I am from India and ashamed that not even one percent of Indian cities is this tidy, well maintained and silent. No stray animals on the roads! No honking! The adherence to order and silence is unparalleled! Japan truly puts every other country in the world to shame when it comes to public hygiene, sanitation, cleanliness, politeness and orderly behaviour of its citizens. Japan is crowded, most crowded cities tend to build elevated highways to make the best use for the space they have. As for US, US does not need to build elevated highways because US have plenty of land and US rarely build highways in the middle of the city. If US does build highways in the middle of the city, it'd be under the city like the Boston Highway Tunnel and Seattle Tunnel. US have the greatest highways system in the world, they are huge, wide especially in Texas and Florida

As a Japanese living in foreign country, I estimate the reason of free traffic jam is that this video was taken in the covid-19 pandemic era in Japan so amount of traffic was decreased significantly. And April 30 of 2021 means the starting day of Japan’s spring holiday week so called “Golden Week”. Most people were taking a rest in their homes.
As an American, Japan will always be the best of what Asia has to offer imo.. everything is superior even over video. Pleasant people for the most part, clean cities, good roads, Mazda🙌, architectural simplicity, the best history, the best food, the best politically and socially, and the most naturally beautiful

Population of tokyo itself is roughly 10 million. So called greater metropolotan area as whole may have 35 mil people but that includes a lot of other cities and municipality from diferent prefectures. just like in this video he went to yokohama which is considered as part of greater tokyo area but yokohama itself is capital city of kanagawa prefecture.

Absolutely beautiful view from the interstate/freeway. I find the light but humming sound the car makes against the pavement as well as its gentle stops and starts very soothing and stress relieving. Having listened to rain showers and white noise for relaxation, this video combines visuals into the experience. These 4k drives are available in big cities around the world, some of my favorites so far are Stockholm and Chicago.

I've been a little obsessed with Japan in the past two years and I swear, every time I see videos of Japan I start to think how Japan is 1st world and America is 2nd world.. LOL. They just seem like they on a whoooole other level than we are. And dang, everything seems to be supa fly over there. EVERYTHING.
I love how little thinking it takes to understand Japanese traffic control devices. I don't speak any Japanese and can tell just from context what everything is for and why! The red lanes are also super visually appealing.

Japan has the highest suicide rate in the world. There is a reason for that. While Mexico may not be as rich as Japan, Mexico is the richest country in the world culturally and artistically. Also, the best food on the planet. I live in Canada and I would move to Mexico any day.

I'm from California and the thing that's so odd compared to our Japanese neighbors is the lack of advertisement boards next to highways. Here in the United States it's near impossible to not see an ad board next to a freeway unless you're far away from civilization (i.e. cities or major population centers) and it's so refreshing to not see any in this video.
In many areas of Japan, the installation of advertising billboards is regulated to protect the landscape, and roadside billboards often require permission from the local government.
Tokyo looks so clean considering it's the world's largest city. No trash on the road, no graffiti. I like that. 👍

As a Japanese living in foreign country, I estimate the reason of free traffic jam is that this video was taken in the covid-19 pandemic era in Japan so amount of traffic was decreased significantly. And April 30 of 2021 means the starting day of Japan’s spring holiday week so called “Golden Week”. Most people were taking a rest in their homes.

You must slow down to around 50kmh for the toll gate. They are working on installing faster ones that work at full speed though.

Having listened to rain showers and white noise for relaxation, this video combines visuals into the experience. It is great to see they drive on the correct side of the road. No marked police cars, destination signage in Japanese and English and everybody polite. No horn blasts. Wonderful.

I'm from California and the thing that's so odd compared to our Japanese neighbors is the lack of advertisement boards next to highways. Here in the United States it's near impossible to not see an ad board next to a freeway unless you're far away from civilization (i.e. cities or major population centers) and it's so refreshing to not see any in this video.
In many areas of Japan, the installation of advertising billboards is regulated to protect the landscape, and roadside billboards often require permission from the local government.
