- Hello semua! As we mentioned in the Ramadan Vlog ep.3,
we visited our dear friend, Haslina's hose and had iftar together.
We can surely tell that it was the best nasi kerabu we've ever eaten.
OOOH I'm drooling again!
Also, it was the first time to have iftar with Malaysian family, but we
felt like we visited our grandmother's house! Very cozy & friendly :)

There are a few Kelantanese dishes that I like but the one I love the most is nasi kerabu, too. I think what attracted me to it is the blue rice - blue's my favourite colour 😄

Glad that Blimey crew loves nasi kerabu.Its a beautiful dish,tasty and a complete meal by itself. Its normally serve with everything in a single plate.The purple rice being the star, small " ikan selar kuning", beef,lada solok,fish crackers( keropok), duck egg,a small cut of lime, plus fried grated coconut,chilli,vegetables and budu condiments.Sometimes we call it nasi ulam .The best of all its cheap and delicious.RM 6 or RM 7 these days.It used to be only RM 4 a few years back .Thank you orang Kelantan for sharing this beautiful dish with us fellow Malaysians and the rest of the world.
For me, I would always add a pinch of black pepper to bring out the aroma of all the Kerabu and lemon in Nasi Kerabu. Also don’t forget the Ayam Percik is a must accompaniment.

Nasi kerabu of the my favorite rice dish originated from Kelantan... There's a lot of food to discover if you go to Kelantan especially the kuih...
Not to forget there's the nasi dagang which is also one of Kelantan's cuisine. Eaten with the gravy made from ikan tongkol, so delicious 🤤, it made me drooling just thinking of it
every state have their special food. If you want to eat original ayam/daging salai masak cili api, come to negeri sembilan to try them 😁
Watching how well the blimeys unnies suit themselves in our culture, engaging with the elders and actually put the effort to learn our language and enjoy our food/tradition is so heartwarming. Looking forward for more of blimeys content❤️❤️❤️

Aah nasi kerabu. It's always a whole family affair to cook it. So many components. So much finicky work. But after all the work, to be able to enjoy the food with everyone is a truly special feeling. Which is why in my family it's a must have menu every late Ramadhan when everybody's come back balik kampung before raya.

i can't believed that I enjoyed you guy's video having the fun experience to feel Malaysian authentic foods like nasi kerabu, and had the experience to join and see how Hari Raya was celebrated. I am happy for you guys and grateful for the fellow Malaysians who are in your video too to make your guys feel the experiences. Because it's so interesting that I had fun binge watching so many korean variety shows like "Three Meals A Day: Fishing Village", "Youn's Stay", and more shows involving korean dishes too. This is why I urge people to try the other kind of food in Malaysia (for foreigner and expatriate), and to promote their own region's specialty (for local).
Malaysia have a lot of food that is good to try, but we always promote the usual popular; nasi lemak, roti canai, and the tarik. Those kind of food fail to represent each state in Malaysia, too generic.
We have lot version of laksas, rendangs, ketupats, we have nasi kerabu, nasi ulam, nasi dagang, nasi minyak, nasi buluh. We have asam pedas, sup ekor, gulai tempoyak, masak lemak, ikan bakar kuah asam, daging salai cili padi. Each region has their own style of sambal such as sambal tempoyak, sambal tok, sambal cili padi, sambal Jawa, sambal kicap. Also kuih and traditional dessert.
I can tell Malay kind of food. If we included Malaysian Chinese, Malaysian Indian, Sabah-Sarawak ethnics, we have lot more.

Bunga telang is known as Asian pigeonwings, bluebellvine, blue pea, butterfly pea, cordofan pea or Darwin pea. Just don't google its scientific name unless you're alone.

I remember when I was a kid I used to pluck the blue flower to play "masak-masak"... Nasi kerabu is also my favourite food... My parents from Kelantan but we live in Kuala Lumpur... I have made nasi kerabu with my mom and my sisters... It feels like "merewang" because we have to do many things... My mom said usually kelantan people doesn't use nasi biru, they use nasi putih... It's kelantan style...

I loveee juro! 😂 she’s funny. I love kain batik since i think its a multipurpose kain. You can make it as table cloth, pair it with baju kurung/kebaya (i often send my kain batik to the taylor so i can wear it comfortably) for more aesthetic malay look. Glad you guys enjoy nasi kerabu. It is one of my fav!

You can make your own salty duck eggs. First get warm water put a small potato in it and keep adding salt until the potato floats this tells you there is enough salt.you can then add your duck eggs and keep them in the salty water for 26 days you can then boil one to check if it is salty enough if so take out of salt water and store in fridge until ready to use
