  • This documentary revolves around the idea of love and marriage, for what is free and what is being forced. ''FRATERNAL POLYANDRY' The practice of sharing a wife among two or more than two biological brothers. Most of the women did it because of their tradtition and not out of their own will. In many cases they are being forced to come under this practice which is the violating of human right saving right to freedom of opinion and expression as well as the right which says no one should be held in slavery . The strangest part is that it is still in practice and few families are practicing it till now which is against the law passed by Honourable high court in India. The problem lies in it being forceful and called as tradition. LOVE is kind, it is free, then why we have to change its definition or make it forceful for any reason?

Polyandry was widely prevalent before the spread of Islam, There were large number of matriarchal socities that practced polyandy of many different kinds,,,
Today this tradition only survive in isolated pockets where Islam could not reach,,,

Woman body is more prone to serious infections such as UTI,Vaginitis and HIV due to multiple intimacy with different partners but nobody talking about this in entire comment section. Therefore, considering the women health this practice is illegal and illogical.

Dis ritual was practiced because it was a need of the time at that moment as dis place was cut off from rest of the country with limited land and resources. May be at those time women were forced to get married like this but still they had more rights and freedom .if they wanted they could have taken divorce at those time when divorce was a taboo in rest of india. Moreover women were also head of the family..Today this tradition is now on verge of extinction still some people practice it according to their will, these days no one is forced for such marraiges . So i just hope people understand this tradition without any prejudice or pass any wrong judgement for the community because for people here dis tradition has saved their families and let their ancestors survive nd live in brotherhood in this harsh rough terrain

snowflakes mystery cannot agree with you any less ! Thank you for taking out time and writing this . Love and marriage is precious and soo valuable only when it’s free and not forced or imposed . It was indeed the need of that time . Wait for my second part of a docufiction on the same topic where there are people I have interviewed who loved this practice and were so happy being indulged in it . My perspective was just to show these two different angles of the same topic . Things are beautiful in their own way as long as it’s not making anyone feel imposed and exploited.

Well also if people are not having issues with these rituals and are not being FORCED to do so then no one shouldn't be bothered about that. shouldn't these people be given more freedom to continue their lives as per their wishes...cause its their way of living...happily together

there is nothing good or bad in it, but yes if its not following the democratic rights of any citizen , it will definitely be pointed out. cultural awareness is a must . the times when it used to happen were not the same but if its happening now also forcefully in a country like India, its a shame.

Ajeeb hai. Muslim men to char beewi rakh sakte hain or hum jaisee aurtain ko to bahut hi zaydah dard or dukh hota hai ki patni ke rahte hue pati doosri shadi kar raha hai or idhar to ulta hi hai. And pati ko koi taqleef nahee hoti kaya? Waise dono hi kharab hota hai ep pati or ek hi patni hona chahiye. Africa desh main aadmi ki bahut sari like 10 se lekar 12 patniyan hoti hain or wo bhi theek se rahti hain . Par dheere dheere kam ho raha hai
