Obi was played by a fantastic actor. I remember watching the movie when I was much younger with absolute chills watching this man try to escape in such a convincingly real fashion. I'm also just now learning that he actually stuck his legs through the fire to try and kick the door open. He probably had to do a lot of convincing for the directors to allow that. Absolute madman.
I'm glad they explained how they had a stunt double wearing fireproof clothing and such that acted out the scenes where Obi was kicking the door in and such because even though that's what I thought was the case, I still wasn't sure xD

Dustin Leroy jigsaws traps were made so that someone could survive if they were willing to deal some pain to themselves. unlike amanda and hoffman's traps, jigsaw made it so they had a chance to survive. the lever would have most likely opened the door, or turned the gas off if obi was willing to suffer some burns
