- We awake on the west rim of Hells Canyon to an early sunrise, and start the drive to the bottom of the canyon along the river we spotted from above (Imnaha River). We then do a 60-mile out and back to the Snake River through the canyons to discover a couple of amazing camping locations along the way. After taking in lunch next to the river, we head south toward Oxbow, where we find a camping location at the end of a road. We stop at Scotty's Supply Store where the Sheriff and gentleman behind the counter inform us the Idaho side of the canyon is the place to see. They give us a map and directions to Sheep Rock. What an amazing drive, and the views were incredible. We then make for Bend Oregon, but we come up short having to camp at Ochoco Summit. However, this makes for the perfect break before checking out the mile wide volcanic mar called Hole in the Ground.
Thanks for taking me along. I mentioned I had just found you channel when you described packing your Wrangler. I looked at your channel and found the 2 part series about the trip from the Cascades to Hells Canyon and now Hells Canyon to Hole in the Ground. Both were amazing. I had just been looking at that area. My wife and I took a jet boat ride on the Snake last fall and wanted to explore further in the Wrangler. The scenery that you showed us tells me that we have to do it soon. Thanks. I like your animal shots and the goldens playing around.
Glad you enjoyed it!
Great video, love those 2 goldens , thanks
Thank you! Yeah we love 'em too. 😄
Excellent video, that spot by the river was amazing!!!! Love it!
Thanks Mike! I wish you would have been there with us.
Eastern Oregon is on my list, love the 2 videos!
It really is beautiful. We covered a good portion of central Oregon in the Cascades video, but Hells Canyon at the Snake River is right there on the eastern edge. 😄 Thanks for watching! We really appreciate it.
Beautiful!! And awesome video!!😊
Thank you!! 😊
Nicely narrated. Videography is exceptional, well done!
Thank you so much. I'm learning, but still feel like there is an overwhelming amount I need to learn. That makes it fun. 😄
@@GoldensGoneWheelin well you are off to a good start! Keep going! 👍🏻
Thanks again, hope you continue to enjoy the content!
Wow! Rocky Mountain Elk country
Yeah that was really cool!
Love your videos, keep em coming. I too have a ground tent that I use. While it may take a few more minutes to set up and break down I much prefer it over a RTT with my Wrangler. Besides not having that extra weight up top I think an under mentioned advantage of a ground tent is the extra room inside of one vs a RTT. Anyway I look forward to that video 🤙🏼
Thanks! Yeah I can't imagine trying to squeeze us all into a roof top tent but I'm not opposed to trying it. Unfortunately I think it would have to be so big and heavy that I'd be uncomfortable off roading in some situations. I do envy the ability to camp in locations where it would be hard to find a flat spot for the Gazelle.
How was the tick situation out there? I know that can be tough with dogs…
So far we’ve been lucky all around! They get checked regularly and are on monthly preventative for ticks and others stuff.
