So update. I just got my EC201 yesterday, I had ordered it through Sweetwater January 18, 2022 but that did not pan out. I kept getting updates from my guy Josh but they still don’t have them as of January 31, 2023. That’s not a knock on them they seem just as frustrated as I was. That said I did see that zzounds and AMS got just a few so I ordered one through them and like I said just got it. First impressions are that although it is clearly listed as a satin finish it is much shinier and the binding stands out way more in the pictures in person it’s very subtle I don’t mind at all it’s just that it should be mentioned as it is considerably different than the promo pics. Fit and finish is really good although they could have rounded over the nut more it’s kinda squared off and sharp. Other than that the satin feel is very slick the guitar just feels fast. All in all I’m pretty happy with it. Fwiw

I just bought one last week, still has to show up, there was a deal on it on AMAZON for only $550 instead of $600
If I upgrade anything it would be locking tuners, nut and a DiMarzio Air Zone DP192B! Stock pickup would probably do the trick though!

I have the m-201Ht it’s a great guitar
One year later and I was finally able to grab a TE201 at AMS. I have been looking for a more "metal" styled Tele guitar for a couple of years. The TE201 being 24 fret was a big part of my decision.

one thing i'm really not liking about these, is on the reversed headstock models, the high E string has a hard time sitting flush in the nut slot. ESP has a weird angle on their reverse headstocks that i haven't seen with other guitars. the stock nut definitely doesn't seem cut to accommodate for the aggressive angle it has

Thanks for this! I've been eyeing the TE for a while, but haven't had the chance to play one. Seems like a quality guitar that isn't so expensive that I'd feel silly upgrading it.

I love the one humbucker LP style. I always wondered why one pickup in an LP never became popular. I'm a minimalist by nature and I bought the matte black LTD ec 256. I think I may need to grab the 201 or save the cash for the black metal version 1000$, ouch.

I just cant decide to get the 201m or the black metal (dbl the price) or the ltd sn1,vwhich i really want but its 1200$ USD. Ive played LP shapes for most of my life but these LTD M shapes with 1 pu, 1 knob just make me go all misty eyed...😉. Ive been waiting for 1.5 years to decide. Im thinking SN1 but then the EC 01s came out this year. I just dont know...
I love the TE. But hopefully they'll do a Viper at some point
Love my 201, except the tuners (garbage) and pickup (not for me). But the build quality and QC is decent. Got to me and it’s lovely!!
Took a while to find it though, finally found the last one I could find LITERALLY ANYWHERE in Europe in France. So because Brexit is a pleb, cost me an extra £200 to get it in the country.
Still, it’s begging to be modded. 🤘

i have an arctic metal m-ht from ltd already, and want a 2nd guitar as a mod platform/backup. im so stuck between the M and the TE! they're both so nice looking
if only these would have a set neck or a neck thru. Not a fan of the esp bolt on joint. Especially with that price, it's quite ridiculous these don't have a set or neck thru. Well the explorer and les paul shape has those, but why not the M model? I would buy a black metal one second hand instead of these.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t look like it at this point. That doesn’t mean they won’t eventually, but I wasn’t able to find anything about LH versions of these models.

I'm not sure. The ESP website has them listed as "New For 2022". Sweetwater says they expect them "in the next few months".
@@dmanguitar Sweetwater said the boat arrives to USA end of January 2023 and then they will ship them out to customers

@@dmanguitar curious why would you want to replace the fixed bridge with the "Hipshot 6 string bridge" ???? Are the LTD ESP fixed bridges not very good or something?
The LTD bridges are fine as far as I know. I was just giving examples of the things you could “upgrade” if you wanted to. The Black Metal series use Hipshot bridges. Good question! Thanks! 🤘
