I remember the times when US air RB had like 38% WR because a lot of really experienced players were in the German, Japanese and Soviet teams (Germany vs USSR matches were sweaty as hell). Nowadays you can get every once in a while historical matches against the Japanese with similar results as before xd

Yeah, always be careful with the american 190 A8. The plane isn't good, but the players that play that plane have cracked aim. One of the worst feelings is being forced into a head on with them.

Adore this plane, but honestly prefer the J5N1. Lower BR, similar performance, and roughly infinite 20mm ammo, and a lot of people don't really know what it is.
similar performance? The j5n1 is dogshit heavy, but it at least can certainly maneuver, dive, pull, reverse and stall fight. It's my most flown prop. My highest skill based carries are on J5n1. Becomes a monster when it's below 10mins of fuel but its hard to reach when you only have 20 mins before having to hurry.

@@Jepicus how am I saying they're similar bruh💀 the Ki83 has amazing acceleration and climb rate even from the start with 35 minutes of min fuel. Ki83 can't pull, nor dive, nor roll, nor reverse. Things J5N1 can perfectly do. Ki83 has obnoxiously bad energy retention because of it's awful drag. J5N1 is more streamlined and has better retention like, it accelerates in flag turns duh.
I formerly played WT near purely to collect planes and tanks. When I got back into it a while back, it was only with half a heart and no real proper way to understand how to learn to be good, so my attempts were limp since it was still about collecting cool planes and tanks.
Your videos have made me actually start using more techniques and having better success rates, now mind you I'm level 100 at the time I really tried... I will not say how many of that is due to wyvern base bombing... But I am having a lot more success now. I still kinda avoid ground spawn planes other than jets cause I am not to the point I can reliably reverse/detect energy states, and 3 minutes climbing to just get sent back to the hangar with no rewards is just not the fun I am in for chief. Though my success rate against CAS in ground has sky rocketed, and I have about a 1-1 trade ratio with other players, which is about 5x better than I used to - so cheers.

Please could you cover one of the Vampires? I can't find any video in which you have covered one previously and I am struggling with the Finnish one.
First clip is all about aim skills and agressive fighting. I did that alot in old times, it meant easy 5 kill matches in every few battles with planes such as Ki-84s, J7W, Ki-83 etc.
But here is the thing, its not about skills but luck when enemy gets chance to shoot at you. This playstyle is inconsistent and ugly because it takes the control from you and gives it to enemy. Shouldnt be done with BnZ aircraft. The right way to play Ki-83 is climbing above 6km then baiting enemies into hammerheads and BnZ. This way I get 2-3 kills per battle with my 10 FPS potato laptop. Im sure good players will get 5+ kills this way.
Never go unga bunga in this plane unless the enemy team already got obliterated. Im concerned because I got called noob for climbing and not playing agressively.

Also a tip: do not try to catch running away fighters in Ki-83, this will bleed your energy advantage and ability to BnZ over target.

No pd = ass radar
In my experience if you are doing everything correct... game might screw you over. If you don't have PD mode radar you need to stay high or look up to shoot sparrows. If you have PD like EJ Kai... well they work better but one reason I don't like top tier jets is radar missle seem to just not accept locks sometimes. So you just fly around with the extra wieght.
Use the phantom’s acm mode in realistic I’d say, been having good luck with that but I am using an F-4 with PD. Crappy PD but it does shoot down into ground clutter if they are coming head-on fast.

Yeah arcade is a different game entirely. I haven't played it in quite a while but from what I remember it's all about having a better turn rate, but that doesn't matter anyway because it's never a 1v1 in arcade and someone will always just shoot you in the back while you're fighting

hornet is faster and retains better but turns worse and stiffens up more. It also can take damage. A single 50 cal is enough to cut this plane in half.
@PanzerSoldat they taught me that you can neutralize overheating by setting pitch to 93 and radiators to 35. You will never overheat. But anyway, the Ki83 is slower than a Spitfire LF Mk9 below 5km in straight line... so make use of your altitude and second supercharger. One enemy above and you're dead.
@@kingghidorah8106 wait does, setting the radiator down not hurt the cooling situation? Normally with the Ki-83 I do pitch at 90 and radiators at 100 and it still turns pale yellow then orange after a while.
The ki83 beats the hornet in a 1v1 dogfight but the hornet is technically the better plane. The ki83 kinda just counters the hornet because they both have amazing climb and air spawn while the ki83 turns better. However the hornet is massively faster at all altitudes and if it wants to disengage it can do so easily
@@J7Handle idk, maybe it's because of your altitude, at 6k it never overheats with those settings. Keep in mind that radiators cause a lot of drag and if you wep with them out completely they will hinder your plane, making it go slower than needed and not letting enough air get into the engine to cool it down.

It’s the best all round prop fighter in game of course it deserves praise. It always does at least 2 things better than any other prop it faces, and often just does everything better than its opponent. (Climb, turn, speed) only the mk 24 and hornet can actually fight it 1vs1 and hope to win. This is assuming both pilots are good of course

Because it isn't true. Ki-61s and the N1Ks are only about average in the turning department. And Ki-44s are below average. And the less said about the Ki-45s the better.
Then there's the general rule for props that the higher the Br, the higher the speed, but at the cost of some manoeuvrability. But many Japanese aircraft are at least slightly overtiered. Hence, they manoeuver comparatively speaking better.

@@martijn9568 Not at all true. Ki-44s have great turn rates. Ki-61s and N1Ks also have, at worst, good turn rates. The Ki-45s actually have great turn rates for twin engined fighters.
@@bitofapickle The reason for Japanese aircraft turning better is because of the philosophy of Japanese fighter doctrine. Japanese fighter doctrine was all about turn fighting. The moment you engage someone you turn to beat the opponent. As a result most every fighter design heavily emphasized turn fighting. Because of handling characteristics that comes from such a philosophy this also carried to all other designs because the Japanese wanted their bigger aircraft to have a similar generally ductile handling that their fighters exhibited.
Case in point: part of the design requirements for the A6M and Ki-43 was that they had to be able to turn with a biplane while being able to break 300mph in level flight. This was thought to be impossible by most people. So much so that Mitsubishi (who designed the A6M) and Nakajima (who designed the Ki-43) were the only two companies to even draw up potential designs to the given specifications. The Ki-61 was seen as inferior by the Japanese compared to the Ki-43 (the I and II versions in game) because it didn't turn as well yet the US saw the Ki-61 as superior to the Ki-43 because it was faster. The Ki-84 was seen as an equal by the Japanese to the Ki-100 when flown against each other in mock dogfights because the Ki-100 beat the Ki-84 in a turn fight despite the fact that the Ki-84 was faster on the deck than the Ki-100 could go at crit alt and the Ki-84 could reach 5km in 4 minutes 15 seconds to the Ki-100's 6 minutes to 5km. Unsurprisingly the US saw the Ki-84 as vastly superior to the Ki-100.

About the perceived "poor" turning quality of some Japanese aircraft is due to some aircraft only having a good turning circle or climb rate. When compared to aircraft that have both those other Japanese aircraft fall behind and makes those aircraft seem average.

It's a Boat and without even a speck of energy retention in straight line or vertical. Paper thin dmg model, you get your wing tip yellow you literally start flying sideways. Slow, can't break thru 700km/h speed limit neither in straight line or in shallow dives (shallow my ass, 15 degrees aint shallow and even then it can't hold it together). Abysmal compression, needs 1500m to recover from 700km/h 90 degree dive, if you don't have this much, say hi to earth, you wont pull up. Playing Ki-83 feels like suffocating, you think you have all this space around you at your beck and call, but its illusion, your plain of combat range is practically claustrophobic.
J5N1 beats this junk into oblivion apart from climb rate (which ain't really that much worse in 0 to 5000m threshold)
Better guns, better dmg model, agile, has great vertical energy retention, fast and good diver, great elevator responsiveness in high speed dives, slats to help with low speed maneuvers, 20mm angled frontal armor with thick 70mm bullet proof glass at high angle allows your pilot to be hit 3 times by AP 20mm before he dies and stops 100% of american 0.50 AP rounds making your invulnerable to those unless from point blank range (0 to 100m we all know that if that going to happen you will die in ram anyway) and has 350 rpg for 20mm like huh man, you can bully people, it is type 2 cannon, it might be slow, but it hurts when it hits unlike Ho-5, and army 30mm is as strong as naval one. (same characteristics)
But oh well Ki-83 is still a whole world better than this junk called J2M3/5 aka the worst fighters in whole japanese tech tree.
I spaded every single japs prop and i am stubborn to make things work, while Ki-83 is decent for bomber hunting thanks to climb rate that will take you to 8km in no time and 30mm 80rpg cannons, the J2M3/5 is good for nothing. Trash guns, trash speed, trash energy retention, trash dive controls, sluggish, paper thin and climbs worse than spitfires and costs absurdle money for repair cost.

If you think the J2M3 isn't good at all please ID me another Japanese fighter that can go toe to toe with a LF. IX Spit in a knife fight and successfully counter every move that the LF can make. Are the J2M3 and J2M5 over BRed? Yes, slightly. The J2M5 should be 5.0 and the J2M3 should be 5.3. The real abomination in the Japanese tree is the J2M4. That thing shouldn't be any higher than 4.3.

A damn Fw190 A8 can out climb you indefinitely, since you will lose power at altitude before him. Yes, he zoom climbs you climb, but there is fun part in this. If you give Fw190 enough of separation he will turn into you and push a head on to which to dodge with this brick you will have to pray to god.
Thing with LF, it is slow in climb and not fast in straight line. I beat LF in his own game with Ki-87, i out climbed him at 10-5 degrees, moreover at 6-9km alt i was faster in climb than he in straight line, kinda same situation like in J2M vs Fw190 minus Ki-87 is a pile of shit.
With enough speed and bit of luck you can beat LF in N1K series with flaps fully deployed, shit will hit the fan only when you burn all energy.
And you telling me Ki-84 can't beat LF in maneuvers based fight in general? That would be strange given it do not compress at all unlike J2M and is faster than spit but also has amazing agility at low speeds with flaps on, and a lot better energy retention.
During my time of mastering every damn japanese plane i do not remember any spit to be bane of my existence. It was Fw190 and any smart USA pilot in P51H or P47/38

Shitty compressor gears, early changes between 1st and 2nd (massive drop in power on altitudes), very massive gap between 2nd and 3rd gear/3rd gear do not offer any ground breaking performance.
Type I cannons at 5.7 on plane that can't pull any lead thanks to elevator. Mix up between Type I and II that have drastically different ballistic and velocities.
Low horsepower, at 6km it generates... 1100hp if i recall. Bf109G/K can do from 1500 to 1800 there. J2M3 will be completely screwed on that alt if enemy decides to climb, it will look like it is stalling in air having problem to go more than 250 IAS.
I flown this shit, i am not biased for no reason, if i don't like Ki-83 and call it a "boat" i am still willing to play it time to time if i get "intercept x amount of bombers". On the other hand J2M is pile of garbage, it's place is in trash can, not my line up. I'm not going to touch it ever damn again. I wasted 300-400k f**king sl on repairing this worthless trash.

You are dumb af if you think this is true. The J2M3 can reach 32m/s in climb rate. It is one of the few props that can scare the P-51H in terms of climb rate. At 6km, where both the 190A8 and J2M3 are losing power due to alt, the J2M3 still has a better climb rate.

Have you tried not being near stall? The J2Ms, sans the J2M4, are some of the most maneuverable props in its BR range.

Ok, you are dumb af. The LF below 4km has one of the best climb rates in its BR range. LF in its name stands for Low-altitude Fighter. Above 5km its engine isn't any good so above 6km yes, the Ki-87 will beat it. Below 4km the LF.IX is faster, climbs significantly better and maneuvers significantly better than a Ki-87. Below 3km the LF.IX is one of the few props in the game that can actually stand toe to toe with the Yak-3U.

You keep talking about combat above 6km when virtually nobody goes up there anymore. 90% of combat takes place below 5km, even up at 5.7. This is why the Ki-87 is one of the worst props in the game at the moment. It is complete trash below 6km.
Is the J2M3 slow for the BR? Yes. But it is also one of the most agile and fastest climbing fighters below 5km. Is the plane no good above 5km? Yes, because it only has 2 supercharger gears. If the J2M3 has a 3rd gear the 3rd shouldn't exist as the J2M3 was a J2M2 with 2 more cannons added and the J2M2 only had 2 supercharger gears. The J2M5 has 3 gears that give it some capability above 5km. That 3rd gear still isn't that good on the J2M5. The J2M5 is also heavier and trades a notable amount of climb and turn for a little bit of speed and some performance above 5km. The J2M5 is worse than the J2M3 overall as a result. The J2M2 should be 5.0, The J2M3 should be 5.3 and the J2M5 should be 4.7-5.0.
