Perseus (Sam Worthington) and his fellow warriors battle a clan of angry Cyclops.
FILM DESCRIPTION:
The epic battle between the Titans and the gods continues in this sequel set ten years after the events in Clash of the Titans, as Perseus (Sam Worthington) descends into the underworld on a mission to rescue Zeus from the clutches of Hades (Ralph Fiennes), Ares (Edgar Ramirez), and Kronos. In the wake of his decisive victory against the Kraken, Perseus has retreated to a remote fishing village to raise his young son, Helius. Meanwhile, humanity has lost faith in the gods. As a result, Zeus, Hades, and Poseidon find their power beginning to slip, a development that could spell disaster for all of humankind should their imprisoned father, Kronos, manage to break free from his underworld prison in Tartarus. When Perseus learns that Zeus' son Ares has teamed with Hades and Kronos to capture Zeus, steal his power, and create hell on earth, the time comes to take action. Now, with Andromeda (Rosamund Pike), Argenor (Toby Kebbell), and Hephaestus (Bill Nighy) by his side, brave Perseus will venture deep into the underworld on a mission to defeat the Titans, deliver Zeus from evil, and prevent the powers of darkness from consuming all of humanity.

I like that the Cyclops spoke an entirely different language. They could've had them speak English, or not speak at all. But having them speak in a distinct language lets us know that these Cyclops are not mindless monsters: they have a language of their own that sounds quite complex (not just grunts and babble, but articulate words). That makes them so interesting!
I think their language a primordial dialect that the Titans spoke themselves.

They really nailed the speed and feel of these giants, they feel big and powerful yet fast enough to remain intimidating unlike a lot of movies that make their giants extremely slow.

Well, that’s because giants would be naturally heavy. Too heavy to move this fluently.

Fun fact... all the stories we know come from the same core. Whether its Greek, Egyptian,Judia,Christian,Islam or whatever other version you can think up... its all the same. Hades and Zeus, Seth and Horis, Michael and Lucifer, Cain and Abel, hell its Mufasa and Scar, Harry Potter and Voldemort, Darth Vader and Luke. We tell the same story time and time again, with our own little twist to them.

i appreciate how when hit with the tree trunk, the cyclops doesn't sway or swoon dramatically. he just falls immediately like anyone would when the power to your brain gets conked out lol

True but you have to think of it as "evolutionary" creature...Cyclops did not suddenly appear and thus, because of their one eye, they become impaired..there must have been a sign of other evolution of senses (hyper hearing, a form of echo location etc ) or otherwise they would become extinct due to lack of ways to capture their hunt and feed... Thus, this scene is shit...

This is a fantasy story based on mythology, where there are strange creatures and abominations that are born out of crossbreeding with God's and humans and all sorts of other crazy situations. If you look at it that way, then it makes sense why all of those creatures eventually disappeared and are only in "mythology"!
That being said, I wasn't a fan of the new movies, though they did have some cool moments.
The animation was top notch in this scene. Can you imagine if this film was shown on the big screen in 1937? Movie directors of that era would’ve been clueless as to how to duplicate these scenes. Wizard of Oz was the standard back then.
To be fair, if you showed any movie from the modern day to someone in the past, they'd wonder how you managed it. But I guess you mean CGI would be impossible to replicate in any way.
i guess his hand eye coordination is off since he only have 1 eye so no depth perception. no wonder he cant hit a guy running in a straight line

I guess I have no depth perception either since closing one eye doesn't seem different to me but I still estimate depth well. I wear thick glasses which really distort my vision.
Well a cyclop is different since its eye is in the center and yours is not

Thats why it’s hard for him to hit, he doesn’t have 2 eyes separated to see his arms from an edge view of the eye
He can only see the center so it’s hard landing hits when you can’t see both your arms and eye in the same view

Men. The tree trap hurts on one of the cyclops' brothers's head a lot. Its like the tree hits it at the back of the head skull
I like how sometimes 80% of a tree would just disintegrate by the cyclops hitting it low near the ground...the top portion would just be gone (or maybe fly away like when you get hit by giants in skyrim?).
