Spectacular detail and an amazing gift for your friend’s wedding. That Defender is a fine looking machine. The proportions and stance are are awesome. But ohhhh that black paint. Harper, what I would like to see on your channel are some reviews of products that are readily available in the UK and the states. One brand that blows me away is Turtle Wax Hybrid Solutions. They make a product called Graphene Acrylic Tire shine and coating, which imparts 6+ weeks of inky black matte goodness. Turtle Wax back in the day used to be a box store dad favorite, but the Hybrid Solutions line is outstanding and professional grade

I would usually pop the gazebo up, but thankfully it wasn’t to hot.
The sun is a great inspection light though as there’s no hiding from it 👍🏼

You certainly are, but with this job in particular it would have only been 1-2 microns.
Newer cars tend to have 100-150 microns so there is plenty to go at 👍🏼

Never allow the dealership to 'detail ' your vehicle, always take it to a professional detailer.
Dealership staff have to rush jobs because of time restrictions, and they're not always trained to a high standard.
It’s unfortunately out of peoples hands sometimes as usually happens at the factory!
I’ve done private work at dealerships and some of them have 20 cars to wash in & out a day

They are left behind from rotary polishing.
The marks should have been further refined to remove these defects 👍🏼
I’ve never used anything like that citrus pre-spray stuff before, was that just because of all the mud or do you always apply that?
I tend to use it on the lowers sections and back of the car. It’s a slightly stronger concentration to help further remove dirt 👍🏼

They are created from incorrect rotary polishing. Basically not allowing the polish to breakdown or being to aggressive.
After using a rotary you ideally want to finish down with a DA machine like I was using

How did you manage to polish in direct sunlight without paint swelling/marring?
I was going to put my gazebo up to help control the temperature, but it didn’t get hot at all. It was quite a cool day so for quite lucky I guess.
I was in the shade when applying the coating though
What polishing pad do you use (the red one) ?
It’s a shinemate pad, it came with the machine.
I would usually use a lake country but couldn’t find it
You did an amazing job Nick, it's wrong that a dealership should let a new vehicle out like this, but some are just to busy and alot of the staff aren't fully trained in machine polishing, what was the ceramic coating you used please
