- Today we pack up camp and head north to get a look at the Ubehebe Crater. Before heading north we enjoy an awesome breakfast at camp and drive up to check out the remnants of the Lippincott mine (1908 - 1951). On our way to the crater, we also enjoy the desert bloom along the way.

I think you are talking about doing Titus Canyon at the end but checking the DV website it still shows it as closed. It has been for several years now, unless someone else can confirm otherwise......it is an awesome drive and we saw Sprinter vans doing it.
Yeah, it is Titus Canyon. That was a learning experience for me. When we actually picked up a paper map of DV it did show it only in one direction.

STrawberry HedgeHog Cactus is the name of the mystery cactus.
Yes Beatty is Westbound only and is Beginner level with no need to air down. It is a great first drive if you've never been to DV but I don't see the challenge for you. Great scenery

Maybe we’ll get to experience that drive in a future visit, so much to see down there!

@@GoldensGoneWheelin Ah thanks! Yep we are Golden people and love involving them in the things we do. Had two girls previously. Lost one a few years ago at 16yrs of age and lost one two years ago at 12yrs...Now we have two boys 8yrs and 4yrs. Best companions!
