  • Happy new year! I hope 2023 is a great one for you all and many thanks for the support this year!
I also want to apologise in advance for any dodgy pronunciations 😂😆
This video sees me bring the first of many videos to come from outside of the UK to the channel, in the form of the famous Eurostar between Paris and London via the underwater Channel Tunnel. For this trip, I'll be onboard the new e320 "Velaro" train, and having not used Eurostar 8 years prior to this return trip, I was very much looking forward to giving one of these a go in Eurostar's Standard Premier offering. Did it live up to my expectations? We find out in this video!

Date of Travel - December 2022
    Operator - Eurostar
    Train Type - Class 374 e320 "Velaro"

Just to note I will be adding subtitles to this video (and my others going forward) - however this is rather time consuming, so will be up either tomorrow or this afternoon. Many thanks for your patience 🙏

It's always a thrill hurtling home to London at 186mph on a train! And what a beautiful station St Pancras is. Thank goodness it was spared from demolition :)

The Velaro looks great, but it's hard to match how luxurious and futuristic the original Eurostar seemed back in the 1990s!

I’m watching to prepare for a trip! I’m taking my mom to Europe and we’re going from Paris to London for a day so that she can see Buckingham and Big Ben. She is so excited. She’s never been to Europe so I want to make her happy.

I've been on the old Eurostars before in 2009 on a trip with School to Disneyland paris (we didn't use the direct service there, we went across on the RER from Paris Nord) on the last day of term and then during the summer holidays that year I went on it again to Paris with my family. Would love to do it again, the new Eurostars do look nice although I'll agree the old ones were awesome. I'm looking forward to your video of the Eurostar to Disneyland. :)

The reminder of the idiots that voted (mostly England and Wales) to leave the EU is everywhere. Hopefully they can get themselves back in although all the benefits they got originally will be gone lol. Friendship between nations in the 90s to early 2000s then well 50% ruined it for many.
Took this train a couple times many years ago and as someone who has never taken a HSR train it was a neat experience.

Well done! Enjoyed it thoroughly! I experienced the ride on the E320 last year in July from Paris to London and then from London to Brussels! U awakened these memories in my mind with your excellent presentation! Enjoyed the speeding thru Ashford and Stratford International! I am a bit of a high speed train fanatic! In September last year I enjoyed the Eurostar again from Brussels to London and back! The Eurostar didn’t stop a Lille!
I am in Austria - enjoying as well a tremendous railway Network here - THE RAILJET - Top speed 250 km / hr!
Anyway, thanks again and wishing you all a happy and healthy 2023! Bless U!

Great video. When I go to/from the south of France I often find it more convenient to change at Lille. Last time I did this (2019) I got to Lille so early that the check-in for the train before my booked one was still just about open, and the guy agreed to change my reservation as there was still a seat available. That was in Standard Premier, which is well worth paying extra for, as the bog-standard coaches are a little cramped on the new trains.
The older trains were beautiful, with really comfy seats.

  • @SeaUsername

The original eurostars had such comfortable seats and a comfortable ride, seats in the new eurostars are hard and upright, like they're straight out a regular commuter train.

Useful to see as I hope to travel to Nimes via Lille shortly. Changing in Paris can be a nightmare. I think you're a bit optimistic calling the buffet a "dining car". Dining cars were a great institution on British trains and are sadly missed.

Distance wise between station and airports when landed in the city. So train station is the most direct
Train service's has no bag weight limits where plane do.
Plus train is far more cheaper when you book it way advanced. Where plane is a pure headaches trying to find a cheaper ticket's every time

Eurostar shouldn't do an airport style boarding system. The gates should not even close 30 mins prior to boarding! Why can't they be a normal train and let people on board until like 5 minutes before departure.
