- Using the rental Caterpillar 349F to pull some large stumps on the big clearing project. The machine has a 61in bucket for reference on the size of some of the stumps!

The thing pulls em like it’s nothing!! But it needs a thumb on it. Great video keep em up!!
I used to own a 345D which was a beast and I loved it. Giant power and very smooth. However living on a plantation in Louisiana near the Mississippi river in Louisiana meant the machine was too heavy to roll out from the shed for about half the year without tearing up the ground wherever it was tracked. So a couple years ago I went from that 45 ton machine to both a 30 ton machine and a 305.5. Both have thumbs and hydraulic bucket changers and three different buckets. Quite disappointed that Cat doesn't offer progressive link thumbs on the small machines. With the 30 ton machine I can pick up a culvert from any distance.
Finally we get to see you operate something bigger than the Dear.
I own a mini-X and it's amazing to watch what the big kids can do!!!!
Making quick work of those huge stumps! Nice job!
Sure did!
Needs a thumb!!!! Great video
Awesome power with that machine pulling those stumps like twigs those are fun to operate comfy to
Yup I dont ever want to pull stumps again with out it! haha
Quarter million dollar machine and no thumb to pull stumps. It's a good thing fuel is cheap.
Definitely will make the job a lot easier 😮
I need one. 117,500 lbs! I had 15 acres of mature pines logged. Rented a deere 210g - 55,000 lbs - for a week (40 hours) maybe got 4 acres stumped? Most stumps were more than 6ft tap root to cut from feller buncher, 3ft plus diameter trunks, and showed no mercy for the machine.
Operating Weight 107145 lb according to their website. www.cat.com/en_US/products/new/equipment/excavators/large-excavators/1000026557.html
Incredible power.
A lot of power in that machine
Not gonna front. This is arousing. Mooor pawahhhh!
This is so overkill 😂😂
Good job
That was some lowland there, you can tell by the root ball
Man that thing has some power
Sure does!
That 349 is a BEAST. What is the land being cleared for? Keep up the good videos.
Thats for sure! We cleared it for a horse pasture
Great video! Don’t know why but I could watch big excavators pulling stumps all day long. It’s like scratching an itch to see stump come out roots and all.
If it took me more than 3 seconds to pull a stump... it was a massive stump!
A couple people think he needs a thumb. But the truth is on a machine that big it just gets in the way to pick up large rocks and stumps.
Like the video man .
That thing pulls like a dentist
Could have use this to dig a stump out recently... nice.
A BREEZE !!
badass !!! what does it cost to rent a machine like that?
I would like a smaller version of that for about an hour!
Those are just pine tree stumps get into the big oak trees they'll still get them out but not nearly as easy
We have CAT 336 E excavator . . it's so big xD
What going in this area? I wish I had a job like this!!!
We cleared it for a horse pasture
What’s the best way to get into excavation
from the ground up would be my guess
Who ones that 349
What's that cost to rent?
15k a month
👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍
Where i come from we take the top soil off of the stump. You must be new
This was actually the first time I ever ran a machine. How did I do?
Not bad man, just take the soil off it burns better
@@DirtNinja yah right i know better than that lol.
@@DirtNinja ... great job for this being your first time. Sooo, did the boss let you back on the excavator after this, or are you back on street sweeping duty with the push broom?
Has it meet a sump it can't handle?
haha no. Thats a 61in bucket so some of those stumps were huge
mate grease the machine !!!!!
This is a old video?
From this summer
Will you send me one of those stumps please (you'll have to pay for shipping and any other costs)
Thanks in advance. ;)
Canby Norman I don’t think they’d send you a stump for free nice try tho
