Lex you are so right. People have always tried to put us in a box and missing the mark. We did respect boundaries. We respected others boundaries. But at the same time continued to break our parents boundaries. It's been said in the 70s everything goes and it did. It was like you do your thing and I'll do mine and we will all have a good time.
Yessss!!! I feel that through the music
@@BradAndLex I believe you really can âđđ€
Just for all those out there that didn't get Teresaia's reference saying 'everything goes', she meant "Anything goes".
So very very true
Like any distinct era It was a different level of consciousness of how people view each other and the world and was a more organic way of experiencing life.
This isn't just any love song. It captures the vibe of a time when women were cherished and respected. She was the one you were smitten with, not your buddy or anyone else from the bunch.
"Here in your arms I've found my paradise my only chance for happiness " damn I miss you Jules this was our shit right here woman. Miss you pretty lady
The Bee Gees lift and cherish women, as the should be. Good for them, they are doing it right.
As an old man - I was 17 when this came out - this music makes me so melancholy - that it's almost debilitating. The paper trail of my life leaves me wanting - and as I look back it hurts the soul to think of things that were possible - yet never contemplated or attempted. More than a woman is like a knife to my heart - what happened to that young man holding the hand of Susanne as they left the movie that Friday night after seeing Saturday Night Fever.
yep.. I can relate.. and I too was a teen when it came out.. nostalgia is such a double edged sword.. it's great to reminisce but hard to look back at what could've been.
So weâll said, youâve explained how some of the music of our youth feels now; it does hurt sometimes
O my goodness.. just sitting here tonight with my husband saying how painful looking back at my youth is.
Knowing how wonderful it was and yet I'm unable to go back and do it all again.đ
Love love the Bee Gees. Xx

Same here!
Say you'll always be my baby, we can make it shine. We can take forever just a minute at a time.
Lex is so smart. She has special abilities. She has "visionary" ability. She can see things through space and time and is an empath maybe a master empath.
Living through the 70's I just remember the amazing variety of music being produced each week.Soul, pop, disco, rock. My music tastes included Led Zep, The Carpenters, Stevie Wonder, The Sweet and many many others and of course the Bee Gees. The soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever was huge and everyone would be having house parties with the guys trying to put on the Travolta style.
@ Matlock Lane certain radio stations have been airing old episodes of Casey Kasems countdown shows from the 70s and 80s. I heard one from 1970, and it was bizarre. They had Engelbert Humperdinck and then Led Zeppelin. Another one had Perry Como then Black Sabbath. It was so odd, I thought it was a joke. I was expecting Ashton Kutcher to come on and say we've been punkd. Who even knew Perry Como still had hits in 70? I was born in 69, so I never heard top 40 back then. My first music memories were the 76 disco era. So yeah, the variety was scary good
Even if you don't fully connect with this the production sounds so good you can still appreciate it. That goes for pop, country, soft rock, etc, etc, etc,. Not that todays producers aren't talented but the pre-computer production has such a deeper richer feel to it. 70s and 80s studio production was so good.
EXACTLY !!!!
I agree with what Lex is saying about 1970's music, and how that time did have a feeling of everyone belonging, and living amongst ourselves in peace without worrying about personal beliefs. The 80's was the same way for me. Post 2000's people with these crazy ideas have RUINED how we all interact with one another. Excellent reaction to a beautiful song.
You sound like your parents did in the 70âs
post 2000's people are mostly children Lori, stop blaming other people for your problems.
Takes me back to 79
The fairly new doc on BeeGees is amazing. GOAT!!
I agree Lex, music of the 70's is comforting. I think it was the innocence within the music and the time! I was born in the early 70's (1971) and my mom played great music day in and day out when I was little. I knew the singer and their songs before I knew what cartoons was! No lie/ No cap!
1970 here I loved being a kid in the 70âs
Lol Lex, you'll need to react to more punk. There is great easy music in the 70s, but also some stuff intended to challenge comfort zones.
When 'Saturday in the Park' wasn't just a song but a way of life
As a kid of the 70s, my mom also had a radio on all the time and now I'm an absolute vault of musical knowledge...most of it useless. Lol
Lex is right, the 70's music had an amazing and distinct something to it. I was a young kid in the 70s, but during my teen years in the 80s, no one I knew listened to 70's music (except people's parents, and me). I remembered it and listened to more of it than 'current' 80's music at the time. 70's music had a great vibe to most any of it and an abundant variety that has not been present for the most part, since then.
This may surprise both of you but the Bee Gees have an extensive music catalog pre-disco. So far you have only heard their disco-era, but some day i hope you get to explore their earlier music. Thanks for reacting to this.
And they wrote a ton of hit songs for other artists that everyone would recognize. They were very prolific song writers
Do you say explore or explode
Yes they do and that's great also, Bee gees are just absolutely great at what they do,
That's true, Jedd, but they OWNED the disco era.đ
@@HansMcGruber They certainly were master songwriters.
The Bee Gees are one of the all time best bands ever! Great songs, great vocals, no matter the decade, itâs music for the heart & soul.
This song in the context of the film, Saturday Night Live can be fully appreciated when you see it. Danny is in love with his dance partner and his feelings and perhaps hers, begin to blossom as they are in the studio practicing. The scene is beautiful as is the song.
Will ALWAYS make me think of Short Circuit
The death of disco will always baffle me. That shit was FIRE!!!
They couldn't dance yeah they
Oh, that smile!!!
What a blessing.
đđ»â€ïžâïž
@Lex. The '80s saw artists change from "Look at my art" to "Look at ME." That's what you're picking up on but not finding words for. It was a fundamental shift, and not just with music.
Life in the 70's was a great time to grow up never felt unsafe as a kid. miss those days
Bee Gees - love some body
Lex you are spot on about the 70s. What made it so great was people were kind to each other. No one tried to tell anyone how to feel or think. People respected each others boundaries. Gossip was a dirty word then, people minded their own business. These days, people thrive on it and get off on tearing someone else down. People helped each other and no one was considered a hero for it cos everyone did it. As an example, back then, when women gave birth, it was considered womens business and husbands were not allowed in the birthing rooms and only allowed to visit during visiting hours. They usually looked after the other kids whilst mom was out of action and the whole street would prepare meals for that family, taking it in turns till mom returned home. Then the neighbours would visit the mother and offer to help them with errands and anything else depending on how the birth went. I miss almost everything about the 70s and would go back in a heartbeat, given the chance. They can have their tech gadgets and modern inventions for all I care cos as far as I am concerned, our humanity has gone backwards.
In this episode of Brad & Lex, the ever so unreadable Brad gives a death stare that completely contradicts this 1977 groovy love letter. Brad will give a charity slice portion of energy to the Bee Gees by exhibiting a sedated "side to side sway" before explaining his lackluster movements to Lex who accepts this while she eases back into a peppy "roller bop" equipped with good vibes.
I don't even need to watch the reactions anymore, I just look for your summary. Then, based on that, maybe I'll watch it, maybe not.
@@emtallmoose9436 lmao, me too!
I was a teenager in the 70's and it had great music. Glad I got to experience that decade.
Lex is a confused genius. She knows what she feels, knows what it means, knows that itâs importantâŠ..In her excitement, she struggles to articulate those feelingsâŠ.Welcome to the âclubâ Lex!!! Youâre amongst family! Hell yeah, girl!
I think she ment to say this is a warm soothing romatic masterful phenomenon that creates joy in throughout her whole galaxy
Songs like this make me wish I had a women like yours. Dancing and looking into our eyes.
There's a very real reason the 70s sound comforting to you. Roll with that, baby!
My favorite Bee Gees song!!! #Timeless
It's squishy is a brilliant way to describe how this makes you feel
You talked about this is comforting music. I think part of the reason its comforting is because they write songs about love - a respectful love, true love.â€
Lex "it's so warm and squishy" LOL, I love you girl!
I had to laugh at Brad's, "these are the songs that get me in trouble...if I sing along, you get mad." There are a couple falsetto songs (like Bee Gees, or GnR) that I like to sing along and my wife says I sound terrible and need to stop. So I get it man, I get the same "hate" from my wife, LOL
She probably wants to hear their voices, not yours :)
I'd like to hear Today's artists writing Songs like this... Bring back Disco/Funk and Songs that make you feel Warm and Comforted.
I miss the 70's music and the simpler and more innocence of that time period! Love was in the air! đđ
The 70's were fantastic. I remember being happy and crime was non existent. I was 17 when this came out.
Bring back those days It was wonderful. Yes we respected everyone back then It was safe and fun the disco days I lived for Friday and Saturday nights , dancing all night ,worked all week
Lex is exactly right. There's no boundaries anymore. Nothing's sacred. That's a lack of respect. Very astute observation!
This was from one of the greatest movie soundtracks EVER....Saturday Night Fever. It's the 2nd highest selling soundtrack in history. You need to listen to that entire album. You won't be disappointed. The Bee Gees wrote/performed 6 of the hits (Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Jive Talkin', Night Fever, More Than a Woman, and You Should Be Dancin' (Travola's famous dance scene), plus wrote If I Can't Have You that was performed by Yvonne Elliman. They did recorded their version for the soundtrack but it wasn't used. They did however write three other songs for the movie that weren't used by were still hits. Can't go wrong with The Bee Gees. The album also features KC and the Sunshine Band's Boogie Shoes and Disco Inferno by The Trammps...great music!!
Donât forget Short Circuit as well, Johnny 5
The movie was great, too. Despite all the bad things that happen, some of it truly horrible, Danny or Vinny or whatever his name is comes out the other side whole, and with an honest friend. As a dancer myself, we could communities of dancers we find around us. There's genuine admiration and study of skill in dance, it's not just jump up and down in the club for all a lot of us.
The soundtrack is a great listen. Takes me back, for sure.
Tavares
Saturday night fever good movie.
The Bee Gees song Fanny Be Tender With My Love is another great song to react to.
bee gees paying the price of love
A perfect song from the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack. This one is placed during the dance contestâŠ..such a great scene.
Bee gees "jive Talkin" it might make you get up outta your seats ,it's so damn funky X đ
My mom liked them and disco groups. Popular in the '70s and early '80s. Disco is funk, string instruments like violins, guitars, bass guitar, electrical pianos, horns altoghter usually. Dance music and roller skating music jaja. Especially among Italians, latinos, African Americans and other Europeans. See other disco groups Donna Summer, Sister Sledge, ABBA, Boney M, Earth Wind and Fire (some of their stuff), Gloria Gaynor, Village People, KC and the Sunshine Band, and others. Lex you are right, people during the '70s got along. Happy and Civil Rights era from the '60s and '70s kind of helped with that.It helped during the '80s and '90s too.
It really is comforting. Nail on the head woman.
Dang, makes me want to run out to the dance floor and do The Hustle, haha!! The BeeGees never miss!
Lol.... I kinda thought the same thing. It's was definitely a good song for dancing to at a club. Not too fast or too slow.
damn... genius Bee Gees.... what a beautiful song... definite underrated... Massachusetts đI was born in 64 and the 70's was a awesome time... Soul, Funk, Disco ...sooo great...
Itâs about pure talent. Real musicians. Real singers. Real production and a sense of you have to be perfect because itâs on tape, not auto tune or some computer program that makes me sound like Steve Perry from Journey. The Bee Gees were the 70âs and this movie is so ridiculously good itâs hard to believe.
My parents loved country music but I can still remember as a pre teen retreating to my bedroom and dancing to the BeeGees đ€Ł sound of my childhood đ
Rip Andy, Maurice and Robin you left us way too soon thanks for all the great memories đ
Brad & Lex, they have great pre-disco songs such as "How Can You Mend A Broken Heart", "To Love Somebody" and "Lonely Days".
warm and squishy indeed lol. it's like wrapping up in a blanket on a cool night. this song just makes you feel good all over
Real disco stuff... like Earth, Wind and Fire, The Bangles. Romantic and enthusiastic.
The 70s were enjoying the freedom the 60s gave us. It was new and free and novel and we were trying everything on for size
As 55 year old NYC area kid who came of age during this period I love seeing your generation discovering and jamming to these classics. The interesting thing is The Bee Gees wrote these songs before âFeverâ was scripted and filmed and the director changed scenes to fit the music. For me itâs the greatest soundtrack everđŒ
It's very cool you guys get the feeling of freedom the music of the 70s gave us back then. You could tell your other half about your inner feelings back then while today people look for ways to be offended, it sucks and you and other reactions folks who are discovering this music from the 70s is so different than the sub par stuff peddled today and appreciate. The Bee Gees defined that era along with others who were able to connect with us with many different musical genres and gives a snapshot of the variety of music we who grew up in the 70s were fortunate enough to enjoy. I've personally been a Bee Gees fan for over 50 years. RIP Andy, MO and ROBIN.
Speaking as a kid of the 70s, Lexx nailed it.
If you squeezed the 70's, this would come dripping out.
Lex you hit it right on head, I was a kid in 70s and this is how it was, the music was every group expressing themselves and we loved it and no one tried to force thier views on others , we loved all the different sounds and lyrics and music, We just had fun , hung out and rode around, danced and skated and loved living, No one was pushing but expressing and everyone let them without getting thier panites in a bunch . We were just happy and free
There were no boundaries in the 70's lol
This is what love feels like â€
Yes, Lex is right, the 70âs weâre awesome!!! đđ»đđ»đđ»đđ»đđ
people seemed more natural expressing their love and romantic side back then for sure
Lex is right. 70's music is very comforting to listen to. But that's probably because I grew up listening to it as a kid. But yeah, it has a magical feel to it.
Bee Gee's.. Enough said they never made a bad song and it's now cool to say you like them :) i have loved the Bee Gee's for over 40 years...still cant help myself to start moving when i hear them.
You may not realize that the Bee Gees had a massive career in the sixties and early seventies prior to their dance music period. Their harmonies were/are legendary. Have a listen to Run to Me, Lonely Days, First of May, How Can You Mend a Broken Heart.
Lex, you are adorable! I'm fixing to be 62 in 2 days. I lived thru the best of every kind of music. I have loved music since I can remember. And all kinds. You are right, the 70's were so much fun. Being a teenager in the 70's was the best. Sort of carefree, but like you said, boundaries. Everyone got along. It wasn't perfect, but when has it ever been? Not that my advice amounts to anything. I'm just an old lady, but my heart and mind are young. I think music did that. If I could give young people any advice, it's just be yourself. Live life to the fullest. What you and Brad are doing is great! You're giving all types of music a chance. It's so much fun watching the two of you. I had 3 kids and they all went thru their different phases of music. They introduced me to all kinds, and they grew up with my music. I used to pay them if they could name the song and the band, but had to quit because they got so good at it! My oldest son, who was murdered at the age of 21 in 2007, loved rap music. The Game was his favorite. But one of my fondest memories is when we were by ourselves, he would ask me to play some Southern Rock. He didn't want his friends to know he was a "secret" Southern Rock lover. One of his favorites was a song by Lynyrd Skynyrd called "Red, White and Blue." My boy will be gone 15 years on March 8th. But I have those precious memories of listening to music with him. Keep doing what you're doing. You may not realize it, but it may just touch someone like it did me. God Bless.
Earth Wind & FIRE "Thats the way of the world"
One of the meanest thing to do in a couple : hush someone who want to sing ! Please consider this, you donât have to be a singer or be in a band or even to sing right, to sing sing from the heart. When you hush someone who sing, you hush his heart. ;)
Bee Gees were đŻ roller skating rink songs! đ€Ł
My favourite band. The song i love the most is Fanny be tender from 1975. The BeeGees have sold over 200million records And have had 9 American number one's.
Lex is more than a woman so happy that Brad realized that. Props to you both for becoming a couple.
Amigo que belleza de mujer tu compañera afroamericana!!â€
Buena reacciĂłn a los hermanos Bee Gees.đ
Love the song no boundaries to there talent.
Break out the roller skates I'm having a major flashback
You are dead on about the 70s. It's my favorite decade for music. It's honest because it was hard to fix in the studio. What played on the radio was what the artist recorded. That's why you feel such a safe connection to it! Love you guys!
This song is so wholesome.
Love The Bee Gees
This is so good. Friday night after work, eat something, take a shower, take a nap, head for the club about 10:00.
Brad, you are more than a woman - you are a man... -Lex, can I have this dance with yöu?
I'm a punk rocker from Helsinki Finland but when I hear these Saturday Night Fever tracks they always make me smile. This is called the DISCO MAGIC !
Lex you said it perfectly. We didn't smoke in front of friends parents or extended family or ever pull in their driveway with music loud. We really didn't even make calls after 9 at night unless absolutely necessary at the same time we absolutely had a blast. I would love to live those decades again.
i will be listening to this song when i am dead!!! you can not take it from me!!!
The 70's we made music. It wasn't about hate an hoes. It was about the good things. Good music comes from heaven. It lifts you up. Evil music puts an pulls you down. It started in the 80s with alternative music about death an misery. Now its more about the words. The music is the good part the words should just make it better. Good music will always be good. For ever.âđ€đž

So true Lex. Our motto was "you do you and I'll do me".
Lex your reactions are so cute. And check out the fact that back in the day music used to be played at 432 Hz now they play it at 440 Hz which causes it to bother our nervous system. It's FREQUENCY. LEX GETS IT. AND IT SHOWS HOW SHE BOPS AROUND LIKE AN INNOCENT CHILD. SO ADORABLE.
Many people remember this from the movie SHORT CIRCUIT where the robot (#5) realizes he's alive and sings this while dancing with a woman.
You two should watch the film Saturday night fever (if you haven't already) Bee Gees wrote the soundtrack, and songs throughout the film, lot of great 70s records played in it aswell by other artists. But also it's a great 70s film/got a gritty drama aspect to it.

Lex, you're right, people didn't put each other into boxes or speak on behalf of other people. Everything was so new and changing so quickly that that would have been hard to do anyway. Everyone was on a journey and it was very much about live and let live. I think not having social media really helped as there wasn't that sense of everyone trying to show how great their lives were or trying to destroy each other for the smallest mistake. I honestly think people were more tolerant and even kinder back then.
You guys should check out one their most complicated pre disco songsâŠ.Fanny ( be tender) multiple vocal harmonies like 3 parts by the 3 of them , it was so complicated they couldn t perform it fully live. Ps its my favourite.
yes loved the Bee Gees. and love this song. love your reaction Lex.
I love the Bee Gees. My dad was a disco instructor back in the 70s, and disco was a staple in our house. The funny thing is... I've played drums in a punk and metal band for nearly 40 years. Music is amazing, and all music is worthy.
The smiles on your faces; I love it! đ
A year later I have found this channel, love love love.
80's kid here, reminiscing of the skating rink
Wish so badly I could go back in time when this song came out. I was a ten year old boy living in London. Great memories of a wonderful era.
