Please go in and listen to the god Tommy Johansson. He played guitar in Sabaton until recently, has his own band Majestica but releases new covers every Friday. Sings like a god, plays over 10 instruments himself and makes all the videos himself. Go in and listen and enjoy. He crushes ABBA's the winner takes it all, Queen, Gary Moore and others. There is so much to listen to. Please tell me what you think of him.

Donât think heâs just country, his new album higher has so much soul. He was in a rock band, he is great at collaborating with other artists Pink, HER, Jennifer Hudson, Adele, Dua Lipa (at ACM awards 2024)
I was expecting the full performance. Justin's song, I Can't Drink You Away pairs so well with Chris and Tennessee Whiskey. I thought we might answer the question if it's a pop song or a crossover? Justin is certainly well defined in the pop music lane but he clearly has plenty of other influences that flavor his sound like soul and R&B.

Such a great reaction! Having two singers with different genres in music, sounded really good! Staying true to your vocal identity is really important because each singer very much has their own sweet spot genre. I love this reaction form you! Man, I'd kill to see you react to Led Zeppelin "Kashmir" live at Madison Square Garden or Phil Collins "In the Air Tonight." But I fully agree with you, some are just built to sing in certain genres. But in fairness to Justin, this is a difficult song and he's with the absolute master, Chris Stapleton. It can't be easy to keep up and he did alright. Great video Tara, thank's for sharing!

Well Chris Stapleton covered Metallicas Nothing else matters and it was pretty great.
Watch Kelly Clarkson at the American Billboard Awards in 2018 or 2019 performing a mashup of the nominees. She is so versatile.
My take is that this song is ideal for a crossover genre. It's a country song at its core but has a lot of R&B elements with the cool runs and soulfulness. This means that Justin can stay in that pop lane and it still sounds amazing. I actually think they sound fantastic together.

I think that it is very very very rare for singers to be able to sing in different genres well, and even rarer for them to sound like they belong in that genre. But the ones that can do it are legendary. Linda Ronstadt is one singer that I think that can pull off any sound in any genre.

Sorry Tara, disagree. While I admit that voices will settle in to some genres, there are some that can do it. My example would be Darius Rucker. You do a fantastic job, and I think you have a killer voice.
