Hi David, my only time seeing Bob Dylan was on the Time Out of Mind tour in Toronto over 20 years ago. I love Dire Straits and that is an excellent pick. We're in agreement as I too never want to hear Money for Nothing or Walk of Life again either. I tried that Brand X album at some point, and despite being a big jazz fan the fusion style is just too much for me. That was a funny story of your trying to record Wind & Wuthering from the radio. "Couldn't Stand The Weather" is a great one among all the Stevie Ray Vaughan material of which I have all of it. ✌

Just come across your channel and I am very impressed by the content. I watched Maslov's video and it spurred me on to leave my 10 in the comments. They are 1)Chicago' 2' (Makes me smile) 2) Santana 'Caravanserai' 3)Jennifer Warnes 'Famous Blue Raincoat' 4) Roxy Music 'Viva' 5) Clark Hutchinson 'A=MH2' (1969 instrumental album based around Indian Ragas) 6) Indigo Girls 'Rites of Passage' 7)Average White Band 'Lets go Round Again' 8) Van Morrison 'Astral Weeks' 9)Clive Gregson and Christine Collister 'Home and Away' (British folk duo live recording, great songs and vocals) and finally a change at10) Charlie Mingus 'Tonight at Noon'. Made me realise I don't look to The Beatles, Stones, Dylan or even Joni Mitchell that much.

thanks for some new suggestions. I totally agree on Your Own Special way on Wind and Wuthering (although love Blood on the Rooftops) , my favourite Genesis most listened to is Nursery Cryme. My other favourites to just put them out there are Dusk by The The, I Just Can't Stop It, The (English) Beat, Back to Black, Amy Winehouse, Disintegration, The Cure, The Queen is Dead, The Smiths, Excitable Boy Warren Zevon, Secrets, Robert Palmer, Eldorado, ELO, Aladdin Insane, Bowie. There are more but these are go to's.

Hey David!!! I love Hejira as well. The cover was taken at Lake Monona (two miles away for where I type this!!!) in Madison, Wisconsin USA. Joni had just broken up with her boyfriend and she was in town to play a gig. Feeling low she grabbed some skates and went out on the lake with her friends one of whom was a photographer. She got the day of her life and we got her best album yet. Lucky us. I will be home in England in October to see teh family. I'm from Middlesbrough and it's always nice to get home. At first I was afraid your list may contain pretty much standard stuff. However, you have included many superb albums. Joni
Mitchell wrote and recorded many excellent songs, Brand X were IMO very underrated, Pat Metheny and Lyle Mays is not easy
to get into but so rewarding, I know some Leonard Cohen fans would be aghast at Ten New Songs being favoured above earlier
albums but I also think it is the most listenable. Everyone should have a Steve Ray Vaughan album in their collection. I can’t pick just
one Steely Dan album as I think they are all superb and I still spand a lot of time listening to them. I was surprised to see you
included a gem and almost unknown album, that being Peter Hamills Fireships, one of his more introspective works, apart from
the music I bought it for the cover art. Great video and very thought provoking.

Totally agree with Wind and Wuthering. Desert island album for me, especially Blood on the Rooftops. Your Own Special Way was good in that they could finally have something for top 40 stations. They had hits in the UK and especially Italy, but no play in America. Here in America, we had AOR stations that would play old and new rock cuts, then top 40 that played the same current stuff over and over. Making it on AOR was OK, but it was all about top 40 for massive success. First time I ever heard Genesis was in 78 with Follow You Follow Me, which for a top 40 hit, still had a lot of musical credentials. Invisible Touch was really the only one where they went far too pop for me. Check out a newer band - War On Drugs, that are making old school life-affirming music. Start with " old skin" from their newest, then " in chains" from 2017

I love 'Follow, You, Follow Me' - such a catchy and 'light on its feet', song. By far, the best track on a pretty average album. I appreciate that 'Your Own Special Way' was an important breakthrough track for them, but they were capable of much more in the more commercial sphere.

The most listened-to albums aren't necessarily lifetime favourites, which could be several albums from the same artist or band, it's more to do with (over a recent period - say 2 years) which albums do you select to play most often.

I’ve never seen anyone with such a completely different musical taste to myself. But I know we are all different and there’s no right or wrong when it comes to musical taste. Except rap music, that’s just wrong.😂

Telegraph Road is a great track. Private investigations is also good. But Industrial disease is rather weak. Imho it lowers the overall quality of the album.
