  • Following advice from James at DCCtrainautomation, (‪@DCCtrainautomation‬ ) purchased a different type of switch decoder and in this video I show how I installed the new YaMoRC switch decoder to control my MP1 slow motion point motors that operate the points in the TMD. I end with a quick night time running session operating three locos. I hope you enjoy, like and subscribe to the channel.

      Cheers Paul and thanks for not rubbing in the score line from last weekends rugby! Yes I'm finally getting to work the layout and now the trains are running I can work more scenery in.

    Hi Steve Its all good experience, lol hopefully I will take some notes off you when I eventually start my layout (hoping to use some MP1's and YaMorRC but they are always out of stock). Thanks

    It's a good feeling when you finally get stuff to work that has refused for a while.
    I must admit I do prefer the snap of the old solenoid because I know it has happened !

      @@lynganddistrict Steve, we all make mistakes, it's part of the learning process. I have made more than a few.

    Hi Steve, just caught up with you, you’re knocking videos out quicker than Blockbuster’s used to!
    Wiring fills me with fear, I’m a fairly intelligent guy I guess but as soon as I look at instructions for wiring my brain goes into shut down! I’ve got loads of wiring to do and I’m sure I’m going to have Hassell somewhere. You’ve done really well there mate and I’m glad you got it sorted!
    Cheers for now, John

      Thanks John .... the electrics aren't an issue, it's planning them that gave me the headache and no matter how careful you are you will always end up correcting it! If there is one tip I can give you is plan as much as possible before hand, and use connecting blocks under the board and don't solder anything under neath.

  • @gwrbuckleyjunction1733

    Brilliant Steve very busy weekend that’s my next big job lol point wiring and a buss wire am not good at electrical stuff so should be interesting lol

      Cheers mate ... good luck with the points. Crawling under the board was not my favourite part but that's what's needed.

    Looks like you're having a very productive time at the moment Steve! First lighting and now point motors! That decoder looks like an interesting bit of kit! Do you know if it only works with the MP1's or can it operate any servo motor? I'm wondering if it would work with the micro servos I'm going to use! Oh, the night time running session was great! All the best, Ian.

      @lynganddistrict  Před rokem +1

      Ian - check @DCCtrainautomation u tube - czcams.com/video/bRvPxCmOs3A/video.html there is a separate solenoid decoder in the brand - very much similar to the DR units but upgraded and easier to use. If you have questions just ring James up he is always happy to go through any queries you may have.

    hi, thanks for your video how do I connect this Yamorc point motor switch unit to my Rocco Z 21 do you have any ideas? Thanks

    • @lynganddistrict
      @lynganddistrict  Před 8 měsíci +1

      Hi - It should be quite simple. Power up the Yamorc and press the small button on the bottom right which puts the decoder into program mode. The red light should then be flashing. On the hand set or screen select switch's and press the number assigned for the first set of connections. i.e. 9. The red flashing light should then go out on the Yamorc and it then automatically assigns the next set of connections as 10, then 11 sequentially.
      Check out Graham Foulston's videos here www.youtube.com/@GrahamFoulston/search?query=roco%20z%2021%20set%20up
      or go to DCCtrainautomation here www.youtube.com/@DCCtrainautomation
      they are experts at this - I use a Digitrax system and its dead easy.
      Hope this helps
      Regards

      What I should also say is don't have any point motors connected when you first program. Then once programmed, switch the power off to the Yamorc and then connect the motors.

      @@lynganddistrict many thanks for taking the time to reply much appreciated. How do I connect the YD8116 to the Z21 physically which wire goes where. Thanks 👌

    • @lynganddistrict
      @lynganddistrict  Před 8 měsíci +1

      @@stevio7777 - when you look at the decoder, at the bottom it says input and has two terminals. Connect a wire into each terminal and connect the other end of the wire to your Bus wire or direct into your Z21 unit.
