  • In this episode, we leave Lone Pine to drive up the canyon into Cerro Gordo Ghost Town, where we take in some sights of the well maintained and refurbished buildings, equipment and artifacts. We meet Brent, the owner of the town who gives us directions and advice for descending the eastern back side canyon, that takes us right into Death Valley where we explore one of the largest Joshua Tree forests known as Lee Flat. We cross over the eastern mountains where we discover amazing campsites before crossing the rugged southern end of Saline Valley and making the treacherous climb up Lippincott pass. We push our luck over legendary washboard roads racing the sunset to get around the north end of racetrack playa, past teakettle junction to make camp. Can we make it??
Come along for the ride and find out.

Hi there - Mark and Inga here! Great Video, amazing to see what we missed on the other side of the mountain. Even though we needed longer up the mountain we had a blast checking out Cerro Gordo and meeting Brent! We also love your videos - a real inspiration what we should discover next!

Glad you are enjoying the videos! The drive down the other side was pretty cool, some great scenery! We hope you guys had a great end to your trip in the Sequoias and San Francisco! Did you ever find the missing tool for your spare tire?

@@GoldensGoneWheelin oh yes the scenery looked so amazing but sadly I don´t believe that our rental would have made the trip down there. Unfortunately we never found the missing tool but told Alamo later on that this could be an issue for the next one renting this Jeep. Oh we had a blast on the rest of our trip and even got engaged :)

Glad you found us. We've got a couple more episodes coming for Death Valley in the next week or two. We just got our JL last year as well. Best of luck to you in your travels.

Very cool you spotted our tea kettle! Love Death Valley, always a new place to explore! South Pass is so awesome and next time you should go past the Lippencot turn-off and check out Warm Springs Campground further to the north...very cool area!

Will do!... Definitely looking forward to going back down there an exploring some more. Seems like you could spend years exploring DV and still find new things.
