Derek Taylor essentially yeah, bass trombones just have a bigger bell and sometimes has an extra trigger (my bass only has one trigger because i’m a 14 y/o girl and im hella weak n can’t carry a double trigger LOL). bass trombones are basically like tenors w triggers but bigger. feel free to dm me on instagram @stephkwanmusic if u have anymore questions or if u just wanna talk :)

What are the differences between a Alto Trombone and the trombone you are playing?

There is a trigger on it allowing for more tubing, there is more tubing in general, than the bell is wider, and finally the tubing is wider which is why you need a mouthpiece with a bigger stem, examples are the 51 and 51d mouthpieces
