    Another fun and fab video. Just before you showed the two patterns made with Man Cave, I thought, "I wish Donna would show the same fabric made in two different patterns." Voila, you did it! I was going to write my "idea" in the comments before I even continued watching, LOL! I love it that you remind people that any 3 yards can be made into any pattern. Then you showed the same quilt pattern in two different fabrications and I am in heaven. Thanks so much.

      As an Australian I would love to see the metric sizes mentioned at some point, I grew up with feet and inches but we all converted to metric measures in the 1970s, it's doing my head in remembering how to measure in inches now that I want to sew quilts. There's so few Australian resources to check this out on and I love your designs. I want both queen and king sizes for myself and my children.

    • @FabricCafe
      @FabricCafe  Před 3 lety +1

      @@AnitaSouthall I can understand that! On our website, fabriccafe.com, we show the sizes of our quilts in metric. an example: Finished size of quilt: 44 x 60 inches (111.76 x 152.4 cm). I use google to convert between the two. Thanks for watching! Donna

    • @FabricCafe
      @FabricCafe  Před 3 lety +1

      @@AnitaSouthall If you look on our web site, we give the metric sizes of the finished quilt size in the description. When working with one of my pattern instructions, go to google and search for metric conversion. it fast and easy and will convert every measurement. I often use my voice command on the cell phone to say, convert inches to centimeters. Hope that helps! Donna

      Hi Kathryn, You need a 3 yard kit for a lap, two 3-yard kits for a twin and four, 3-yard kits for a queen/king. Our books include patterns for 8 quilts in 3 sizes. A general rule of thumb is to make twice as many blocks for a twin and 4 times as many blocks for a queen, king. Because borders and bindings change with each quilt, if you need specific instructions, we recommend one of our books. Our books include patterns for 8 quilts in 3 sizes. Thanks for watching! Donna

      /hi Zona, So glad you joined us! Three, one yard cuts of fabric will make the quilt top, borders and a single fold binding. If you want a double fold binding, add 1/2 yard. Shouldn't it be called 4 yard fabric? 1 yard for backing? I a newbie so forgive me if this is a strange question. Thank you.

    • @FabricCafe
      @FabricCafe  Před 3 lety

      Hi Cynthia, thanks for asking! It take 3, 1-yard cuts of fabric for everything you see on the front of the quilt--the quilt top, the borders and the bindings. You will need an additional 3 yards for the backing. We have a free download sheet on how to do the backings at www.fabriccafe.com/Free-Goodies-s/1916.htm. Donna

    What kind of batting is used and the measurement?

    • @FabricCafe
      @FabricCafe  Před 3 lety

      Hi Danita, the basic size of the quilts is 44x 60. This varies a little dependending on the way the pattern utilizes the fabric. So they can vary ie: 46 x 58 or 42 x 62. i like warm and natural batting. Donna

      Great Question! From 3 yards of fabric, you are able to make everything on the front of the quilt --the top, borders and binding. You will need to purchase an additional 3 yards for the backing. Donna

    Patterns r good, but it would be good to see u actually tell us the sizes to cut like Jordan fabrics and make a quilt, I can't buy your patterns as I'm in India. It would be useful if u told how many pieces to cut what size of at least one pattern
