We have started listening to audiobooks on our drives to church every week! (We live 30 miles from our church)

Thank you for these tips. I’m homeschooling my 6th grade daughter for the first time this year and I had questions about how to do read alouds.

Starting young is so helpful, helps them build the habit to be able to listen for longer periods of time as they get older 💕💕

Thank you for these! This was helpful for me, as we have struggled with them the last year.

I love your tips! My mom never read out loud to us because she didn't speak English so I really had to get use to it with my kids. We love using the Libby app with our library card. Would love some read out loud book suggestions.

Great info. I have homeschooled for years…my oldest just graduated college. I only became familiar with read alouds, maybe a year ago. I always read little books to my kids, but incorporating chapter books and even poetry, was never on my radar. We do try now, but with a two year old, yikes!😂

I have not heard of read aloud revival! The book lists are awesome!!
This year we did sonlight so I had to establish a good read aloud time.
Mornings do not work for us, we read in the afternoon and my 3 year old falls asleep while I read.
I actually give your channel credit for helping me establish this time with my kids!
It was the letting the kids draw while I read that worked so well for us!

I do read alouds with my girls and my 2 year old right before bed. He loves to sit and cuddle up with us on the couch. I agree with starting them young!

Great tips! Just started our first chapter read aloud with 6 and 4 year old today. Mouse and the Motorcycle. Got thru 1 chapter…I dunno if they truly listened and I was getting disappointed :/ keeping their hands busy is a good idea !!! Thanks!

Good tip to not force it 😬 There’s been a few times when no one is listen and I’m super grumpy… “Sit down and listen!” Not so beneficial for any of us when I try to push it 😜

Our library uses hoopla and there's also Axis 360 for another library card option

For some reason our library doesn’t have Hoopla.

A tip for bilingual families. Read English books in your own language, you don't have to translate word for word. Especially great with picture books when they are young. As they get older like preschool age then starting reading the books in English.
