We must have several celebrations and sports and happy things to create a feeling of oneness between all communities. Caste system will not go away without a good rapport & friendship between everyone. And there must be situations to create this friendship and rapport. This cannot be achieved with reservation alone. And when we talk about eradicating caste system, it seems pretty difficult from what I see in this country, since caste seems to be connected with one's ancestral and cultural identity. It is not easy to make people abandon that connection. There will be equal opportunity for all to be their best, when the discrimination stops. The problem is not exactly the caste, but the discrimination or the superiority & inferiority complexes associated with it.

😁😁😁👍👍👍 but sathi is different in origination, what I heard was in those time muslim kings put a tradition of remarriage of hindu ladies to a muslim whose husband had died. This was a fight between them who in no way accept intruder tradition and sathi was started. In Ramayana there was no sathi as King Dhasharatha died leaving three wife, Vedas also doesn't support sathi. Any way in mahabharatha one sathi incident shown which means it is rewritten over times.
Varun, I've heard that initially many women voluntarily committed suicide after their husbands' death...Evidence of widow suicide is evident in some Indo-European cultures...Aryan culture is a product of that Indo-European culture and when came to India, it got solidified..What the women did voluntarily earlier on later became a norm and a law and a social problem..

The basis of caste system is not really Hinduism, but race and ethnicity!...We are missing out on some serious points if we avoid talking about race,ethnicity and anthropology...
Now, coming to Hindu scriptures, Jathi (caste), and Varna are not the same...In scriptures, it's mentioned that someone is a Brahmin only by his/her deeds, not by birth..However the "Brahmin community" continued Brahminhood only through their own Jathi,through their own children..Hence, sadly, in practice Jathi became equivalent to Varna...Brahmins definitely had the right to teach scriptures to their own kids, and so their kids could become Brahmins..But they didn't allow people from other castes to learn scriptures and attain Brahminhood;that's their biggest mistake..The reason for that is racism...Casteism is nothing but racism;if we don't address that, we are missing the point!!

ബ്രാഹ്മണ്യം എന്നത് ഒരു ജീവിതാവസ്ഥയാണ്. സാധനയും ജപവും തപസ്സും ആചരണങ്ങളും ജ്ഞാനവും കൊണ്ടുണ്ടാകുന്ന ഒന്ന്. അങ്ങനെ ഓരോ ജീവിതാവസ്ഥ തന്നെയാണ് വര്ണ്ണങ്ങളും. അങ്ങനെയാണ് രത്നാകരന്, ജപവും തപസ്സും കൊണ്ട് വാല്മീകി എന്നാ മഹാമുനി ആയി തീര്ന്നത്. അങ്ങനെ ഒരവസ്ഥ അനുഭവിക്കാന് താല്പര്യമുള്ളവര്ക്ക് തപസ്സിലൂടെ അത് നേടാം എന്ന് പറയപ്പെടുന്നു. വിശ്വാമിത്രന്റെ ജീവിതം നോക്കിയാല് [രാമായണത്തില് ഉണ്ട് ] അത് കാണാം. തപസ്സിലൂടെ മാത്രമേ അത് ലഭിക്കൂ. സംവരണം കൊണ്ട് ലഭിക്കില്ല.
ജാതി ഇതില് നിന്ന് ഭിന്നമാണ്. അതായിരിക്കണം ജന്മം കൊണ്ട് മാത്രം ഔന്നത്യം ഉണ്ടാകില്ലെന്നും, അങ്ങനെ ആരോപിച്ചാല് ധര്മച്യുതി ആണെന്നും പറയപ്പെടുന്നത്. ആധ്യത്മികാമായി സമീപിക്കുമ്പോള് ബ്രാഹ്മണര്ക്ക് വിധിച്ചിട്ടുള്ള ജീവിതചര്യ ആത്മീയ ഔന്നത്യത്ത്തിനു ഉതകുന്ന ഒന്നാണ്. അങ്ങനെയാണ് അതിനു മാഹാത്മ്യം കൈവന്നത്.
ഉച്ചനീചത്വങ്ങളെ ഒരിക്കലും ന്യായീകരിക്കാനാവില്ല. ഉച്ചനീചത്വങ്ങളും അധാര്മ്മികമായ അവസ്ഥയാണ്. പക്ഷെ, ബ്രാഹ്മണ്യത്തിനു ഇങ്ങനെ ഒരു വശം കൂടിയുണ്ട്.
