- This is a series where I, as a Black man, attempt to hitchhike across Japan’s 47 prefectures. People have shared many thoughts about what they believe will and won’t happen on this journey. So, I've been documenting it for all to see. The quote in the thumbnail is a common one that I've heard as to why I won’t get picked up. Hello, where did you stay in Korea? We wanted to go over with the ferry (Fukuoka to Busan) last month, but now we will go in December. Do you have any tips for Seoul? Thank you
The first time I met rude Japanese people was on Mt. Fuji. The hotel staff and the village people were kind, but the people that run the huts are trying.
I believe it was called Home hotel in Busan. And I like Myeondong in Seoul. The food is amazing, enjoy it!
Don't test Japan for your convenience.
Your comment is saying nothing. Put some brain into it 🙏🏿
Nobu is such a sweet and kind person. He went out of his way to help a stranger and made a new friend
Why am i tearing up? This was beautiful. I love seeing completely different ppl just chill, talk, and vibe. No prejudice, no discrimination, just learning from & respecting each other as human beings. More blessings Ranzo & Nobu.
AMEEN
Another excellent episode. Nobu seems like a really chilled guy. These interactions are what make travelling such a great thing.
You both are such a vibe... Love it just 2 strangers meeting and talking as if you have always known each other. Not discriminating against each other just vibing and getting to know each other. If only the US could understand that it is okay to accept others even if they are not white. Its getting bad here and I cant wait to move. .. This video is so beautiful. Non stop conversation .. Respect
He turned back....what a beautiful and kind act by another human brother!! It makes my heart so happy. This smile won't leave my face...
This interaction right there was the true essence of our humanity and/or what it means to be human!!! Safe travels young man!!!
Nobu is a really cool and friendly guy, don't know how long the ride took but it must have passed by really quick, such a nice conversation you guys had. And how cool that you shared Line, it's really inspiring to see people make friends. I love this series man, you really share good vibes 👍
It took an hour and it was definitely great meeting Nobu.
just found your channel. better late than never. im staying
🙏🏿👊🏾
Stay safe brother
Lovely to see two people connect, both very different, yet shared experience of living across different nations.
Nobu is a cool cat! I hope he's becomes a regular on your channel.
Ranzo have fun and be safe with your Travels across Japan!
A follow up video with Nobu would be awesome in the future! He seems really curious but also cultured.
As an African-American, with everything going on in America right now, I always have and always plan to live in Japan for a few years and even both my parents had always known and supported me
Wish me luck
All the best man! You can make it happen!
with everything going on in America right now?? arent you guys the cause of this??
@@benbarcaA subliminally prejudice comment... The cause of what exactly?
We certainly aren't the cause of Russia and Ukraine fighting? Go back to Stormfront.
@@jayclarke777 Kneeghar el'retardo??? Did I make any reference to russia and or ukraine?
@@benbarca I would like to hear your take on how the US caused the Ukraine war. I have heard other people suggest that; but no one could tell me why they think that. I'm not trolling. I'm really asking about what makes you think that.
Ranzo, your channel’s content is so wholesome! Really lifted my spirits with this one. Honest human connection. 😊
I liked how he showed a high level of modesty with regards to being a chef vs "having" chefs. 15:32
I've lived in Japan for 15 years, and the people are almost always polite and courteous. Stay strong, Bro.
@@Matt-mc2sn Vacation...the only reason to take peace from god speed lol. probably for work lol.
@@Matt-mc2sn Military brought me here, and the beautiful scenery kept me here. I'm in the medical field, learned the language so I'm able to stay here on a professional visa. Hope that helps. I don't plan to return to USA. Peace!
@@thatniccapookeyjenkinsretired US military thanking you for your service... I'd love to visit one day
10 years for me and I agree, very very polite and helpful as they can be ❤
To black people.....???????
Nobu is so cool, and well travelled. He is Great company. Biggup from Canada.
Ranzo your Japanese is so good. Such a nice guy. Great interaction Love it!
My Japanese isn’t good 🤣 But I appreciate the kind words. I’ll take it as a prophecy 😂 Nobu is a great guy indeed.
Nobu is such a nice guy. We need more people like him in this world.
100%
Ranzo I am so happy that you will continue to upload this journey and share it with us. Watching these videos have been both enjoyable and eye opening. Continuous blessings and safe travels Ranzo .
Nobu is cool
AF
That was awesome. What make makes me miss Japan the most is the kindness of the local people themselves. 😄
Peace brother. Much respect to you and your lovely family. Thank you for always offering positive content. I am not sure if you know that you are performing a ritual. The act of waiting until you are brought across is breaking barriers for those who come behind you. It is also shifting the narrative for those who observe. You are also giving goodness an opportunity to show up and move mountains. I want to thank you, because the work is good for ALL. Mankind benefits from such a humble and loving journey.
Wow, Mr. Nobu drove you all the way just giving you a ride. Sooooooo nice.
Ranzo don’t forget to let us know about his restaurant in Brazil. 😊 maybe some of us can make it there when we are in Brazil.
I have enjoyed living and working in Japan for many years without any issues. Foreigners who scam or try to steal have always been a nuisance so I avoid them for the most part.
Remain blessed.
Loving the series 💕💕💕💕
nobu is so chill
Wish I had the guts and the time to do this 20 years ago!
That was an amazing ride. Thank you for the videos they are awesome .
今回は徳島と香川なんですね。
旅を楽しんでください。
良い人かどうかは笑顔と行動でわかります。
ランゾさんは、きっと良い人です。😊
Bro is so chill, everyone needs to be on his level
😁
The series is just full of amazing japanese people, great stories to tell, great personalities. Really amazing video BEJ❤
Nobuかっけえな。停まってくれて本当によかった
I always get excited when I see a new upload
Greetings from Brazil. One year from now I will definitely want to meet this wonderful person Nobu at the ramen restaurant. Thank you for this content, it has been a wonderful trip.
ノブさんは紳士で、とても親切で誠実です。 あなたは日本を代表する良い人物です。 Nobu-san: ラーメン事業の成功を祈っています。 会えたらいいのに。
Thank you for another lovely video! ありがとう
Really surprised to see the litter on the beach considering how clean Japan is. Also, Nobu's kind of hot...lol.
Blessings!
Awesome video thanks
Nobu! What a nice guy! I'm enjoying your journey, Ranzo. Good luck.
I truly enjoyed this video. Getting out of your comfort zone and connecting with others.
Lovely video with warm people
Thank you for this upload. I have recently become quite close to some Japanese people. They always treat my sis with learning disabilities like a queen.I would like to visit there one day. I know they will give me lots of tips just like your videos.😀🇬🇧
These videos are beautiful ❤
Keep them coming Ranzo and take care 💪🏽
This is awesome! S tier content💪🏾

Nobu is the coolest guy ever!
Man that was awesome!!
Very nice person🙂
My grandson lives and teaches English on Awaji. He’s from St. Paul MN.
Love these videos
my wife is Japanese.....never had a problem in Japan when I was there.
You’d appreciate the video if you watched it.
He seems nice, hopefully nothing bad ever comes, to him.
Most places in the world, people are a bit strange about this. Picking up hitchhikers. It seems the weariness is connected with bad news stories/crime reports, in connection with criminal hitchhikers. The bad people on earth, tend to ruin it for everyone else. Unfortunate. If it weren’t for that, human beings could trust each other more. Imagine such a world with NO concern that an unknown individual would try to mug or attack if you tried to help them, If there was that guarantee, that certainty, the full assurance/comfort. Heaven it seems, earth a bit different, yet not in every case. This guy seems nice/friendly, happy/cheerful, proof sometimes the assumptions of what bad can happen prevents anything from happening. That said, not (safe) to talk to strangers, to pick up strangers, yet everyone is a stranger until you know them. Asking for directions is also not easy.
Nobu super cool
Ranzo and Nobu is the duo i never knew i needed 😂❤
Loved Nobu....I really enjoyed your interaction....it was smooth and comfortable.
Great video!
Nobu is SOOOOO cool! Much respect to him❤❤❤❤
AMAZING RANZO!! ABSOLUTELY 💯 AMAZING!!
Such a good series. I would love to talk story with you in person next time im in Tokyo. Keep up the videos bro.
Safe trip bro... FrmJa
Just when you think these videos couldnt get more wholesome. Here comes Nobu.
I just came back from Okinawa, and found out how limited my Japanese is and how good a lot of Japanese English is hah. I definitely need to push myself to pick up the language
How could i order one of your sweater/hoody "BEJ?"
Hey Jonathan, you can click on the hoodie on the merch shelf under the video. If you don’t see it let me know, I’ll drop a link under this comment.
I've lived in Japan twice. I loved it. Japanese people are curious but always nice or at least polite.
Man Nobu is a great guy
How, he was so friendly.
Huh?
howdy chief
This is pretty cool! I wish I actually had the time to do this myself😊 Are you having to spend a lot of money doing this journey since you have to stay in hotels? But Im assuming you have passive income so its no real stress for you to do this😊
PROTECT THIS MAN AT ALL COST RANZO FOR THE CULTURE!! 💯💯💯💯
Ranzo biopic end credits: ranzo never showed up at nobu's house
😂
I'll be there in 3 weeks or so. Down for a chat? Not as someone who moved, but visiting for the 2nd time.
😊❤
I would love to know where Nobu is opening a Ramen restaurant in Brazil
The common thread in all these hitchhiking series seems to be everyone knows and loves Bob Marley!
And they don't know why .....
10:00. How is he driving on he left side or he car? I thought that in Japan the steering wheel was on the right side.
I think the truck was American.
@@TheBlackExJp What model car was it?
@Mefistosteles484 I wasn’t paying attention to it. Maybe a Ford. Maybe if you look at the steering wheel.
@@TheBlackExJp Thank you mate! Keep going, I never miss your videos!
any update to this hitchhiking series ? Did you manage to continue the journey ?

Why do many strangers always ask if his wife is Japanese?
I collaborated with a prominent Japanese corporation for 12 years. My colleagues were kind and generous and placed great responsibility and trust in me. I wanted to move to Japan because of my positive experience with them. When I talked to the director he told me I would not be happy in Japan. Then the company hired an American Japanese lady to explain what they could not say to my face: you are not welcomed in Japan because you are not Japanese.

Your journey needs to be made into a video game. Possibly by Nintendo.
SUN PEOPLE*
you should say something about "Johnny Somali". He is quite "famous" here in Japan.
He is discriminating Japanese people and never respects Japan.
First here
First
Too bad johnny somali is making black people in japan look bad by acting a fool!
Apparently there's a Black man that says his "Half Korean" "Born in Taxes" and he was assaulting Japanese people for historic reasons, I'm not sure what happened to him after all that incident but, Japanese people are waking up now to the racism. But hey, it seems your enjoying Japan, please don't get mad about us Asians being insecure towards English-men.
I heard that he was forced out of Japan. Some Japanese people would punch him in the face while he was live streaming.
Clickbait all the time to make it look like Japanese are doing him dirty. Meanwhile in Japan, you got black men like Johnny Somali doing dirty
Bro, just watch the video if you want to see what the video is about. This is not Twitter.
Nice views beautiful county but it looks like an industrial Business compound
I like the trees on the beach, How are you doing with showering and washing clothing?

Why you go to another country and start racism. What do you think? People are supposed to give you a ride? Come back to the U.S. and see if someone is going to give you a ride. You want people to feel sorry for you?
It’s unwise to comment before watching a video. If you don’t want to watch it, you could at least read the pinned comment. It’ll show the irrelevance of your comment.
"start racism". I don't believe it was black people that conceptualized or perpetuated racism first.
Eurocentrists take credit for everything but that.
