- What was the lesson that Anakin taught Ahsoka in Episode 5? A lot of people didn't see the message behind the flashbacks and they thought it was just fanservice but in this video I explain what the true meaning behind his final lesson was.

“Behold, I am not Ahsoka the Grey, whom you betrayed. I am Ahsoka the White, who has returned from death." - Ahsoka
I’d say one of Anakin’s masters is the force itself - to understand Anakin, is to understand the force. Now Ahsoka is at peace. 😌
there were other ways of the show making a point, than to have him lose so quick to Ahsoka. he was training her, so obvs he threw the fight to see what she'd do, but many wont realize that. if she chose death, he wouldve just used stopped her with the force.great episode tho altogether
I think this episode helped really push Ahsoka forward and it going to help her finish training Sabine.
It's also the belief in one's self or one's coices. He told her that she lacks conviction and tried to make her fight and believe in her convictions again!
If aything it's not about life and death but about living or dying as Anakin chose his words as; When it came to it Ashoka was given the same choice as Anakin when he was about to behead Count Dooku, Anakin choose to die and became Vader, Ashoka choose to live and stayed true to herself. I feel like the Ashoka the white memes also feels true, at first she prurified her sabers meaning she no longer fights for the sake for either side after leaving the order, now true to herself she only lives for her values purifying herself shown by her new apparence.
Thanks man, I feel the same way. It's right in the mythos of star wars .
Ashoka refuses to train Grogu After all this happens.
She killed the main antagonist in the mandalorian already.
Sorry I’m a 50 year old life long Star Wars fan.
But my 1st impression of that entire scene felt pointless. It looked great. Nice to see Anakin. But was that really him? Was it just a dream. If it was just a dream he taught her nothing she taught herself. Also felt like I didn’t even know Ahsoka was struggling with light and dark. She’s always been good did the good things.
The scene felt like it was very much fan service. Live action clone wars moment.
That boiled down to Anakin saying. Hey Ahsoka you can do it.
I like the show the scene looked good. But the over point felt lacking. I didn’t know Ahsoka needed to be told hey be good. Because I never knew she wasn’t. Just my opinion.
Whether it was a " dream " or not, is not the point. One could argue life is. Her takeaway from the experience is the key. Anakin, being " real " is a moot point to the story being told... and doing good things does not make you a good person. Intent of your choices has value. Good and bad are relative concepts. Ahsoka needed to understand that she has the " choice " to determine possible outcomes. His experience need not be hers. She needed to hear that from her Anakin or " Anakin " so that she could grow.. i.e. The Final Lesson
She literally created the grey force lol which she struggled many times with the light and dark. Not in the shows but books and such sure did this how she ends up making the grey force to begin with by understanding
It was not a dream. Anakin references luke's words to him, which ahsoka wouldn't know so this is the real Anakin here to teach her
@@jamessouthern5989 well there you go. If her grayness is laid out in the book that many people myself included did not read. That makes this scene come across as lacking. I have watched every thing Star Wars offers. I have not read every thing Star Wars offers . And in what I have watched. Yes she was in a war. Seen a lot, war is horrible and takes its toll. But I have felt Ahsoka was never slipping to the dark side. And that she now needed Ghost Anakin to give her a pep talk about her being a good person however many years later. I enjoyed the scene it was a fun good moment. My only point is. The so called deep message I feel didn’t land or come across all that clearly.

I thought the books werent cannon anymore? And overall I agree with your points. I think these forced narratives out of nowhere is somehow considered "deep" for some people.
I think they didn't nailed the lesson in the end......I walked away knowing all the lore, everything that they've done with both characters......thinking, I don't get it.
I explained it in this video. The message was very clear if you paid attention to the episode
I said, disney didn't nail the lesson......if you need a video to explain it, then they failed with their story telling.
Live or Die was too simplistic....I didn't think it suited her philosophy.....as she was never ie taking on more than she could handle or being reckless (think Lethal Weapon......the lead didn't care if he died etc)
I think it was more a case of letting go of what she could become, because of Anakin.
It's a pity his face wasn't perfect with the CGI, but still great to see him back.
if you need disney to take your hand and tell you word for word what the lesson was then you need to pay more attention to the dialogue that was being said in the episode. The lesson isnt simply "live or die." It is much deeper than that as I explained in the video. She had to accept her past and learn to start living her life because this entire time she has been held back by the burden of what her master became and she has been scared that she may be led down the same path. If you think in any way that this lesson that anakin gave her was "failed storytelling" then I truly dont know what else to tell you. The cgi on his face was also not noticeable at all@@Designsecrets
@@exjdawgNo need for you to get so aggressive. Someone just has a differing view of the scene, it's not an attack against you.
@@exjdawg Hard to believe that you might be wrong? If you need someone on youtube to have to explain what actually happened....then I think they did fail with their story telling. "Live or Die" seemed too simplistic....if the story was meant to resemble Luke giving away his hate for his father, and not killing him, then yes......they failed on that account too. If it was about her 'making piece' with Anakin, or his legacy.....then I'd give it a 5/10......definitely wasn't a masterclass at all.
Well said!
Amazing episode. I’ve saw much Hellraiser and Saw themes in this Anakin and Ahsoka training. Quotes like “Live or die” by Anakin (Saw) and “I choose to live” by Ahsoka (Hellraiser) made it perfect to me since I love Saw and Hellraiser is my fav movie (Star Wars was my fav movie until I watched Hellraiser)
I'm not sure that's exactly the message of the episode.
thats word for word what anakin said. I just explained in depth what he said. Ahsoka is held back and afraid of her legacy, but she needed to accept all parts of her legacy and continue to live her own life.
No, you stated some things Anakin indirectly implied or directly stated that are questionable.
I agree with you 95%. I disagree that the Mace situation applies here.
@@thehalfricanguyi even showed images of what Anakin said to Ahsoka and it is exactly what I said in the video. That was his message to her
@@exjdawg kinda. Again, you're 95% right.
100% agree
My favourite line is when Ashoka tells anakin she won’t fight him. And he replies
“I’ve heard that before.”
Reminiscent of his fight with obi wan.
"Anakin chose life" by saving Luke. Also anakin dies a few moments later in Lukes arms.
Meh. It still doesn't make any sense. The whole thing was pointless as is the rest of Disney Star Wars.
This all happened before she meets Grogu and Din.
She still refuses even after this lesson with anakin…?
No, the Ahsoka series takes place AFTER she meets Grogu and Dinn. The Magistrate, Morgan Elsbeth that Ahsoka fights in her debut episode in Mandalorian Season 2 starts off imprisoned in the Ahsoka series. She was imprisoned following her fight with Ahsoka.
She met Grogu before finding her inner peace/learning her final lesson from Anakin.
Now I’m confused. Why are you saying she refused to train Grogu because she didn’t find this peace yet. And was afraid her Padawan would turn into anakin.
But Grogu happened AFTER all this and she still refused.
Grogu was before this
Without anakin the series is junk.
