Great, truly, it seems like every episode I watch from this channel becomes my favorite and this one is no exception (if only there was an established phrase I could quote to adequately represent this phenomenon); the anecdotes and personal asides are wonderful, as integral to the whole as the sledgehammer critiques themselves.
Great video. I’ve got Tom Falcons Spider Woman in four Complete Collections which sadly only go up to issue 67. I’ve only read the first volume but plan on bumping the remaining 3 up in my “to read” pile due to that sweet shot of Seth in serpent form. I’m keeping my fingers crossed this story line will be in there🤞!
@@SonofNimrodIdiot Nice. Glad to hear it’s in there. I was bummmed when they discontinued the complete trade collections but I’m pretty sure they started or are going to start collecting them in epic form. Hopefully I can close out the series in that format.
If I know Marvel, they will likely lay the Epic Collections out to make it so that they do not line up right at all for someone who bought the previous versions and there'll be 5 issues stuck at the back of their Vol. 4 that were not in our Vol. 4. They will probably also include the Darkdevil miniseries that they shouldn't've skipped the first time but also a bunch of other shit to pad it out (I think Spider-Girl is in some issues of A-Next).
I like Seth's later red hat and costume more than the original green cobra hat. The entire issue is beautifully illustrated by John Buscema. It's funny, but I almost felt like I'd read this issue before, but then I realized it is just how prolific John Buscema was and how used to seeing his art I am.
There were a series of new age books about Seth-an alien or ancient being (?) she could channel into her consciousness. I had to look it up-her name was Jane Roberts and she looks like the Jane from Grant Morrison's Doom Patrol.
Looked her up and her first book was titled "How To Develop Your ESP Power"... later retitled "The Coming of Seth". It went from sounding like a guide to a novella.
fred van lente and greg pak did a great incredible hercules issue where thor and amidius cho face off with the Egyptian goddess of war and love. it was a lot of fun. thor doesnt think too highly amadeus though.
Spent ten minutes trying to remember this story, I think I remember it, didn't it have a cover with Amadeus as Vishnu? Like he had multiple arms and he was sitting meditating on the cover.
I can't even remember any of their names. Earth Lord? Earth Mover? Sky Lord? I can't even remember the third one. I remember the guy and the girl (possibly called Tempest? Breeze? Sky Rider?) but not the third one. And they're all on one of the covers in this. And I still can't even recall what the third one is.
@@SonofNimrodIdiot Earth Lord, Skyhawk, and Wind Warrior. They returned late in DeFalco’s run to fight Bloodaxe. I have no idea if they were ever used again.
@@robert2430 They were still occupying back-up stories in the Annuals by DeFalco’s last one (Citizen Kang would it be?). Solo story with Earth Lord if he’s the right one I’m thinking of. I would wager they show up in an issue of Thunderstrike I’ve never read. Maybe Spider-Girl as well. I know one of them got a handbook profile in 2010/2011.
I don't like Marvel's Odin... I just don't like him. One day he's nice, the next he's a jerk. But always boring. He's also dull to look at. You'd think he would look a little more "super heroey" for Marvel, rather than just being a stereotypically historically wrong depiction of a Viking king.

I agree entirely on Seth's original design. It's like he's shown up for SDCC with a bad King Cobra cosplay.
