I only started watching older anime recently and I’ve gotta say, holy shit they’re good. Nowadays anime just contains a bunch of fan service, while, back in the day, anime was just so poetic and beautifully illustrated. There are still some good shows, but it just doesn’t compete as well as the older shows. I finished Evangelion about a month or two ago, and I’m currently watching Monster. I’ve also watched Ai No Kusabi, which also is amazing. I have a feeling I’m gonna be stuck in this rabbit hole for a while and I’m happy I gave these amazing shows a chance.
Yeah that’s a huge difference between anime back in the 90’s and 80’s was a time when anime was made for a smaller audience because anime wasn’t popular back then so people had to thought of some creative thinking anime nowadays is much easier for manga artists because anime is distributed on a much larger scale

I know it's likely you have already seen it, but I just have to say it. Cowboy bebop is the other obvious one to do instantly. I also recommend metropolis, and anything by the guy that made paprika, such as Deep Blue.
90s and 80s were a completely different aesthetic and I find myself at times going back and finding a new anime in that era to watch. Even something as "shitty" as Those Who Hunt Elves or Ruin Explorers gives off a vibe that you just won't see nowadays. In saying that, I do like how anime nowadays are more likely to adapt the source material faithfully and even fully. They've found a happy medium of quality to be able to adapt entire stories without having to speedrun or do original endings. I like anime from just about all eras. The different eras are like different restaurants for me. I don't like to always eat at the same place.
People shitting on the infamous Sasuke frame have no idea what they are talking about. Animation is a medium to convey a message, a story in this case. This frame is part of a greater set of frames that make up a fight. Each part is there to make up for the entire fight. You don't judge a house by its brick, you judge it on how well those bricks compose the house. You don't pause to analyse the fight (unless you want to analyse the technical parts of the animation itself), you watch it go piece by piece so you can judge the fight in its entirety. It's about the motion, not the stillness.
brother I study animation and although I don't publish what I produce here on CZcams currently I understand these concepts, in this case what happened was that when I was editing there was a problem with copyright and I had to re-edit everything and I lost my examples, I barely managed find example images XD so I took the easiest ones I found
It seems like nowadays a lot of the effort goes to a few scenes or to only fights. While old anime use to be about overall continuous quality. Garden of words is one that is consistently. I've heard Violet Evergarden is also. I cant think of many that have a consistent high quality look or wow factor that old anime does.

While I agree with the sentiment, I think it's kind of cheating to compare films from Eva, Akira, and DBZ to the stuff studios have to put out weekly as the shows. Evangelion sure has some janky shots and issues keeping characters on model, especially in earlier episodes.

Maan to be honest At the time I edited this (I didn't even know how to do it right) I just wanted to lengthen it a little, to tell the truth, the original edit was with the original Little Dark Age, not this remix, however, as it was copyrighted, I had to delete it, but I didn't want to lose the work, so I did a basic touch-up and used the remix to avoid this problem, so much so that that's why the edit doesn't go very well with the song, the original version was much better
