Elise, you're too kind! I'm not a teacher but I enjoy learning new things. I have been hooked on learning Arduino and Raspberry Pi as I encourage my own kids to get involved in programming and building while they are young. Thank you for taking the time to watch it and leave a comment - I appreciate it!
i got this for christmas. So yesterday i decided to set mine up and i can tell im really gonna love knowing the weather during hurrican season From June through november so i can make better decisions on when to catch large mouth bass. Thanks for making this vid.
Just Tom, Thanks for the comment! Hopefully I didn't get too lost in the weeds and say something incorrect. I will say that this weather station has been great. We had it throughout the winter and currently have it today at the end of May. It has never been off more than a degree or 2 with the local weather reports. A few times during the winter I noticed it will say it's raining or expects rain in the morning when it's overcast but it may be picking up moisture in the location outside??? just a thought. I think all the sensors work well so far and I only had to reboot it once about 1 week after I got it. I thank you for your time watching the video. Enjoy the rest of the weekend and take care! 😁
The Humidity is usually Always off on Outdoor stations. It's pretty well stated online if you search it. The only ones that I found have correct Humidity is the more expensive stations.
It's not bad. I'm not looking for a 100% accuracy. If I'm away and the phone app shows a steep increase in humidity and decrease in temp then I know it rained, and that has always been correct. On dry days It is usually close to what the local news says it is. It gives reasonably reliable humidity readings, especially when considering trends and general conditions. it's a keeper! 👍
I never really considered buying a weather station like this...until now! It's very convenient to have because we are always asking each other "is it cold outside?" - well, now we know 😉 Happy New Year to each of you - Thanks for watching!
😀Maybe the inventors of that mini weather station should put the following message on it about needing to avoid Shireens who might become confused while not used to that much light coming from a little box. Warning: When using this weather station regularly some people might start to believe you are an alien.
Thanks for posting. Great job. One thing: does this product come with a smartphone app? I enjoyed your review of the La Crosse tech v15 - which has smartphone capability. Please let me know. I appreciate it. thanks again.
Hi there! Thanks for the compliment, I appreciate it. The weather station in this video from 2020 does not have an online app. It makes up for it in accuracy an reliability. It is still a fantastic weather station which we used every day. We currently use the La Crosse weather station with the online app and forecast and it comes in handy if you have a garden, flowers, or anything else that is weather sensitive outside. If you have anymore questions about either models, I'll be happy to answer them. Hope you have a great day! 👍 -brad
@@BMonsterLaboratory Thanks for getting back to me. Are you referring/recommending the v15? I want to monitor the conditions at a house I own in the mountains. Want to check in on the place from afar.
@@rayyeager Yes, the La Crosse Technology Model: V15. The app is nice and provides a graph of the sensor history. You can also add some upgrades to it such as wind speed and rain sensor. I would recommend this one without hesitation. www.lacrossetechnology.com/products/v15-wi-fi-multiday-forecast-color-station#parts
Hi there! Yes, there are systems like this. The KestrelMet 6000 Cellular Weather Station updates via cellular network every 15min, but boy is it expensive. I've never used it. The ECOWITT WH6006E Weather Station is much cheaper and doesn't have a stellar review. It sends SMS updates to your phone. I haven't used either of these but I'd like more info on the KestrelMet. You usually get what you pay for with tech like this.
Hi Kenneth! Thanks for the comment. Being fairly new to CZcams, I appreciate feedback like this. This weather station really is neat. If you ever have a question about this model, I'll do my best to answer it. Thanks for subscribing and I look forward to hearing from ya again! 👍
Hi Therese! I can think of 3 things. 1. fresh batteries in your outdoor sensor. 2. remove the battery cover and press the "tx" button. You should hear the weather station beep when you do this. 3. make sure you're within range. If you have multiple concrete walls between the sensor and the indoor monitor, interference will be an issue. I made another video with a model that is a bit different. This one has a phone app as well. See here if you're interested - czcams.com/video/XALu-xlnsMA/video.html I hope that helps!
I wish all the pretty digital/atomic wall clocks didn't all need an outlet. The ones by battery don't have a backlight. Anyways, great descriptive video.
I live in Australia and was sent this model from a friend in USA and as we use a different power(240v) the unit would only work using batteries and as a reselt, the backlight wouldn't stay on. What I did was use a USB cord that connected to a USB hub( a 6 port tower - 5v) and this solved the problem. Love the display and I use the auto dim feature (9pm-6am). The moon phases and season pictures all relate to USA climate.. LOL..but I can live with that.
Hi there! Sorry to hear that. Have you ever been able to sync to the clock? I looked up your model and it looks similar to ours - not sure about the options or buttons it may have though. The one in the video is now just over a year old and still going strong. If/when ours doesn't work any longer we will definitely get another one from there. I've had multiple interactions with La Crosse and they are very professional and courteous. If you gave the tech support a call perhaps they could help? Best of luck to you and Happy New Year!
Hi Levi. I didn't get a rain sensor but I might with the next model I buy. Will def get a wind sensor. The model in this video doesn't support a rain sensor. Happy New Year!
Hi Scottie! The monitor is not an outdoor monitor. Just keep the sensor and sensor housing outside. Still use mine and it's working great. Hope that helps!

Received this model for Christmas and really like it, however, in the top left section, where the barometer reading is, I have mine cycling through where it gives the sensor temp as well. When that sensor temp comes up, it is about 7 - 10 degrees colder than the Outdoor temp in the large Outdoor section. The temp that flashes in the top left corner is definitely more accurate. So, do you have any idea why my outdoor temp and humidity is way off? Already called Lacrosse, and am waiting for a call back. For instance, this morning around 7:00, it was around 33 outside, and the flashing sensor temp showed 33, but the large Outdoor display said it was 42, which was definitely off. Thanks for any help, if you have any, while I wait for their support to get back to me.
Hi CoastalJeepJK, Do you have model S77925? I don't recall that option on mine, but it's entirely possible that I missed it. Here's what I would do. Bring your sensor inside for the night. Let it stabilize inside and perhaps dry off if there is condensation somewhere inside. Put it back outside in a dry location out of the sun tomorrow morning and see what the temp is when you come back for the day. I'm not a technician for La Crosse but...I'm wondering if you have some condensation that's messing with your sensor - just my guess. Do you happen to have a sensor protection shield? I think those are excellent and I wouldn't hesitate to get another one If I had to buy a new monitor. If you don't have one, how are you mounting your sensor? Is there any chance water could get directly to it?
Im wondering why there is a temp on the top left of your screen. Maybe this is for an extra sensor you have and that cycling temperature indicates the temp for additional sensors?
@@BMonsterLaboratory Hopefully they will get back to me today. The rotating temp in the top left is the correct temp, because I have my original sensor for my old model next to it. If I don't hear back from them today, I will try that over the weekend. Yes it is the same model. In the instructions you can find how to have the temp / baro rotate in the top left corner

Hi Dorothy! Do you have multiple sensors? There are 2 temp/humid sensors and a rain gauge. If you connect an extra temp/humidity sensor, be sure to select a different channel before putting the batteries in that sensor. According to what I have read, you should be able to hold down the EXTRA button on top of the weather station to access the other sensors. If you don't have extra sensors maybe you should bring the sensor inside, take out all batteries and unplug the monitor for a bit, then start it back up. Let the system acclimate to your house and then take the sensor back outside. Do you have a sensor rain guard? If not, it's best to place the sensor under an overhang or even under a deck platform on the North side of your home. Make sure the sensor is out of the sun and away from your AC/heat pump. I hope this helps. Feel free to send a follow up question and i'll do my best! 👍
