Viewers, pay attention. I have made 3 trips to Vietnam since 2020 and Chris has never steered me wrong. Fat and broke has been my best, most reliable source of information
Yupp same here , the man knows what he is talking about... Very underrated youtube channel 🔥
Tripping son😂
I've been here, in VN, the last two weeks and can testify that the info on this channel is extremely accurate. Not just this vlog, but all the vlogs up to 1/24/2023. To F&B.... great job. As a fellow South Floridian(FLL) you represent us well. Thank you.
One odd thing when exchanging USD at the jewelry stores near Ben Thanh market, they give different rates for "old and new" 100$ bills. I can't tell the difference between the bills. Also, the rate is lower for denominations smaller than 100$(Benjamins). Not all the jewelery stores did that, so I found that odd, but was told it's not uncommon.
Do you recommend to get a vinaphone and sims card there instead of using your own phone
Do you still need COVID insurance and what format (jpeg,) do you download your passport and picture for evisa? Thanks
Thanks for the SIM info, but I've heard there is no official vender type counters. Is there a specific place I should go in the airport to buy it? Thanks!
No bus for me either and it was Jan 3 2023, just passport and visa asked to show , under 15 mins from start of line to getting money exchanged .
Hi I’m worried to get my work laptop and phones stolen any advice they will be in my carryon … do you reccomend me bringing my 17 in monitor in my carryon ?
I heard bring USA cash then exchange at a jewelry store .
Hi, it seems that you are very well versed with HCMC Airport, I have a question, I want to go directly to MuiNe from HCMC Airport, are there any shared Van's which operate directly from there and I can catch them once I land and am done with immigration? Thank you in Advance for your help.
You can catch the city bus for 25c a trip.
is this the airport on your video?
How much cash should I take out when I first get there?
Dude I've never taken a bus upon arriving to Tan Son Nhat when landing internationally
Me neither.
I go to cabs waiting outside, then my wife finds a cab :)
i think if its a long haul flight you will get a gate. I havent gotten a gate in a year plus
From Saigon to Da Lat we took a bus
Never taken a bus from international flight
At the airport when buying a sim, do they activate the card for you? Must you enter the VN number into Grab app? Thanks
Foreign numbers also works for Grab registration, if that's what you are asking.
@@ricklin2804 Thanks for answering. I've registered the app in my home country. So no need to enter the Vietnamese number in when I get there?
@@dallasstorey No. But some driver might call you on that number for communication (most of the time they only text you within Grab).
@@ricklin2804 Thanks for your help
Cheers for the great tips mate, super helpful 🤙
Can you stay here (Vietnam. . . I’m visiting currently) or you have to leave every 3 months and come back?
Great video.
Thank you !
Last time I was in Siagon, I booked a car to pick me up and straight to my hotel.
Booked using a site call "Viatour", just another option for people.
Bus 109 from the airport! Private company, busses to district 1 every 15-25 minutes...15,000! They are awesome!
Hello, I just want to ask which bus to take to district 1?
109
why the immigration line is slow? I think we mostly know the reason why it takes forever to stamp that passport.🤑 😅 . like F&B said Vinaphone is fast, also ALL major phone company is own by the gov. Viettel, Vinaphone, Mobil, etcs..
Will viatel work in Thailand? Or there is any sim in bangkok that will work in saigon?
nope
DId you ever think of doing a video about remaining vintage architecture in Saigon?
I missed Vietnam!!! I was there on October 6-9 of this year
I want to own an Aprilia myself, but I had my heart set on the Tuono V4. Just a tad more power.
Can I take Grab from the airport?
Yeah or taxis
Awesome tips. It`s gonna come in handy when I arrive in March. Thank you buddy.
Saw your airport video. Great job! When you come in with e-visa is it the same process? I heard you go to some other area first. Thanks so much for your videos.
Same process
Buy an esim before you arrive into VN. 4g was fast & reliable.
thank you
Thanks for the video. Big help. I'm flying into HCMC in two weeks for the first time from my home in Cambodia. This has been of great assistance.👍
Wah, you kindly did a video on my request!. Thanks
Bro I listen to the people
@@fatandbroke Man, you are like a brother we can count on…to keep it simple and straight to the facts…subbed!
Wow!! Thank you sooooo much!!!!
I arrived TSN last night. No bus.
Dunno I never take the bus
well done Chris on your CZcams Channel making the top 10 list, "Ranking Vietnam's top CZcamsrs!"
Have u cross border to 🇰🇭 or Laos 🤭 for visa run
I'm very happy to go to Vietnam in june...and Chris videos is so amazing for the information and tips hahaha
Glad you like them!
Slight nitpick...those mobile speeds are megabits not megabytes. :-) Huge difference but thanks for the information.
Best bet on money is get from your own bank in your country
New to the channel
7:18 SIM card 8:45 Money Exchange
thanks miss
just a heads up, money doesn’t come in bunches. it’s not grapes irrespective of how inarticulate children on youtube say it. secondly that’s bad advice regarding the lines at immigration. people pick the shortest line because when those workers come off their shift the process to shut down and reboot for the replacement staff member is 30mins.
ive gone through that immigration 50 plus times. in a 3 year period. Sir.
@@fatandbroke well then you should have also mentioned not to stand behind anyone holding an infant, at immigration
ur only allowed a month visa. it isn't worth it.
The most helpful tip for me was in your Grab App changing the option from Card to CASH! Me and my buddy didn't know why we weren't able to get grabs bc we wanted to charge our cards and didn't know it was cash till we started using it in the city
you can link your card to GRAB, never had a problem with it. That way didn't have to have cash onhand all the time. Easy

You lost me at the bike 💩
I do exactly what you do to a tee spot on advice. Chris plenty willing Vietnamese trying to take advantage of 1st timers 👏🇦🇺🤣
Hi Chris,
Do you or any of your Australian subscribers know more about the eligibility for an e visa. It says on the viet consulate website According to Vietnam's current requirements please contact your travel agent to arrange a tourist visa application.
Evisa online portal
Hi Chris,
Just some information for prospective Australian tourists. I contacted my travel agent this morning about the e visa. We cannot apply for one in Australia now. This changed last week. If you send your passport to the embassy in Canberra via your travel agent it will be $200.00 Australian. No information on the website for new fees.
What the best prepaid
I watched the line for 2.5 minutes and i got extra 100 people in front of me!
Works for me everytime. U go to the far right of it. Most goto the left lines
