Thats my dads truck. Purchased on April 7th and on his way into work doin around 60mph a car swerved into his lane and hit him head on on April 14th. I have all the pics from it.
Me too! Lol
Nice truck, that looks like a challenging project. Keep up the good work! Keep it simple. Don’t turn into another Greedaquad.
At Least Now you can watch it being rebuild 😁
Hope your Dad made through the accident safely.........
2024? Does it come with a flux capacitor?
The thing I like best is that nothing intimidates you. Swap a frame? No worries. (1st thumbs up!)
That's his business...
Dear Ben,
I must say that you have a lot of guts to completely disassemble this Ford F150 truck and rebuild it on a new chassis. For me this is absolutely mind blowing so I can’t wait for your next vlog and send you love from the Netherlands
This should be easy for him, did you see him do the mclaren? now thats crazy
@@arubianmacho hi, well I signed up with Ben’s CZcams channel after I saw him for the first time working with the brothers of the Goonzquad channel and at that time Ben already finished the McLaren and haven’t had the time to look for Ben’s post regarding the repair of the McLaren
Enjoying the content Ben. The short-ish builds are actually good
If you think really deep, this ain't short-ish build. It looks to you short-ish because he works differently than other content milking CZcamsrs.
i agree im liking these quick turn around builds
Detroit is in Michigan. It probably came from the Chicago Plant they make interior and exterior stampings as well.
Done several frame swaps in my youth, and yes it is the best option, and just time consuming. Keep up the great work Ben.
Great project Ben! Love watching you, your brother and Goonzquad. Thanks
Goonzquad is shit show 😂
This is going to be a great series. For one person with a little help you did a amazing job stripping it down. Love your channel and content.
When it comes to swapping a frame, the best way is really to remove parts and immediately install it on the new frame right next to it, that way you dont forget anything important as you're doing it. The worse part comes when you have to swap over the axles and the old frame isnt a rolling chassis anymore
Seems like you haven't seen his previous build like McLaren! This ain't nothing for him.
Usually the first parts you take off are the last ones to go back on. Do you expect him to put the bed on the new frame right away?
I doubt the vtuned the expert frame specialist won't have any problems
so glad the woorld has you to chme in to tell experts what they should be doing, especially with all of your not having any credibility at all
lol. That isn't the best way, that IS exactly the wrong way. First off the old frame is last on the new one.
That's exactly the same as my truck. Same specs and color. The color is more of a grey than white and its called Avalanche grey for 2023 75th year anniversary only (not 2024). Mine has just over 900 miles. Its crazy to see it in that condition. Looking forward to this series!
Ben,, I am truly excited about this project. I cannot wait to see you apply your skills to switching this frame. After all, you did do a frame (body) swap on your Maclaren!
We know you can get this done! Brad De Berti and his father did it on his channel and what a great vehicle once completed.
You are truly a master of your craft, and what you said about actually going and looking at a vehicle you plan to bid on is very true. I am on my third vehicle rebuild and have been bitten twice by the damage being worse than what you can see on the auction pictures. I wish I could get you to work on my current build a 2022 Ford Bronco Sport Outerbanks. I have to replace the whole front right quarter of the vehicle, and since I don’t have a frame machine nor do I know how to weld I have to get that part done by a professional. Luckily I have made a deal that I will remove everything including the engine and interior, assist with removing the old damaged parts, paint everything, and put it all back together. The professional will do all the frame work and welding, but I would love to bring it all to your shop and work with you on this.
Some may ask why did I get this if I don’t do framework or welding, and to that I would say that it was an accident. I put a low bid on something that at a glance didn’t look to bad, but I never expected to be the winning bid. I guess I won because the damage was worse than could be seen, and it had been covered up pretty good. To tell you the truth, I would rather be replacing that frame on that truck than what I’m about to do on this Bronco. Oh and by the way, I have almost all the parts now brand new from the dealer (I got a huge discount).
Wow Ben, you aren't picking the easy ones to do are you? It'll be a great series to follow. Thanks for the videos.
Mad skills this guy posseses, nothing is to much for our VTune.
Wow Ben, you took on a big project! Can't wait to see how your pull this one off and how it pencils out for you. Good luck man!
Got to be a lot easier then the Mcclaran , good call on the new frame and a great save from the part out !!!
My brother leaves behind this wonderful car. Jesus Christ bless you always Hugs from Amazonas Brazil
The shifter goes down so that you can have a work station. It’s an option where the center console folds forward to make a desk. You have the 401a package that comes with clothe. Most of the 402a packages have the center console work station
And makes for easy date night!
I am curious the total cost of this after the build. This build really reminds me of the mclaren not only the color but transferring the whole car into a new tube this time it is a frame.
This will be a great project to watch from start to finish, best of luck with the new build.
Found your channel recently, love the content. The enthusiasm you have for your work is inspiring.
Just for fun:
You pronounce Illinois with a silent "s", so "Illinoi". Also, Detroit is in Michigan. And I think, from some internet research that the frames are actually made in Kentucky. So, in typical Detroit fashion, it probably went from Kentucky then to Detroit then to a distribution center in Chicago and then to you.
Pedantic, I know, but the more you know, the more you know. When I moved to Illinois, I pronounced the "s" and was ruthlessly mocked. Then, there is a village called Des Plaines which I pronounced De Plaines and again was attacked because it's Des Plaines with the "s". I mean, go figure, it's Illinoi, but Des Plaines. Don't even get me started on Dekalb!
Rumor is Vtune is moving into GS old shop once they relocate! Go Vtune!💪🏻
This is going to be a huge job, you've got some guts to take on a project this big, but if anyone can do it you can. Looking forward to watching this build.....yoo da man!
Nice bro! They are a quick deal just make sure u use a 12point socket on the drive shaft bolts and not a wrench it will get jammed up if not! The gas tank is the only aggravating parts. Pull the aprons before taking the cab off
great project...big one. you definitely need to keep track of where everything goes. Hard to imagine 400 miles..they drove it right from the dealer and into (probably) a concrete barrier.
Hey Ben, If you can do a tub replacement on a McLaren 720S I'm sure you can do a frame swap on a ford F150 truck. Your killing it as normal, keep up the great work 🙂
This needs to be turned into a tremor R with the Factory Five XTF frame.
My man, you did the Maclaren, I thought that was an impossible job and you pulled it off, I have faith in you that this truck will get done, can't wait to see the finished product 👍
Can't wait to see this one Ben! Never seen a full frame swap! Best of luck!!!!!!
You won't have any problems swapping out the frame. Just take it one step at a time and you'll get there. I've seen frame swaps on other channels and it's not as hard as you think. With your skills, you'll get through it easily.
Might be worth checking out Factory Five’s XT1. It’s a replacement frame, suspension, front clip and bed for late F150s. This truck would be a perfect donor.
Never heard about this, but it looks like an awesome solution!
Frame swaps aren't that difficult. I haven't done one but when you break it down, just like the manufacturers do, it's all "assemblies" plus many engine swaps are done with cab off. There's really not a whole lot to removing the cab off these things.
I'd wait until you have the new frame then just unbolt from the old, bolt on the new just like you'd do with doors and hoods etc.
Edit: glad to see you got the new frame. Put it on some axle stands in the next bay over, lift the cab off, roll the old frame out into your third bay, start swapping, then wheel the new completed frame under the cab and down you go.
LOL! the folding chair drivers seat killed me. 😆
Folding shifter is so you can get road dome , and the shifter doesn’t poke her in the stomach
Amazing that these guys aren’t scared to try anything in the way of repairs! I love it!
Good luck with that BIG job Ben! That is the way to go on a new truck like that.
Gonna be a good one Ben. Looking😊 forward to this build
Unbelievable truck , when I am big I want one, I will feel so big!
This is going to be fun series to watch... but that chair! LOL! 😂
Man that’s an awesome learning experience, looking forward to see the progress on this truck 😎✌️
Super exited to see more on this build. Great content!!!
Wow Ben, love your outlook on things, you get more content out in one video than the goonies do in 10 ..... more power to you dude, you da boss
Great project Ben! I love that truck, it’s going to be awesome!
love that seat, keep you awake while driving
Wow, such a lost for a 2023 with only 400 miles on it. I found this video only by searching for frame damage work on a 2017 F150. It too was weak framed. I was told from the Collision Body shop that the Ford 2015-2020 Truck frame were too easy to total in most accidents and no longer avalable to replace the total frame. My truck was declaired totaled from the Ins Co and still looked almost new. It will be sold soon when it get to the Auction Yard in Lumberton NC. 2017 Ford F150 Super Crew 2.7L 4WD STx, 75K miles. Currently still pending Claim Settelment from Hartford Ins Co(Nov 18th, 2023)
Ben this is another great build to follow. You definitely got this one. Thanks for sharing your content.
It is an easy job to replace the frame, pull the cab and bed then swap everything to the new frame. You got this!!
Love the pink rims. Here we go. I love vTuned when he reborns a totalled vehicle.
I like what you’re doing with the truck. FYI save yourself a headache when it time to bleed the brakes. Amazon has pneumatic brake bleeder with adapters for $120.
I do a lot of work by myself on euro cars and I love my brake bleeder.
PS. You don’t have to go through Ford for a brake bleed.
Glad to see your back doing the work you do best! Keep it up !
Don't get any better than that the professional at work nice find rock and roll show use how it's done 👍👍👍
Happy to see you do it the right way. Take a lot of pictures for references.
Nice frame.
Looking forward to watching this build.
Keep the hard work. 💪 I am happy for you.
Another great project. I'll be looking forward to future videos.
As a gen 2 raptor owner I’m never getting rid of my truck. But if I did I would get a tremor with the 3.5 and make sure it has the front LSD option. Level it, put 35s on it and be all set. And save tons of cash over a raptor. Good luck getting this thing fixed it’ll be an awesome truck.
Tremors package has the leveling kit and 35s lol
@@Kornatzz I’d level it more I don’t like how they sit
I too remember spending my summers in Detroit, IL 😊
That is an insane amount of work, to remove bed, bumpers, cab, exhaust, fuel tanks and lines. Why not just straighten out frame, and weld something to it to stiffen it. Great video.
lol your joking right....
New frame is the best for the Tremor. 💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯💯
Nice one Ben am loving it and looking forward to seeing it finished. 🇬🇧
love your content Ben !! keep it up !!
Interested in seeing a new frame installed. I’m sure you’ll have it on the street in no time!
best way to go!!new frame, great new truck, alot of work for sure, but well worth it!!!!save ALOT of money,if a person can do the work them selfes for sure!!!
Good luck to you on this one Ben. This will make great content and I am looking forward to it. Cheers, Bob
Great find , definitely change the frame. Strip it but leave engine in til you get new frame then swap it with suspension.
I agree with you. Replace the frame with a new one and basically you will have a new truck with 442 miles on it. Everything new 👏🏻👏🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Looking forward for this rebuild, thumbs up :)
FYI those bolts that hold down the box are single use. Something to do with a special coating on the bolt because of the aluminum bed and steel frame. Dissimilar metals.
Whilst you are putting all the suspension back on, you might as well go put a decent lift on it too.. Keep up the great work mate, awsum content you are giving us.. 😁
I enjoy watching you rebuild F-150’s, just like your 2.7 2wd F-150 you are going to use, as your work truck 🛻, thank you Ben for another awesome video, I hope to see that F-150 Tremor back on the road, with your talent & expertise, I’m sure that it will be on the road again, in no time! 😎👍💯🔥🔥🔥
Great content, keep up the good work!
😂😂😂 .... *"Never done a frame swap"* ...Thats funny 😄 😆...I guess he forgot about the McClaren...All new tub for that joker...😅😅
Great looks like you have a 4th tire to replace the front missing tire and can put anything for a spare tire.
This is gonna be epic ! Looking forward to the next video soon ! V tuned you’ve got some serious skill there mate
Looking forward to this rebuild ! Keep up the good work…
love the folding chair......
Working solo, VTuned is a champ
Proving once again why you’re one of the best CZcamsrs
Seat looks nice😂
I can't wait to see part II of this project. 👍
This was my truck!!!! I bought it on April 7th (Good Friday) from Burns Ford in York, SC and was in a head-on wreck on April 14th, the following Friday. I didn't even get to put a tank of gas in it. The wreck broke my back. It was my dream truck, and a heartbreak to lose it so quickly. I can fill you in on any details. -wade
Dang son!!! What did you pay for it?
@tycurtin7565 I don't want to say due to insurance wrangling. Suffice it to say it was north of 65k and south of 75k. I'm a jeep guy. This was the first new vehicle I'd bought in a long time, and was such a dream riding to work in instead of my bouncy lifted jeep. But I'm glad I was in it rather than the jeep. There was an air bag that came out under the dash that knocked my legs off the pedals. Neat feature I didn't know ford did, keeps your legs from being jammed to the floor at impact. In all, there was 11 airbags that went off. Broke my L1.
This is my truck now, do you have the extra keys?
@TheBarrettbenson I don't believe so, but I'll double-check when I get home. I had an envelope with a valet key but I belive I chilled it after insurance finally totaled it.
@@f3nunchuck140 Yeah, random dude on internet asks for keys. Don't send anything to this guy. He could just be waiting for the truck to get fixed and then he rolls up with keys and steals it.
Great vid keep it up Ben... getter done! 😎
Good old Detroit Illinois. My favorite town.
u did the right thing getting new frame as it still new even its costly at least doing it yourself saving labour it is going to be a nice project
you are the man vtuned you make those builds seem so simply salute to you from trinidad and tobago.....
I love the complexity of the projects you take on. I sometimes question the wisdom but you prevail.
Can’t wait to see the progress to rebuilding the tremor
This is going to be a great series
Glad I found your channel through Goonzsquad.
Always excellent work!!
Lift the cab off, and roll the old frame out to the next bay... then put the new frame under the cab. Then just swap everything over from one bay to another... Sounds simple, but after you do it a few times, it may be! lol ... yes it will be difficult!
Bro that frame crunch looks familiar love it brother.
Bring that new frame inside on jack stands put on the suspension, fuel tank spare tire all before separating the cab
Cool project... I will watch with interest how everything goes with taking care of this car.
Can’t wait to see this build
HI V-TUNED GREAT VIDEO WITH GETTING THETRUCK READY FOR THE NEW FRAME. TAKE CARE. 👍
Props to Illinois-Detroit for building that frame.
Dude can’t wait to see this build 🤛
Swapping a frame is never a simple task but, Ben is more that able to tackle the task. If this man can totally disassemble a McLaren and replace the body tub this should be less of a challenge.
No challenge is to big for Vtuned! You got this brother! Keep up the good work! I remember when your shop was Creswells before you bought it.
Cool project.
