Anyone who dosnt know how to plays the TCG shouldnt have a collection like this. Like what business do you have having a collection like this if you weren't in it for the the TCG to begin with? Like wtf ur just in it for solely monetary value and the community dose not claim you.

@@deeppocketmonster I tried putting myself in your shoes and looking at from your POV but seems like I can't see the point of your analogy due certain circumstances being that Basketball is far different from Pokemon. Like for instance never watching the anime or playing the TCG. Thats like Never Watching a Game Or Playing a Basketball Game and Waking up one morning and decided that you like basketball today 😂
How are you able to decide for yourself that I don’t play or watch the anime. I grew up in the 80s with red and blue on my gameboy. I worked at Toys R Us when base set came out. Who are you to assume anything from watching just a few videos on a persons channel. I hope you take a look at how quickly you assumed things and judged me, because other people you do that to may really be hurt and not have as thick skin as I do. Again, your jealously shines through, and I hope you’re able to put that awesome energy you have into something useful that contributes to the community one day.
Pat, you’re right about Japanese promos. I’m glad that more and more influential PokéTubers are opening peoples’ eyes, showing them that Japanese Pokémon cards are just leagues better than English ones.
Amen! I would even go a step beyond leagues and say universes beyond English ones. Quality control has always been excellent in Japan, and they always have exclusives. The American Pokemon trading card company is more fixated on profiting off people and monopolizing rather than focusing on doing the best job on everything.

The intro gave me goosebumps. Holy heck. These cards are just simply GORGEOUS. Thank you SO much for opening this for us, Pat! That common Morpeko artwork had me screaming the most, though. Lololol. I'd honestly would love to see Pokemon make a set of cards in only the Nihonga style (old traditional Japanese paintings).
I'm Australian here, and to hear what would be a promo card from this country, instantly came to mind of the aboriginal paintings, collaborating with a Kangaskhan, to resemble a Kangaroo in the aboriginal culture, especially with Kangaskhan having their little ones in a pouch.
Wonderful video mate, love seeing the special pack, and the Japanese culture/history within the pokemon cards!

The fantastic narration in the beginning, information on how to play the TCG and the interesting historical facts behind the special promo cards really helps elevate the topic on Pokémon cards to another level. Definitely an amazing part of Japan's history in modern hobby. The the lady is actually hold Pikachu on her chest and not on her back. You can see the lady's hand below Pikachu and the kimono is facing from the back side. Love this special one of a kind piece of art and truly something to have in a collection. Too bad not many can own this and it'll be 1 of many I wish to collect.

Absolutely gorgeous promo cards, thanks for sharing. As far as collabs go, I'd love to see a pokemon x mario kart to see what crazy stuff they come up with. Animal Crossing would also be great, it's a highly successful Nintendo game with potential for some amazing crossover art.

Do you know why they stopped using the old backs on the Japanese cards? The old style looked so much better, also do you know if any newer promo's used the old backs as a one off?

I finally managed to get these two cards in PSA 10. I remember watching this video many times, dreaming of the day I would have them in perfect condition, and I did it! Now the goal is to get the box.

Being a baseball fan, I would definitely enjoy a Pokemon fused with a Japanese baseball themed card. Seeing Machamp with 4 baseball bats in hand would be beast.

No way I have a poster of the great wave on my wall and if I ever had to make a Pokémon collaboration I would do a Yugio collaboration specifically with the gear golem cards and do a Pokémon Easter egg where it is Pokémon who are driving the golems
