
When the Devil tormented John Bunyon, John Bunyon always KNEW it was the Tempter. NEVER ONCE DID the Devil impersonate the Spirit of God, deep with in John Bunyon's spirit!
I wish I could go back in time and have two days to see Jesus and fall down at His feet and beg forgiveness. Either that or I wish I could go back to June, 2017, when I used to feel that SUCH-LOVE both from and FOR Christ
There are consequences to sin, but if we confess our sins, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 Repent and continue on with you life knowing that NOTHING will separate you from the love of God that is in Christ Jesus. Romans 8:38-39
Anything other than that is a LIE from the depths of hell, and you need to rebuke that in the name of Jesus!
If your sin was as bad as you say it is, you'd be STRUCK dead already.
I usually say if there's breath in your lungs, then there's hope. The very fact that your heart longs for God's love means you're still His. The feelings you have could be from a condemned heart. But I know you're still His. If you've asked for forgiveness, then He's forgiven you. May His love become a waking reality once more.
