Have no idea which one you've never used live but just wanted to say that I have the same first generation Digitech JamMan and I still like that looper. As for how many pedals is enough, I think the correct answer is however many you need to get the sound you are hearing in your head/heart. Some people can do that with their guitar and an amp... others may need a few dozen pedals.
Yeah, the JamMan still rocks! My band is a 3 piece, and I have used that pedal a bunch to help keep the sound full. Thanks for checking out this video!
