It's easy to use this pedal.
Put it in front of a 6505 or a 5150

Set the Phase 90 at 10 o'clock

I picked one of those for the first time a couple months ago! Man, it dishes out a surprising variety of sounds for having just one knob and fixed wetness. Great pedal, MXR will probably still be making ‘em in 2075.
I've got this pedal and also a little mooer triangle buff fuzz, when you kicked the big muff on and started riffing out all could think of is wanting to play. I'm gonna go jam!
Now I known how one of my fav bands-Real Estate-gets their sound from!!
i always thought they were pretty heavy on the reverb, but i never looked into it at all

Have an old Fender Super Showman ( SS1000) head w Fuzz- Phase4, and Reverb . Cant get Phase to work, so thnx, gonna find a used pedal, cause this augments my sound preferences. Thnx for the demo & explanation.

7:20 sounds close to Bad Love. On an unrelated note, I love this sound and am trying to inexpensively get Pink Floyd sounds with a clean slate currently. (I have no pedals at the moment)

Anyone use the MXR Phase 95? Been thinking of getting it over the Phase 90 because you get both Script & Block tones in one pedal along with a Phase 45 Script & Block. Personally I don't care for the 45 tones but hey it's included.
Marty what else were you using besides phaser and distortion? You had the Eddie hazel sound going.
See, Marty doesn't need an expensive Script version to sound amazing. Just saying.
Should have done some Waylon licks. Great use of this pedal.

The "Script" version is softer, less harsh sounding. Nice on "Shaft" octaves, and used with care gives a fender rhodes vibe to chord work. Flange is proper funky. I use it more than chorus or wah. It's chewy man🌴
does the envelop begin when you start playing or constantly?? Thats what I want to know I wnt to grab this today. More for leads in certin spots or working it lightly with lightly working with my whah with the swell low.
What do you think about it not having a true bypass? Does it kill the tone or not so noteisable?

Hi I have the Morley wah pedal and lately I have inserted the mxr m101 phaser 90 pedal into my pedalboard and I am having problems with the wah wah, practically when I turn on the phaser the wah and as if it were off do you know what causes this problem? or maybe i need a buffer?

Hey Marty. What’s a cheap but good looper pedal
Marty’s got a Boss RC-3 looper on his board (@1:55) - tbh it’s pretty affordable and has a good variety of features. There are lower spec models, like the RC-1 or TC’s Ditto Loopers, but for the cost the RC3 is excellent and hard to beat.

The modern made versions of the Phase 90 sound horrible. It looks like the classic unit but sounds nothing like it. I thought mine was messed up, but investigating online I learned it has a ‘feedback resistor’ R28 which can be clipped. This changes the harsh modern sound and makes it softer and closer to the older Script model sound.
