With the tournament, it is fair that only one Earthrealm fighter competes. When the team first questioned it, Liu Kang mentioned that it's an advantage given to the host realm. Meaning when Earthrealm hosts the tournament, it'll be the same way with only one Outworld fighter. This also reflects the tower mode of the game.
I was thinking the same thing.
Sindel was out there busting down everybody! I've never seen anybody stare up at someone and feel so much like they're staring down at them.

It wasn't the original timeline that was the previous timeline(MK9-11)
THE ORIGINAL TIMELINE is the midway era games

@@daemonredfield3211 I'd say the original games are "the original timeline," then MK9-11 are "the reboot timeline," and finally MK 1 (2023) onward is "the New Era."
@@SupportGamin2024 This is actually quite an interesting thing about MK9. It was NOT a new timeline, but the same as the Midway era, just retold in a different way. It acts as the past of the original timeline, with past Raiden getting blurred visions from future Raiden, so several events ended up happening differently. This time around however, is a complete new timeline, as it's reset and made from scratch by Liu Kang.
I very much enjoy Shao's subtle character progression. His treatment of Reiko speaks volumes. He doesn't immediately dismiss or demean him. They're seated side-by-side at the banquet mere hours later. Reiko is still his chosen second whom he raised as his protege. Reiko is loyal in kind to his master and mentor. Shao is still a wretched person, but his motivations are less self-involved this time around.
EDIT: To add to that, he is also far more honorable. He will not commit acts of cowardice or take cheap shots. The likes of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi disgust him, and he entirely *loathes* Bi-Han.
yeah i love that he looks at reiko like a son, he says it in a dialogue
I also really like that Shao is initially hesitant to outright rebel against Sindel and take over Outworld, even when Quan Chi and Shang Tsung try to tempt him with it. He only ends up rebelling because he genuinely believes that Outworld would be better if he ruled, and his desires stem from a desire to help his people instead of being the bloodthirsty warlord he is in previous games.
Ngl, I thought MK11 Sindel's design was the best, but MK1's iteration grew on me. She appears more majestic yet imposing by regality here and it matches her good nature.

So in this timeline Sub-Zero is Bi-Han (older brother, who got killed by Scorpion in MK9)
Scorpion is Kuai Liang (younger brother who became Sub-Zero after his brother's death and later made peace with Scorpion).
I miss Hanzo a lot, but this works well too
I kinda wanted Hanzo to be in the game, but considering he never became Scorpion, that's probably a mercy.
Sadly, he's appeared in Smoke's ending; I'm going to predict Kuai Liang dies, and that inspires him to become Scorpion again.

I didn't actually watch it, but I saw a theory that said Hanzo is going to become this timelines version of Takeda.

Except for a minor misunderstood acknowledgement. This Scorpion isn't Hanzo Hasashi, but it is Kuai Liang
You guys should watch the full story mode from IGN not from mk fire and ice cause it has some cuts if you watch it from fire and ice so you are gonna miss out on some scenes especially if it has some violence in it
In the original timeline Sindel was good and never killed her husband, she loved her daughter Kitana and when Edenia was conquered she was forced to marry Shoa Khan after she was resurrected by Shao Kahn, she was under his influence. Only when Liu Kang defeated Shao in MK3 she returned to her normal, good self and took back Edenia as it's ruler, until Shinnok invaded Edenia and held Sindel and Kitana prisoner. In Deception she would be freed from prison and would team up with Jade to rescue Kitana as she was that point Onaga's zombie. Only MK11 they rretconned her story and made her out to be evil from jump
Bro I don't think you noticed but that's not scorpion lol. Those are the subzero brothers. Hanzo is not scorpion here...but a cameo character. Also I believe edena is merged with outworld. Thats why its pretty.

SubZero and Scorpion are brothers in this timeline, but Smoke is not blood - this is clearly pointed out in the story. As far as this not being "the real" Scorpion, a Scorpion by any other name...

Hey guys I highly recommend checking out the Mk 11 arcade endings after your finished with the Mk 1 story is very needed
One thing you have to bare in mind in MK1 is 'everything you think you know is not what is'.
The way Sindel was looking at Shao in this new era lol she's so fed up. No matter what time-line, it seems that some characters cannot be trusted.

Just a heads up. It seems you guys are watching the story mode video uploaded by MKIceandfire. I guessed this because they censor out all the blood and gore and some of the cutscenes. If you want a video that doesn't cut out the more messy violence, a channel called "Gamer'sLittlePlayground" has an uncensored full story mode video. After all, what's Mortal Kombat without the over-the-top blood and gore?
Jerrod’s tradition refers to the tournament participants being people who hold a specific position. The first opponent by tradition is the First Constable which is the title for someone who is essentially the chief of police. Li Mei holds that title so she participates. It’s not Sindel’s choice

yes, what i like about this game is now all endings and intro dialogues are canon and are all connected to the events in the main story, no longer are they just random interactions or "what if" endings.
that actually explains why the ending felt like it was lacking a bit of follow up for what’s next for each character. I love this game so far.

Liu Kang and Geras both comment in prematch dialogue that tarkat was not intended and I believe it's a case of "all of these people that got the virus in past timelines were tarkatan and the universe is subtly correcting Liu's change"

Just a heads up, theres a lot of things you guys arent gonna understand in this story. Its a very 3D era driven storymode. Btw sindel has always been a good guy. Only in mk11 NRS completely chnaged and retconed her character. Mk11 is the only mk where Shao and sindel are a real couple.

I also just realized Madam Bo is the counterpart to Bo Rai Cho in the previous time lines. He helped trained Kung Lao and Liu Kang

The discussion with Sindel and you're belief that she's evil in this timeline is not possible, because Liu Kang when he was a Titan, made sure to alter the histories of many he journey with or fought against. Liu Kang would never craft Sindel's Destiny like that after his experience seeing the villains and what they did before he got control of the Hourglass.
