I’m on pc but I did try it on a friends ps5 and it was a nightmare, comparatively. Some actions require two button presses.

@@MoviesFreeGalore so it turns out that I forgot I let my friend play on my account when I first got the game and they remapped a lot of the buttons to match a game that I’ve never played before thus why everything was mapped weird. I should’ve checked that everything was default before getting into it 💀 I’ve been learning to play with mismapped inputs

For my console brothers: I highly recommend changing the button mapping from default to custom. Something like ‘Jump/Dodge’ to Left Thumbstick and ‘Kick’ to Right Thumbstick. This keeps your fingers on the same buttons the whole time and allows you to Alt attack by pressing X/A which isn’t perfect but Dodging and Kicking is much more useful than alternate swings anyway.
Unfortunately, we aren't able to change the button layout on console, atleast the last time I checked we couldn't

I swear someone was doing this on a dueling server and I thought he was feinting a third attack
To get more kills use the other other buttons on your mouse. If you keep clicking left click, you will get block all the time

As a left-handed person, this seems normal to me. For example, in sports, right-handers always have a bit of a problem with us... because we're “reversed”. I also use this "technique" in Chivalry 2 and it works surprisingly well.

I use shift for alt attacks
I'm a lefty, I don't really have choice. I swing weapons from my left side, and most people are caught off guard when I do that, but that doesn't last for very long when they figure that out. My own Langes Messer is made for left handed people. The Nagel is on the left hand side of the sword.

@@StridahsAngels To be honest, not very many. There's not a HEMA or kendo club that close enough to me to help feed into my hobby. When I do get into sword fights, its usually with foam swords and other foam weapons, because getting protective equipment is really expensive, and it more fun that way at any rate. I've actually been trying my nephew a little bit every time asks if we can do a sword fight. He's only five, but he's getting pretty good with my foam weapons.
Maybe in getting old, but the swordplay is too complicated sometimes. Still love the game tho

Is there any reason to not bind your default swings to the opposite of what they are now, so you always swing from the left side with left click?

What’s the point of having a left and right attack when blocking just blocks all damage?
It's meant for dragging and speeding up attacks. it's also there if there is something to your left or right where it would usually bounce off.
If you attack from the right you turn right to slow down the attack and cause a block from your opponent who seeing it didn't hit him yet, lets go off the block button and then gets hit. Speeding up is meant to trip players up from timings they might be used to
Issue with Chivalry 2 is that it's bound to a separate key to do it instead of Mordhau which uses directional system using the mouse. Chivalry 2 also makes you alternate between right and left during swings but it's sometimes hard to tell what swing you are so it's hard to know which way to turn to drag or speed up an attack
Chivalry 2 was designed to be a button mashing medieval slasher, and people are making it the most competitive shit ever

idk how you can say this is a button masher. your inputs need to be extremely deliberate. a button masher is trash
think about it for more than a few seconds, would a game with like what you want actually be fun for more than a couple of times playing it? a game with no depth to it would die in a month, maybe less. chivalry 2 is probably the most approachable first person slasher to ever come out and you think it's too sweaty? do you instantly quit a game of call of duty because someone shoots you in the head once? chivalry 2 has a very simple combat system that was obviously put together with noobs in mind, but you dont seem to care because you arent willing learn it at all. you would think the developers would have patched out any skill expression at all if it was getting too sweaty, but look where it is now.

look in your key bind options for something like "alternate strike" default should be ALT
1/2 if not most players are on console so it’s a bit more difficult

Mordhau did it perfectly choosing the direction you wanted to slash and block is perfect in that game having to press alt and slashing is way too clunky chivalry should’ve just stolen for mordhau
