  • @davet2459
    @davet2459 Před 16 dny

    This is finally his make or break year. If he succeeds with the team he has around him there will no longer be any question about his ability. Nabers needs to be the guy to elevate him to that level just as every QB has had that receiver for them to truly ascend and DJ hasn't had anything even close to resembling that kind of player so Nabers HAS to work out to that level. That and they have to somehow finally fix their offensive line. The reality is DJ has been no where near as bad as the media would have you believe but he has certainly never been great... the real question is how much of that has been out of his control. Mara is not lying when he says the Giants have truly done everything it possibly can to make Jones fail. Even so he has been basically the exact same player as Trevor Lawrence, a guy who was supposed to be the 2nd coming of Payton Manning... look up their stats and you'll see how virtually identical they are.

    I don't understand the hate for Daniel Jones. The guy was injured last year: plenty of other qbs were also injured. He played behind a terrible line and still did his best to lift his team. He had limited options to distribute the ball to. Justin Herbert, in my opinion, is in the same position with the same problems, yet nothing is said about him? Give Jones another season to show what he can bring to the NFL. The issue is that fans and owners expect immediate success. Aka The Stroud Effect. The game is wicked fast, highly pressured. Players need time to adapt and build. Fans and 'experts' need to stop complaining and back their players. Show some support

    G.Grennell I'm not sure why you nat'l sports gurus?, are railing on DJ and NY so much. NY had no chance to get one of the top three QB's this year, and after last year horrible O-line (for the tenth straight year), they needed to fix that line, and improve wherever possible. So they have improved the O-line in free agency with veterans, hired a new line coach, and now thrown in 4 or 5 UDFA's to insure they get the best five available. In addition, they improved their pass rush w/burns, added a #1 wr1, #1 safety, three more RB's to replace Saquon, and strenthened their CB, TE, and LB positions. It would have been stupid to mortgage their season trying to reach any new QB, when DJ has not had a reasonable opportunity to succed in four years. He has come back to win in a couple games, won a playoff game, an suffered through the worst o-lines in NY history, while adapting to three coach/ coordinator changes, and several injuries, because of his lack of protection. He will finally get a decent chance this year to perform, yet many guru's? I hear have already written him off, and are scheming next year's draft. It is time for you-all to shut up, give him the real chance he deserves...then pass your judgment. I expect, without key injuries, NY will win 9, or 10 games this year. They could have won three more than the 6 wins they had last year, if DJ could have been protected. Get a clue!! NUF SAID!!!

    you need a franchise changing qb to make a playoff dent. they felt all of those were taken at their draft position. so they took a game breaking WR. Great pick. If i was GM i would have traded back for more picks to boost the O and D lines. it's not the sexiest way to make your team better. a better line gives your qb slightly more time and their qb slightly less time meaning your 3rd round receiver will get open and make the catch and run for more yards.

      That won't happen. Not at all. Schoen and Daboll's leash are MUCH longer than most casual fans think. Steve Tisch is running this operation at this moment, as he threatened John Mara at the end of Joe Judge's reign. Mara wanted to keep Judge and Gettleman for stability, but Tisch said to let them go and to look outside the organization, or Mara would lose Tisch's 50% stake in the Giants. Schoen and Daboll are under contract with Daniel Jones for one more year, then they will get their guy. THAT is when the clock starts on their regime pressure.

      So more of the same bullshit that the Cleveland Browns and Detroit Lions went through, eh? Zero consistency, zero structure, constant turnover, no production, dead last in all stats, over, and over, and over, again, and again, and again. Rinse, recycle, repeat. That's precisely what you are suggesting. Short term results, long term failure. Makes perfect sense, doesn't it. Rethink your strategy, and go root for another team if you can't handle patience and payoff of building a contender for the long haul.

Or just elsewhere in general.

    • @20Unknown
      @20Unknown Před 13 dny

      So you do exist... shocking.
      Alright then, to answer your first question. Either a QB in the 2025 draft, or Drew Lock, if he fits the Daboll/Kafka mold. Most likely the former, Quinn Ewers, Carson Beck, Cam Ward, or that kid from Texas A&M.
      As for your second question, Shurmur, Judge, and Gettleman... Dave Gettleman was hired as a familiar face to the franchise, as he worked in the Giants front office before. He hired Pat Shurmur, who was a little soft as a head coach. Good coordinator, don't get me wrong, but bad track record as a head coach. (Those Browns I had mentioned in my comment that was taken down) He was the coach that SHOULD have been Daniel Jones' teacher, but a 4 win season derailed that idea. So out Shurmur went. Joe Judge... HA!!! He had ZERO business being a head coach. But, Gettleman and Giants' ownership saw the Harbaugh/Ravens thing and tried to mimic that. A 6 win, 4 win, and lost lockeroom later, out the door he went, along with Gettleman. However, there was a report that Mara wanted to keep Judge for consistency sake. (Back around when Joe Judge got fired. You can look that report up if you'd like) My speculation, as you put it, was the abrupt turn that Mara took to firing Judge and Gettleman and hiring outside of the franchise. Just reading between the lines, that's all.
      One more example for you, go rewatch the Giants' war room in this year's draft. Look at how much Joe Schoen and Brian Daboll interact with Steve Tisch versus John Mara. It leans Tisch's way more, which kinda validates my original point, just a hair.
      That should answer a few of your concerns about my original post. Anything else you'd like to add to that, my good Ukrainian sir?
