The cast included Kenneth Branagh, Bill Nighy, Eddie Izzard, Terence Stamp, and Tom Wilkinson.
0:33 nice detail, Hitler hated smoking, so when he arrives all the officers smash their cigarettes.
Notice how the conspirator kept smoking a little longer, obviously due to nervousness or something of that sort
The first thing after his men did after Hitler's funersl was 🚬
Inform the commander that Lord Hitlers shuttle has arrived.
Yes sir!
Imperial March plays
this is an unexpected pleasure. We're honored by your presence.
HAHA, YES Lord Vader!! HAHA
Except it's not "Eastern Prussia". It's Central Russia! Get it right, man!
Crazy high quality film
Ain't no film to you man you was there
Reminds me of darth Vader's arrival on the death star when he had only 2 tie fighters escort him
2? that's a severe risk in security knowing the aim of certain empire units!
a little fact in addition to the 4 fighters escorting the two planes there would have more at higher altitude .
And the excelsior battle cruiser was above them.
You are quite correct. But in movies, directors often fudge historical accuracy in favor of dramatic effect
Interestingly,if you notice, there are no closeups of the escorting fighters, they may possibly be CGI

Best entrance ever👏👏👏
Smolensk was never a part of a district called Eastern Prussia.
According to Lebensraum it is.
@@WilhelmMuller88 uh according to adolf hitler himself, smolensk russia was not part of prussia, nor a part of Greater Germany you idiot
Fiesty one you are
It says Smolensk, Eastern FRONT.
Somebody should seriously put the imperial March over this! The parallels of this scene to the emperor’s arrival at the Death Star are eerily similar
Well they are based of nazis
Most movies never show the FBK (Führer’s personal guard) interesting that this one does
The Boss has arrived.
The movie 'Battle of Britain' starts out with one of those 3-engine Kraut planes.
Then 'Where Eagles Dare' starts out with one of those 3-engine Kraut planes.
Here we have 2 of those 3-engine Kraut planes.
Where do they get those 3-engine Kraut planes ?
Many old german planes, in particular Junkers 52s and Heinkel 111s, went to the Spanish Air Force after the war and served into the early 60s. The 5 that survive today are mostly in private collections collections or museum static displays.
Curious coincidence, the planes' tail numbers: 2600. The same as Air Force One
@@ernesthill4017 A note about 'Where Eagles Dare', "The Junkers Ju 52 used to fly Smith and Schaffer's team into Austria and then make their escape at the end of the film was a Swiss Air Force Ju 52/3m, registration A-702. It was destroyed in an accident on 4 August 2018, killing all 20 people on board."

I know but are their any airworthy FW200s flying in 2008?
I think that it is rather Vinnitsa in Ukraine when Hitler visited the Eastern front in 1943... East Prussia was not Eastern front before September 1944
eastern prussia is not smolensk, russia
Was Hitler’s plane Luftwaffe Ein?
spinechilling
Best entrance ever
I like the detail of him missing/fumbling with the railing when exiting his plane. For all the ‘badassery’ he still has his flaws.
