Lex you are so right. People have always tried to put us in a box and missing the mark. We did respect boundaries. We respected others boundaries. But at the same time continued to break our parents boundaries. It's been said in the 70s everything goes and it did. It was like you do your thing and I'll do mine and we will all have a good time.

As an old man - I was 17 when this came out - this music makes me so melancholy - that it's almost debilitating. The paper trail of my life leaves me wanting - and as I look back it hurts the soul to think of things that were possible - yet never contemplated or attempted. More than a woman is like a knife to my heart - what happened to that young man holding the hand of Susanne as they left the movie that Friday night after seeing Saturday Night Fever.

Living through the 70's I just remember the amazing variety of music being produced each week.Soul, pop, disco, rock. My music tastes included Led Zep, The Carpenters, Stevie Wonder, The Sweet and many many others and of course the Bee Gees. The soundtrack to Saturday Night Fever was huge and everyone would be having house parties with the guys trying to put on the Travolta style.

@ Matlock Lane certain radio stations have been airing old episodes of Casey Kasems countdown shows from the 70s and 80s. I heard one from 1970, and it was bizarre. They had Engelbert Humperdinck and then Led Zeppelin. Another one had Perry Como then Black Sabbath. It was so odd, I thought it was a joke. I was expecting Ashton Kutcher to come on and say we've been punkd. Who even knew Perry Como still had hits in 70? I was born in 69, so I never heard top 40 back then. My first music memories were the 76 disco era. So yeah, the variety was scary good

Even if you don't fully connect with this the production sounds so good you can still appreciate it. That goes for pop, country, soft rock, etc, etc, etc,. Not that todays producers aren't talented but the pre-computer production has such a deeper richer feel to it. 70s and 80s studio production was so good.

The 80's was the same way for me. Post 2000's people with these crazy ideas have RUINED how we all interact with one another. Excellent reaction to a beautiful song.

Lex is right, the 70's music had an amazing and distinct something to it. I was a young kid in the 70s, but during my teen years in the 80s, no one I knew listened to 70's music (except people's parents, and me). I remembered it and listened to more of it than 'current' 80's music at the time. 70's music had a great vibe to most any of it and an abundant variety that has not been present for the most part, since then.

Lex you are spot on about the 70s. What made it so great was people were kind to each other. No one tried to tell anyone how to feel or think. People respected each others boundaries. Gossip was a dirty word then, people minded their own business. These days, people thrive on it and get off on tearing someone else down. People helped each other and no one was considered a hero for it cos everyone did it. As an example, back then, when women gave birth, it was considered womens business and husbands were not allowed in the birthing rooms and only allowed to visit during visiting hours. They usually looked after the other kids whilst mom was out of action and the whole street would prepare meals for that family, taking it in turns till mom returned home. Then the neighbours would visit the mother and offer to help them with errands and anything else depending on how the birth went. I miss almost everything about the 70s and would go back in a heartbeat, given the chance. They can have their tech gadgets and modern inventions for all I care cos as far as I am concerned, our humanity has gone backwards.

Brad will give a charity slice portion of energy to the Bee Gees by exhibiting a sedated "side to side sway" before explaining his lackluster movements to Lex who accepts this while she eases back into a peppy "roller bop" equipped with good vibes.

This was from one of the greatest movie soundtracks EVER....Saturday Night Fever. It's the 2nd highest selling soundtrack in history. You need to listen to that entire album. You won't be disappointed. The Bee Gees wrote/performed 6 of the hits (Stayin' Alive, How Deep is Your Love, Jive Talkin', Night Fever, More Than a Woman, and You Should Be Dancin' (Travola's famous dance scene), plus wrote If I Can't Have You that was performed by Yvonne Elliman. They did recorded their version for the soundtrack but it wasn't used. They did however write three other songs for the movie that weren't used by were still hits. Can't go wrong with The Bee Gees. The album also features KC and the Sunshine Band's Boogie Shoes and Disco Inferno by The Trammps...great music!!

Dance music and roller skating music jaja. Especially among Italians, latinos, African Americans and other Europeans. See other disco groups Donna Summer, Sister Sledge, ABBA, Boney M, Earth Wind and Fire (some of their stuff), Gloria Gaynor, Village People, KC and the Sunshine Band, and others. It's very cool you guys get the feeling of freedom the music of the 70s gave us back then. You could tell your other half about your inner feelings back then while today people look for ways to be offended, it sucks and you and other reactions folks who are discovering this music from the 70s is so different than the sub par stuff peddled today and appreciate. The Bee Gees defined that era along with others who were able to connect with us with many different musical genres and gives a snapshot of the variety of music we who grew up in the 70s were fortunate enough to enjoy. I've personally been a Bee Gees fan for over 50 years. RIP Andy, MO and ROBIN.

Lex you hit it right on head, I was a kid in 70s and this is how it was, the music was every group expressing themselves and we loved it and no one tried to force thier views on others , we loved all the different sounds and lyrics and music, We just had fun , hung out and rode around, danced and skated and loved living, No one was pushing but expressing and everyone let them without getting thier panites in a bunch . We were just happy and free

You may not realize that the Bee Gees had a massive career in the sixties and early seventies prior to their dance music period. Their harmonies were/are legendary. Have a listen to Run to Me, Lonely Days, First of May, How Can You Mend a Broken Heart.

Lex, you are adorable! I'm fixing to be 62 in 2 days. I lived thru the best of every kind of music. I have loved music since I can remember. And all kinds. You are right, the 70's were so much fun. Being a teenager in the 70's was the best. Sort of carefree, but like you said, boundaries. Everyone got along. It wasn't perfect, but when has it ever been? Not that my advice amounts to anything. I'm just an old lady, but my heart and mind are young. I think music did that. If I could give young people any advice, it's just be yourself. Live life to the fullest. What you and Brad are doing is great! You're giving all types of music a chance. It's so much fun watching the two of you. I had 3 kids and they all went thru their different phases of music. They introduced me to all kinds, and they grew up with my music. I used to pay them if they could name the song and the band, but had to quit because they got so good at it! My oldest son, who was murdered at the age of 21 in 2007, loved rap music. The Game was his favorite. But one of my fondest memories is when we were by ourselves, he would ask me to play some Southern Rock. He didn't want his friends to know he was a "secret" Southern Rock lover. One of his favorites was a song by Lynyrd Skynyrd called "Red, White and Blue." My boy will be gone 15 years on March 8th. But I have those precious memories of listening to music with him. Keep doing what you're doing. You may not realize it, but it may just touch someone like it did me. God Bless.

One of the meanest thing to do in a couple : hush someone who want to sing ! Please consider this, you don’t have to be a singer or be in a band or even to sing right, to sing sing from the heart. When you hush someone who sing, you hush his heart. ;)

The 70's we made music. It wasn't about hate an hoes. It was about the good things. Good music comes from heaven. It lifts you up. Evil music puts an pulls you down. It started in the 80s with alternative music about death an misery. Now its more about the words. The music is the good part the words should just make it better. Good music will always be good. For ever.âœŒđŸ€˜đŸŽž

Lex, you're right, people didn't put each other into boxes or speak on behalf of other people. Everything was so new and changing so quickly that that would have been hard to do anyway. Everyone was on a journey and it was very much about live and let live. I think not having social media really helped as there wasn't that sense of everyone trying to show how great their lives were or trying to destroy each other for the smallest mistake. I honestly think people were more tolerant and even kinder back then.
