  • I have been hunting with the Tetra AlphaShield Multi-Pursuits for nearly 1.5 years as of this review. They are the most advanced electronic hearing protection technology I have ever encountered. They do not just protect your hearing, they allow you to hear the hunt, and they enhance the unique sounds made by ducks, geese, turkeys, deer, pheasants, elk, and more. You can hear the game you are hunting BETTER when using the Tetra’s. And you can hear all the other sounds of the hunt. They can also boost the volume to account for hearing loss, and they instantly protect your ears whenever you shoot a gun. They also have settings specifically designed to help with sporting clays and a new land management audio profile.

    I was drawn to Tetra to help me with waterfowl hunting because of how much the volume of magnum shotgun shells was hurting my ears. They revolutionized hunting for me. I have worn them on every single hunt over the last year and change. I have hunted ducks, geese, turkeys, deer, pheasants, crows, and more with them. I have even archery hunted with them because they can improve my ability to hear deer sounds. By just tapping on the side, I can cycle through all the different audio profiles for the game I hunt. I recommend these to all hunters of all ages who use firearms. And to any hunter who has experienced any measure of hearing loss. Tetra provided the devices I tested in this video at my request, thanks to them for their support. I have since bought my own Tetras.
    When you order Tetra’s you take a short hearing test online and they will custom tune the devices to your actual hearing in each ear. So they are perfected calibrated for your ears. They are built upon high grade hearing aids with their patented technology to recognize and boost game sounds while also recognizing and filtering out sounds you do not want to hear, like wind noise. And of course, one of the founders is an ear doctor. I think they are better than the 3m, Walkers, Howard Leight, Cabelas, Zohan, Peltor, ISOtunes, Caldwell, and others.

      Thanks so much Jonathan. I am actually planning a video to that same effect! The tough part is the tungsten category, because that contains so many mixes, blends, alloyed, etc. It's hard to compare thing some time. But it is in my plan.

      @@TheNewHuntersGuide I know shooting that stuff is expensive, and others have shot pattern tests before. I was just hoping for a video on your results and experiences. That way the expense could be bypassed. I really do enjoy your style and delivery for this channel. It’s quite down to earth.

      @@TheNewHuntersGuide You mentioned that you got the molds done at Sam’s Club. The nearest audiologist they (Tetra) list is 2+ hours away but there’s a Sam’s Club locally. How did you get molds done there?

    Love the videos! Do you have the waterfowl version or the multipurpose? Hunt a little bit of everything but would be great to buy the 750 version over the 1600 multipurpose. Seems like from this video you’re getting multi game benefits out of the waterfowl version but just wanting to check. Thanks!

    I need these, badly. I have been using the cheap walkers versions, but they stink. Which exactly did you buy? They start at 700 but go up from there.

    • @TheNewHuntersGuide
      @TheNewHuntersGuide  Před 2 lety

      So I got the Multipursuits that were $1500 last year, I think they are $1600 now. I hunt many things though, from ducks to deer to upland game, and lots of turkeys. If you are getting the cheaper ones then I think the Waterfowl one is the best all around. The Tetra's are drastically better than the Walkers.

    14:26, dude good video but seriously you should have led with that...They cost as much as a good firearm.

    • @TheNewHuntersGuide
      @TheNewHuntersGuide  Před rokem +2

      No, it's important for people to understand how important and valuable this is without tuning out when they hear the price. They need to hear whats possible and that they can hunt unhindered. They are also only 1/4 the cost of the comparable hearing aids they will need if they do nothing. To many bird hunters end up with serious issues related to and stemming from hearing loss. The risk of dementia and other diseases increases by 300% for people who lose too much hearing in the middle of their lives. I don't care if people buy Tetra's or not, it's not my company, but the message is one of the most important ones in the hunting world today. I think it's also the most ignored message. People acknowledge firearms safety and even hunting in the water safety, but hearing protection is snickered at. Till they spend fortunes in hearing aids and loose decades of quality of life due to those snickers.

    If I'm using a call will that be amplified in my ears?

    • @TheNewHuntersGuide
      @TheNewHuntersGuide  Před rokem +1

      Calls sound like normal until you exceed the safe volume threshold at which point the volume is lowered to safe levels to protect your ears. Then as soon as you finish calling, the volume level comes right back to normal levels, all in a split second. I was shocked at how often I was calling too loudly, especially with turkey and goose calls.

      @@TheNewHuntersGuide So if you wanted insurance then you would have to spend even more money on a already extremely expensive item. I've already looked into several gunshot cancelling and noise amplifying headsets that are a fraction of the price and would be much harder to accidently loose. I think I would probably just go with those.
