on a side note, the spirit blossom skins are absolutely beautiful but other than that I love this rundown about Syndra and how easy it is to understand how she works! Hope to see more Syndra games in the future
her new passive reminds me of old cass passive but more modern, in that its not just stat buffs

It doesn't make sense to have an ult with shorter range use Q with a longer one, like she can create balls in further location from nowhere but if she throws them with high velocity they fly a shorter distance? It makes no sense. Actually throwing balls with high velocity would be a good argument to have the ult range bigger then Q, but that would be OP.
regarding the execute bar i guess it works as such: if guy drops below 15% while being bombarded with spheres, he dies. That means it is kinda pointless to paint 15% bar on a guy, if he is already below 15, you kinda know he dies from r and if he is over 15 you will still have to estimate whether your ulti brings him down to 15 or not, which renders this 15% bar almost useless.

they should have the execute bar already calculate the dmg it takes to kill at 15%, just a QOL sorta change.
Yeah the difference with this execute and others is that it's always 15%. All other executes I believe have some sort of scaling, so they require the bar because the execute isnt always the same, but for syndra it's always the exact same threshold. I think having a line would still be helpful though.
I belive it's harder cause the threshold keeps moving on how many balls u have spawned...
i like the new passive, it's like a mix of viktor and senna passive. i feel like she would actually be viable as a mage "support" now, since she doesn't need as much xp anymore
I feel like the ult upgrade is worse than what it used to be... Q changes are nice tho! But she still struggles in late game against tanks and hard engage/assassins (can't be strong against everything), so not much really changed.
I think they should really step in the infinite stacking, like 5 AP per 10 stack past 120 stacks, Veigar sadly wouldn't be unique anymore but it really fits Syndra unlimited power vibe imo.
Syndra’s new play-style seems, to me, to be meant more of a defensive oriented one. By that, what I mean is she seems to have great wave clear for counter-siege and strong zone control. Sort of like how Illaoi plays, I guess; meaning you want the enemy team to walk into you rather than you walk into them. Because it seemed to me that any time Pekin tried to go on the offensive and/or chase down fleeing enemies, he basically got steamrolled.
-Drop a bunch of orbs on the ground to initiate/establish control over chokepoints and objectives and punish/peel/chunk anyone who tries to enter into that area.
-interspace cooldowns by rotating between Q and W to tactically modify your area of control, while Using E defensively to control enemy spacing, interrupt enemy initiation attempts and/or to turn the fight when the enemy mistakenly walks into your controlled zone.
-R obviously to execute important or chunked enemies.
As for R’s execute range, i think that it would be easier to calculate 10% of the enemy’s max hp, then add half of that 10%. Afterwards, you look at each orb’s individual damage to calculate the number of orbs you’ll need to execute the target.

4,000 x .1 = 400
half of 400 is 200
400+200=600
So you would need enough orbs to drop the enemy below 600 hp to bring them into execute range, plus one more orb to execute. Similarly, an enemy champion with 2k max hp would be at half that (300) and 3k max hp would be at 450.

As a Syndra main, I'm not happy with this rework. Damage over the board is decreased early/mid. Q not spammable, ult range...
10:57 I'm pretty sure that Eve's Q AP ratio is even higher than that if you manage to land all parts. The initial spike has a 30% AP ratio and marks targets. The next 3 attacks/abilities vs. marked targets deal bonus dmg that has a 25% AP ratio which happens 3 times for a total of 75% AP ratio. And then the spike damage itself has a 30% ratio on each of the 3 spikes which is a total of 90% AP ratio. Unless I'm reading the wiki wrong, I think that's a 195% AP ratio which is just absurd but also shows how much Eve needs to land her Q since if she misses the initial one, she loses a whole 105% AP ratio from her burst rotation. That's especially impactful since Eve often stacks a shit ton of AP with her meta build being rocketbelt mejais dcap and can get almost 500 AP when on fully stacked mejais and those two items.
When mejais is a core item you know the champ is well designed

I'm so excited for this. The midscope to Ahri made her feel so good and I am ready to play more Syndra! I've always loved her character and lore.
I quite like it, actually. I think it modernizes her kit and makes her a bit more dynamic. It takes away some of her strengths, but gives her new ones to play with - which is a good direction IMO! She feels a lot less ultimate reliant, and her abilities are much better now. Much more versatile and easy to use
it's a nerf overall. You are relevant if you lane bully and junglers don't show up. You don't even get benefit of killing ur opponent. It makes syndra ultimate focused champ. if your ult is not up you are kinda tingling enemies.
@@sangamo38 she now has a guaranteed passive at 9, just like she always had if you did q max. she has the ability to get it earlier,. now with scaling true dmg on her w, which was always a bit meh. 15 percent ap at max which makes her late game much better, which was also weak. still has good aoe, wider stuns, more burst for short trades which is more relevant than sustain as a mage, better scaling on her ult and the range was never important with her stuns anyway. am i stupid or is she not just plain better?
@@joshdixon288 she is plain worst. They removed the bonus damage on q, and it has longer cooldown. They giganerfed her laning phase, doubling her most used spell cd. They removed "the intended e interactions ;)", which made her really strong to sicure hitting the stun, and to get max ult value you now need very specific set up.
The e seems way shorter even though larger, but lenght is way more useful than width.
Her ult has a good execute on 120 shard, which is a toxic change tbh, still both her w and r damage got "nerfed" to consider the 15% ap. So the passive kinda changes nothing:if you give 15% but remove 10% scaling it is pretty much nullifying the buff.
The only buffed part is the w, which is similar to live, but you can finally max it 2nd so you get the big chunk at level 12 instead of level 18.
@@menionleah1730 you need far far less setup than before to ult combo- pekin even says this at 9:00 . longer cooldown is irrelevant for her stun combos and only really affects the first few levels. she is still secure with hitting stuns, the ult is better with execute, she has better ap scaling across the board instead of focusing it all on q? thats a buff to me?
@@menionleah1730 also keep in mind that yes she's losing a bit of early game, but she's definitely better later. this is so much more important post dura. she also has better sustain in lane cause of mana regen, and the ability to 2nd max w because of no cdr on levels on e. i also dont agree that length is more important that width on her e, because with a wider e, you can r the frontline of a team, qq and e and thats 5 balls of stun going straight through their whole team... who else can stun a wide team that easy?
after the rework maxxing w second is better. E max second was mostly due to lower cd and it doesnt get lower now.
This system didnt work with Cassiopeia when they tried it, I don't know if it will work for Syndra.
I do think new Syndra looks very very solid though. I like that they arent changing her mechanics at all, recognising how much time Syndra fans have put into that part of her, and instead rewarding her for using her kit properly.
It probably will, Unlike Cassiopeia, Syndra is not a battle mage, cassio having so much ap while having an incredibly high sustained damage was just too much, Syndra on the other hand, needs as much Ap as posible to do one Big round of Burst damage to one or maybe two targets, and they are cutting down her early a little bit in favor of better late scaling, wich is important in a post durability game

Was wondering what you think about this: I think you might want to max W second on Syndra now instead of E, since they changed the E cd to a 14 sec flat at all ranks, and since your w will get upgraded before e, it will benefit more from the bonus true damage if there are more points in it

On live, the true damage for W is 20%, but from what I've seen so far, you're basically there with the AP ratio by the time you've got 80 splinters.
I’m quite certain that the reason there isn’t a execute bar for Syndra is that her R dmg is magical while Chogath and Pyke R are true dmg. 15% health on enemy doesn’t guarantee a kill with Syndra ult considering MR while Cho and Pyke ults do.
it would still be helpful just for a bar to show at 15% hp, and you have to calculate if syndra r will get them to bar. like how they did with elder dragon. With elder drag you have to calculate if you get them to bar because the dmg isn't guaranteed like true dmg.
Interesting to note that you don't get level up splinters until you use your level up token on an ability.
Separately, I wonder if you get the mana if you do a splinter-granting action after getting to 120 stacks?

the reason why they might decided agaisnt execute indicator is maybe because they see it as an ability to master as a player to know when it executes. like it was back in the days, and i guess it is still at darius . thats what riot said once they were asked why some have indicators and some dont.

You're supposed to max W second now. That was part of the goals with her changes according to the Rioter who reworked her. E doesnt give cooldown and its dmg is down too. W is far more worth leveling second and allows her to burst much earlier. Thats part of why they made E cooldown shorter baseline.

She can still use her EQ combo. And I think now maxing W second is better than E because the E cooldown doesn't reduce with leveling up anymore.

So there is kind of a bug. See that left orb, you just pushed him behind you. So it hits orbs being close next to you just straight away, no matter if it's the stun direction or not.
Even tho rework looks nice, I dont think it hit the mark as it didnt solve her main problems. Her cc/peeling ability is still clunky and her ultimate is still negated by tons of champions/items. Not sure what wider E means, i dont see it have any usefulness, I'd rather increase its range as you would have to walk up to them anyway to follow up with rest of the kit.
Having a wider E is going to make her, Q,Q,R,E combo way better and give better team wide drums

Hmmm dunno if its UK Ping but E into Q hasnt worked for years for me about 2 years ago its stopped working for me and had to q into E even then sometimes if i e'd after q too fast it still wouldnt work i did have 43 ping though maybe thats too high for it? Also you max E second on live cause it does decrease the E cooldown so you can stun more often also q e poke it mega range. But yeah now it doesnt lower cooldown is swap to W max second. Deathcap 2nd or 3rd is gonna be core aswell stacking its passive with your 120 splinters passive.

Would rylai + liandry synergize better with new Syndra E? It already slows but would it stack with rylai passive for a perma slow effect? I think Everfrost would be also a good mythic for her for that util play style.
Not going for Ludens reduces your full combo burst by quite a bit. Maybe she can actually go for a more controlling and kite focused build but I doubt trading your oneshot combo for better DPS and utility is worth it. Your E already is one of the better area controlling abilitys in the game.

I think the only thing good about the double Q stacks is that you can Q Q rapidly b4 you ulti for more ulti damage but in extended fights its probably a nerf

Play her support with the gold share item, faster stacks from hitting 2 people, and free cannons from the gold share item. I played syndra support before but now it seems even better.
No lol. It means you sac exp for being support, which means you will hit powerspikes much later than solo laner :p so i dont see her sup will work very well

so basically, they nerfed the q cd but gave it 2 charges with scaling, they nerfed q damage late game but still, 2 charges, but overall id still consider q itself to be nerfed, they buffed w by a small amount (ap scaling on bonus true damage), they made e ridiculously easier to land and the combos are less clunky, then they nerfed her ult dmg but now you have more orbs due to the 2 q charges and it has an execute. id consider this a hefty lane nerf and a late buff, if you get to 120 splinters its kinda insane
E is a pretty huge ability to have just a 50 mana cost tbh.

This Varus was first time on a PC I feel.
What I realized is that you cannot do E+Q any more to get a delayed stun which caught many people off guard. Kind of a nerf but it was and looked weird so maybe for the better

i thought about it when you talked about caitlyn one shotting you, there was this time where IE didnt require 60% crit to be effective so most adcs (including cait) would just rush IE, so you had a crap ton of ad and 35% crit dmg but only had a 20% chance, but if you were lucky and you got a headshot crit on cait with only 1 item you did like 70% of squishys, it was so toxic
19:30 i believe this execute ist the biggest buff she could have gotten! She got a point and click execute which helps either with taking out the carry or enchanter. Or finally leads to breaking the frontline or the enemy jungler in a smitefight
Pekin was fed, and that 15% execute never worked (or wasn't necessary in the few time he ulted low hp Cait/eve). Imo it's a huge nerf compared to the range she used to have. But more true damage on W, splinters giving mana on proc and free 50/70AP are decent.
Still not enough to make her meta, especially given her ult range, clunky CC and mobility. Her E needs something else than "wideness", it's useless.

The R-upgrade execute looks _extremely_ bugged because there were several times where someone should have died and it just didn't trigger.

I like the overall direction of it. Just wish they reduced the strength of her Q + E AoE stun which makes her so strong in pro and gave her some more stuff to make her unique. The whole "moving while casting with no stopping" feels so good but they really don't take as much advantage of it in her kit.
Also, optimizing around her ult with orbs also feels weird. Wish they would change it a bit too.
They did they literally nerfed the stun duration to 1.25 and removed the 0 reaction time E+Q combo...
@@GouacheGaming : Ah, I didn't see the stun duration nerf. Just the rest. Not bad then, wish they made her ult more interesting and not so much like a Veigar ult but based on how many orbs you have.

i dont know about this rework. I like the way she is tbh. Only way im down for this is if they give her 3 charges on q....i mean she has 3 orbs flying around her it would make sense, to make it less op they can put her passive to 3 hits instead of 2.....I think this would be a bit better imo
