    How far back are records (Hi/lo temp, humidity, wind speed) retained for? Are these only for the past year or for as long as the monitor is powered on / has a battery in it?
    Meaning if nothing happened to the monitor, and the record high temp ever recorded was 6 years ago, would this record temp reading and date be retained?
    Additional question is are these record high/low readings stored/visible at all from the La Crosse View app? Or only on the monitor itself?

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  Před 2 měsíci +1

      Great questions! The V61 station has varying levels of history based on the data point. Temp and humidity highs and lows are all-time records (since the display was powered on or last reset). Wind speed records include top speeds for the past 24 hours, 7 days, 1 month, and 1 year. And your rainfall history offers totals for the past 1-hour, 24 hours, 7 days, 1 month, 1 year, and total since the station was power on or last reset. For more details regarding the station's data history and functions, check out the full manual here: bit.ly/v61_092921
      The La Crosse View app will give you access to current data, daily highs and lows, graphs and charts where you can view up to 24 hours of data for free (30-days with a paid subscription), and data exports via XML files (24 hours for free and up to 365 days with a paid subscription). This is true for all of your connected devices, indoor displays, outdoor sensors, and add-on sensors for monitoring other areas of your home. The app also lets you set an unlimited number of alert (sent free via push notifications) for nearly any data point measured. Additional alerting functions are coming soon as well. @@lacrossetechnology thanks! a couple of additional questions.
      is the battery in the monitor intended to retain weather data in the event the monitor is unplugged temporarily? Meaning as long as the monitor has a battery in it (and batttery has a charge), if you unplug the unit, while the display won't work, will all the weather sensor data captured by the unit prior to it being unplugged (such as all time highs and lows) be retained and display again once the monitor is plugged in? Or would you lose all weather sensor data and all record highs and lows once the monitor is unplugged even if it has a battery in it?
      Also, if the monitor is unplugged, when you plug it back in will it just power up and work according to previous configuration? Or do you need to re-configure the entire system and re-pair to wifi each time you unplug the unit?
      Thank you!

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  Před 2 měsíci +1

      @@rhangartner The coin cell battery will only retain your main menu settings and Wi-Fi configuration (these will refresh automatically once power is restored). Unfortunately, all sensor history on the station will be lost upon losing AC power. Though sensor data will not be tracked during a power outage, previous history will be maintained via the La Crosse View app, assuming the station is regularly connected to Wi-Fi.

    • @rhangartner
      @rhangartner Před měsícem

      @@lacrossetechnology Thanks for the additional information. I'm assuming the V41 and V42 wifi pro stations are the same in this regard, meaning if they lose power, any all time high/low records in the console would be wiped out?
      If so that's unfortunate. La Crosse should really look into incorporating a micro sd card slot or some internal memory in their future consoles to retain the all time high/low records in the event of a power outage / or if you need to relocate the console to a different location. It wouldn't need to retain ALL sensor data, just the all time high/low records and date/timestamp. That wouldn't require much storage space at all. Honestly these stations would be perfect for me if not for that one flaw.

    How does this compare to the V42?

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  Před 4 měsíci

      Beyond the visual LCD elements, the V42 and V61 offer similar features but have different sensor components. The V42 features our newer Cyclone Sensor, which captures wind and rain data. It also has a separate Temp/Humidity sensor for slightly more accurate outdoor readings. The V61 comes with our Breeze Pro sensor for wind, temperature, and humidity values and a separate rain gauge sensor. The V61 does have a couple of additional benefits, such as barometric pressure values and a full add-on sensor section on the LCD --ideal for things like water leak sensors, pool sensors, or additional temp/humidity sensors for monitoring additional areas around your home (freezers, basements, garages, etc). But of course, these add-on sensors are available as pass-through options for data and alerts in your La Crosse View app with any of our Wi-Fi-connected models.
      Either model is an excellent choice for weather enthusiasts; it just comes down to personal preference in terms of LCD visuals, mounting, and add-on sensor use cases. @lacrossetechnology  Před 2 lety +1

      Both our V50 and V61 models offer many similar features, however, our latest V61 does come with an included rain gauge and all of our latest sensors and internal design updates. The V50 does support an add-on rain gauge (sold separately), but this will appear in the Extra Sensor section and offer no historical rain values like the newer V61 display (though both units offer the same history records in the La Crosse View app). The V61 also features a greater emphasis on your forecast predictions, putting them in the center of the screen and adding Moon Phase and an Amount of Precipitation Graph. To better compare the two products, looking at their full manuals and product pages can be helpful:

    • @lacrossetechnology
      @lacrossetechnology  Před rokem

      Hi Pheara, assuming you do not have alerts set and triggered, this is most often caused by a sensor losing and then regaining connection with the display. Low batteries (even without a low battery icon), distance, or interference could all be factors. To correct this, remove the batteries from each sensor one at a time until the display ceases to beep, making sure to give enough time for the display to beep after the batteries have been removed. This process should help indicate which sensor is causing the issue. After this, try installing a new set of alkaline batteries into that sensor to see if the beeping begins again. The biggest issue with this and many other items that use WiFi, is they need the 2.4GHz band to set up and can't use the 5GHz band. On my Orbi mesh system it is extremely hard to lock out the 5GHz band to set items like this up. So even though it is duel band, the unit will not lock on to the 2.4GHz band. Really a pain

      @@lacrossetechnology Thank you for your quick reply. Unfortunately I have an older Weather Station and when I hit Set & Plus I do not get the beeps. Your Weather Station worked well until I updated the WIFI in my home and unfortunately I have never been able to connect since. I know the best answer is to upgrade to you new V61, but I see those are not instock. You show that the Costco one is the same one, but the one at Costco does not have the solar panel on the wind speed part.

      @@billb4894 No problem! We're always here to help. And speaking of which, before purchasing anything new we'd recommend reaching out to our support staff via the links in our previous comment. There's a good chance they will be able to help get things synced up again. But if you are interested in something new, this V61 will be available online through Costco soon. We will be sure to keep this video description and comments updated once it is available.

    Hello La Crosse Technology wondering why your social media team they deleted my recent complaint or inquiry? i know that the HQ of your company read the comments or posts here on you tube and i think is a fault of respect what they did it to me and is un-professional even not to try to reply me to give excuses or go to the extra mile to help a customer that has bought lot of products from your company. Probably if they delete again my message i will complaint to the Federal Trade Commission or Better Business Bureau Sincerely ;Lenny
