One of the greatest song of Elvis. I have it on all my playlists. Gives me goose bumps!
He was on fire. 1968-1970 I always think of as the golden period of his career. Just about everything he touched turned to gold. Now that I think about it...his voice in the comeback special 1968, his voice in these recordings here 1969, and his voice in Nashville and on stage in Vegas 1970...They are like three different people. Each one of them incredible.
Any Day Now is a fantastic song done to perfection by Elvis and his band. What an absolutely incredible arrangement. Always did love this much underrated Elvis song.

Damn! It is getting to the point that I'm almost in disbelief... how is it possible that Elvis covered so many songs and just Killed them all? This is another pefect example of Elvis' amazing voice and song interpretation.
This one definitely shows off his range. Just love his voice.Never tire of listening to him. His vibrato just takes his talent to the next level in my opinion. Especially since he didn't have to learn the technic. He was just born with it and I love it so much!!!!😊 Great choice John.

This has to be one of Elvis,s most underrated songs, the dynamics of melody at just sublime.
His vocal majesty takes the lyrics to another level, his bluesy gritty raspy tones intermingked with breathy sweet tones not forgetting that heavenly resonating and undulating vibrato, his phrasing emphasizing the poignancy of the emotive narrative, and all delivered with the utmost passion and conviction.
It's clear to see how much you enjoyed listening to that track John, being a musician yourself you will know i ts no easy task to pull off a performance like that, kudos to the musicians whose arrangement enriched the sound immensely.

This is one of Elvis' most diverse songs for me. Because it is technically unlike any other conventional Elvis songs; there is a different feeling and a different timbre. Admittedly, From Elvis in Memphis album is the best job after Elvis Presley's debut(1956) album. Only "Elvis is Back" and “King Creole” albums can challenge it with his bold content. Ultimately, this album is much more professional. There is no doubt about that.

The range and power of his voice were remarkable, adding to his gift was his ability to transition from highs to lows or lows to highs fluidly and effortlessly. I doubt we'll see another like him.
No, there will be no one to ever beat God given Elvis with his talents. He is a once off MASTERPIECE for every one to admire, love, enjoy his music, be uplifted etc. Great that we may still see and hear him sing!

This was recorded a month after the 68 comeback ... with a marathon of other tracks first time recording in Memphis since 55 .. four hits came from these ( Kentucky rain .. suspicious minds.. don't cry daddy .. in the ghetto .. another vocal masterpiece!! Any song Elvis sings is amazing. He puts so much emotion in everything he sings, whether a love song or a real rocking song. Take a listen to It's Now or Never. He actually has 3 octaves. No one has or will ever sing like The King.
Just a note. I like the fact that while Elvis is singing, you don't interrupt the song to give your comments. You wait until the end. Other people on youtube constantly stop the record 2 or 3 times to make their comments & it's annoying.

John, you may find this of interest if you don't already know it, but a little known fact is that Elvis' favorite singer was Dean Martin. Elvis purchased an early Dean Martin record just before he entered high school and Dean Martin's easy style of singing was very inspiring to him. I believe that in Elvis' first recording session at Sun records, one of the two songs he recorded, Blue Moon of Kentucky, had been previously been recorded by Dean Martin. It's a little known but very interesting fact.

I used to have all his albums on vinyl. Kicking myself for giving them away when I moved overseas back in 1987.
This is the first time I've ever heard this version of any day now also! I think I remember hearing somebody else do this song during my mother's days when she was a disc jockey and playing the song that I can't put my finger on who actually did the song because I was so young then.
