This is the Entire History of Iron Banner, i guess and wow this one is very deep with Destiny stories. All the way from Vanilla Destiny into the Taken King and Rise of Iron this mode stayed nice and golden. In the red war, curse of osiris, and warming it took a turn for mostly the worst. Forsaken did some saving, but mostly this mode was not the same as Destiny 1. Find out the rest of the story and watch for yourself!

Clearly someone didn't pay attention to the story with Saladin. He wasn't taken prisoner per-say he was forced to become one of Caitl's Valus', and it was agreed that he could still return to the tower only to continue running the Iron Banner. He also brought Iron Banner to the Cabal and changed it up then brought back the "new" iron banner to us.
Yea i said someone didnt pay attention to the story there. And it made sense to me why he still hold iron banner

Saladin isn't a prisoner. He's a respected advisor.
His life is owned like a slave to the cabal for crow killing the psion. But the empress of the cabal respects saladin as an equal. He is still a slave though

I think you misunderstood somewhat what happened to Saladin in the Season of the Risen. He was not taken captive by the Cabal, he pledged his allegiance and became a commander in the Cabal military.
Then, with the strengthening bond between the Cabal and the Vanguard, he was not only allowed to continue iron banner for the guardians, but also started running it for the Cabal too.
Caiatl saw the benefits of the training that iron banner brings and being allied with us, saw no reason to prevent us from continuing to get that training.
Except he never pledged his allegiance to the cabal, he was ready to die to pay for Crow's mistakes.
It was Caiatl's decision to make him a Bracus, something Saladin never expected. But yeah, he's not a prisoner either, so both of you are wrong ;P
If we were to have the IB mode brought in where every game was a different mode like clash, supremacy, rift and zone control it would make it better plus also having a new bunch of cabal themed weapons and maybe return a old D1 weapon per season would also make massive waves
i dont remember where i heard this, but when Saladin and Caitl got back to her ship they had a discussion on what to expect from him and near the end of the conversation he flat out tells her she cant keep him away from the Iron Banner, she laughs and said she wouldnt try and wanted to talk to him about introducing something similar into the Cabal

Thank you Evanf1997 you did a good job with the history of iron banner. The mode has change so much and you brought back ma y memories of those days. I do like that bungee hasn’t forgotten everything about the banner with young wolf line for those who did rise of iron and continuing the story of the iron lords. The lack of new content is kinda a trend of D2 pvp imo but this wolf hopes with Rasputin return we get a mini rise of lorn season. We can hope.

This season’s Iron Banner was wack. I went through Destiny LFG on the discord several times and some were looking for lose farms, win farms, AFK farming, and people wanting high K/Ds that were unrealistic. Eventually got into a 6-stack and we owned each match. At the same time, it felt off. Felt like there were two extremes: either you lose horribly or win without mercy. Since we now gonna have two IB weeks per season, idk what the future will hold for this once beloved mode.
As a veteran of destiny I loved and still do love iron banner the armor was unparalleled in its design so were its weapons and it hasn't lived up to that level of perfection in a long time. I wish it could one day bring back the original style of iron banner armor which is easily my favorite armor in destiny history.
massively enjoyed this. rise of iron was my favorite time ever in Destiny history. best raid, armor, etc. IB was the way to get pinnacles before I got into a clan and raided. Well done!
Fully agree about the armour, D1 Iron Banner armour was just badass culminating in the pinnacle that was the Rise of Iron set with the fire aesthetic upgrades. D2 Iron Banner armour, apart from one set that i think came out with forsaken, has been crap year after year.
P sure the flaming armour ornaments in rise of iron wasn't from iron banner

Instead of being in the middle of the tower, Saladin should be off of the edge of the tower by Zavala standing on top of an ornate cabal thresher with the iron banner aesthetic. Or he could be off the edge up top where he used to be.

As a d1 veteran I played a ton of iron banner. I have a ton of amor and weapons from iron banner in my valt. It was the best mode until combined arms came out. Once destiny 2 came out, I enjoyed it for a little bit until it got boring. I wish they would bring back more og content.

Issue is - give old armour back - and people bitch about "recycled content". But if they do new armour, the same folks don't like anything.

Iron Banner has always been one of my favorite parts of destiny.
Sucks rift doesn't feel the same to me, but its still super fun.
On a side note, the first season multimach got reintroduced I got a god roll, and its been my main gun ever since.
Rift is ass but eruption is a really good mode

I enjoyed IB when it rotated between Clash and Control.
I know that Bungo have said that Control is the flagship PvP mode as 'players need to be more engaged as a team' than Clash, but in a mode that so many players use the absolute cheapest weapons and abilities to get the win, being stuck in a team with Randoms who don't want to capture zones means that you're inevitably going to get mercies over and over.
At least with Clash you don't have to worry about how little your teammates care about capturing zones

As a player who started in Beyond Light, Iron Banner was my favourite PvP mode. Me and my fireteam were amped for it every time.
I get why vets were let down but damn, I had an amazing time with Salad Fingers.

You could reroll iron banner weapons from the very beginning, before house of wolves. That was the biggest draw to the mode in the beginning. House of wolves introduced rerolling to the rest of the weapons for a while
Saladin is still the IB vendor because he is allowed to host the event while being one of Caiatl's Valus. He also brought IB to the Cabal and he and Caiatl exchanged ideas on how to freshen up the event. He wasn't necessarily taken prisoner (he became more of a respected advisor), and his ties to Caiatl's army further strengthened the human and cabal alliance.
I love your content, man, but I wish you would pay more attention to the story.

I think an exotic peice of amour per class in IB would be a cool new reward, titans get The 'As old as Iron' chestpiece, being like saladins chest piece with the fur cape. With hunters getting something based off of Ephirdite, and Warlocks getting something based off of felwinter.
That they didn’t bring back any of the older armors or even the shaders for the BIG IRON BANNER REWORK is still the biggest ball drop in my heart

The only thing I would've added was that Felwinter's Lie spanded the entire season, and worst off, Bungie made the "tower defense" activity count towards the quest for Felwinter way, way late into the season where they caved in and added many, many buffs to each completion so the quest could be finished before Season of the Arrival

Being honest if they brought back the Taken King armor sets, especially the PS exclusive pieces, I'd barely ever take them off, once they'd been turned into ornaments :P

Where you'd get into a match, 6v6, but everytime you do some objective it spawn a cabal for your team to fight with thus combining the current story, with the alliance, abd gambit kinda but not in a motey way and only one cabal guy per objective completion
personally I don't think destiny has "the best gunplay of all time" like it feels good but it's certainly not the best ever made. The biggest thing about it that bothers me is you can't really hip fire most weapons
I had not realised how little I care about PVP in D2 until now.
Back in D1 I split my time 50/50 between PVP and PVE, sometimes getting closure to 70% PVP when all of the weeklies I could do were done in PVE, however now in D2, its more like a 90/10 split in favor of PVE, PVP just is not fun anymore in D2 compared to how it was in D1.

As someone who never played d1 it annoys me when people ask for stuff to return then complain about it only being old stuff, next time they add stuff to iron banner i hope its original content rather then d1 stuff or previous d2 stuff.
We aren't getting back Efrideet, she is confirmed dead in the lore. Which is sad cause her personality as a character was unique like all the others in the iron temple, now the uniqueness is kinda dead and dull in the tower
I would like for a reintroduced efrideets spear like felwinters lie...efrideet should come back and give us the quest...or something along those lines.
Gonna just put this here. I started playing pvp BECAUSE of Iron Banner. Idk why Im not very competitive, not into sports, tried cod multiplayer but didn’t like it. Destiny hit’s different. My Hunter is Iron Banner themed with pride because I took a chance and god I feel good for doing it. I kinda suck pvp wise but Iron Banner really brings the best performance out of me and I’m not sure how.
