Thank you for posting this. My wife and I visited the WTC 7 months later in October on a very similar sunny and clear day. Your video captured perfectly our memory of that beautiful day back in 2000. We were celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary and felt in awe standing on top of that massive tower over looking New York. I'm glad you captured the helicopter flying below because it struck me then how high we were to be above aircraft flying below. 9/11 happened less than a year later and it really hit us hard since we had so recently stood atop that enormous structure. Even today, it almost seems unfathomable that they could be brought down. Thank you for the beautiful and heartfelt memory. Though just 20 years ago, 2000 seemed to be a simpler more optimistic time.
Yeah I couldn’t imagine it, I don’t think I would even be able to do something like that faced with certain death. I would still try to fight my way down or I would hope and pray somebody can rescue me
They had to choose between dying by burning to death or dying by hitting the ground in a quick painful moment, honestly it’s a decision no one should ever have to make.
As a kid in the 90s, I always believed the Empire State Building was the tallest in NYC. When I flew to Florida from Oregon with my parents, we had a changeover in Newark NJ in July 1998, and I had a good view of the whole skyline of NYC. That’s when I realized I was wrong and saw the Twin Towers was by far the tallest towers in NYC. Because of 9/11, (just starting my HS freshman year) I’ll never forget being surprised to find out the twin towers were the tallest in NYC at the time.
When I saw it I checked my TA-50 packed my other seabag and packed my uniforms. Went work and told the boss I will probably be gone soon. I also said it will be for a lot more than two weeks. Almost got sent to Asskrackinstan. Some of those active duty F'D up and I got their assignment and they got mine. But Iraq and Afghanistan did claim a few of us eventually. I still remember their faces when I handed them their orders. It is tough being the "Old Guy".
I visited the towers in November 1982 when I was in high school. I still have a visitor's brochure. I remember the elevators being huge. What a morning that was when they went down. Still breaks the heart. Never thought about how many hearts broke year after year since Pearl Harbor. One day down the road, our hearts, or maybe our kids' hearts will break again.
Gokuthebest_01 bruh it fell cause the fires burnt the metal that was holding the rest of the tower up and then the tower fell on top of itself and collapsed
My cousin Was near the towers, she was there when the towers collapsed. My mom told me that when she came home she was Barefoot and covered in smoke. She walked from New York City too Bayonne, New Jersey. May the People who died on 9/11 Rest In Peace.
Wow. Most people don't understand how far that is. It's 10 miles assuming the normal route through tunnels and bridges which I know were shut down that day.
my cousin didn't make it out. During the time this video was taken, i was still working in the mall in tower one. I got a job at tekserve on 23rd and 6th ave and it probably saved my life.
I've stood up here at age 8. It was my first and last time. Too young to really remember what the view looked and felt like. Wish I could do it again today at 32.
Imagine how different life would be if 9/11 had never happened. It’s just so sad how many lives were cut short by such a horrible act of terrorism. How many dads or moms never got to see their family again. How many firefighters selflessly gave their lives attempting to rescue trapped people. It must have been terrifying to witness the towers collapsing. Not to mention the massive dust cloud from the debris. Imagine the final thoughts of those trapped in the towers when they finally gave way. The terror must have been immense. The sense of knowing that your life was ending and their was nothing you could do to stop it. Just so sad. Rest In Peace all who lost their lives that day.
but what if our country needed that to stay together and learn that we are all one what if without this we would've went into something that collapsed our country maybe it helped in a way... rest in peace for those who were lost...
How different would our lives be today if JFK had not been assassinated? He would not have led us into Vietnam where many more were killed like LBJ did.

My mom, brother and I went March 2002 to Ground Zero. While waiting on the ramp to go up I looked over to the subway entrance and someone had placed a corner doll next to the subway entrance and the railing of the Church where the headstones and grounds of that Church were still covered with dust. Heartbreaking and humbling.
First time I was in NYC was sep 2000. I sat at the fountain at the start of the video and had coffee and a dounut with my girlfriend( Now wife). Looking up at all the tall buildings and people rushing to work. When I see films and videos I often think of those people and were they there a year later and did they make it out. Innocent all of them that didn't make it out !!!!! I was back 7 yrs later when it was a building site and still cannot believe that it was all gone. I hopefully will get back some day and bring my family after all this virus madness is over. Without doubt the best city I have ever been to in the world. Love from Ireland 🇮🇪❤

Some of the people who died in the 9/11 attacks definitely had views like these when the plane was flying towards them.. I can't even begin to imagine the feeling of hopelessness they must've felt.
Corrupt - Wrong. The attack was in the morning, so no tourists were on top of the tower (unless they opened early that day for some reason), but for the people working, it must have been horrific
Sure you can imagine it. Just watch FOX News on any given day and watch Donald Trump’s virus approaching your town. You’ll know exactly what those poor souls were feeling...because the same fate is coming for your because of Donald Trump’s criminally wilfull neglect.
I wasnt alive during 9/11 but with each story i feel as though I have missed the towers just as long as my elders. It is important to remember what we lost on that day but it is just as important to remember what we have going for us now. Respect to all who lost their lives during September 11, 2001.
Watching this without the music would have me choked up enough but man this music literally made me cry hysterically. I had an aunt who worked in that building who was there during the bombing in 1993 and thankfully survived. She moved across the river to Jersey City right before that fateful warm, cloudless September day. I wish I could have lived to experience these treasures.

I still say that they should have re-built the Twin Towers back EXACTLY how they looked here. Would have sent a real message of defiance, and restored the famous New York skyline.
Does anyone remember the day it was all over the news? I remember it like it was yesterday. Rest In Piece, anyone who died trying to get out or save lives. You're missed tragically. You'll forever be in our hearts.
This video was uploaded 19 years ago or so it says. And every year it ends in my recommended exactly on 9/11 and then again a few days after like now which is when I click on it. This is strange but wow it feels powerful
I know that Freedom Tower is built adjacent to the site of the former twin towers but it’s still so mind blowing to me that when I visited the top observatory of Freedom Tower in December 2019 that I saw the exact same view that thousands of people saw before they died on 9/11. It’s so heartbreaking, amazing, and absolutely sobering all at once.
So hard to accept these engineering masterpieces are gone, and even harder to believe that nice souls are not to seen again so heartbreaking, may they be held in the arms of the lord.
It feels so hard to say this but it wasnt an engineering masterpiece (Its structure was made accidentally easy to fall in on itself), but i agree R.I.P to those who have ever died and forgive those who were evil.
@@niggaify145 Nou, it was an entire government job, the army, navy, FBI, CIA, politicians... except for the cops and firemen, a so big terrosist attack needs the agreement between many sick psychos.

One of the antenna technicians had gotten out to get lunch, and when he called his mate to tell him to get out because there were flames and fire, the other guy responded with "Does this mean I don't get my eggroll?" (You may think I'm joking, but I now have everyone's attention, and it's a true story.)
This video shows a World that many of us miss, and long for. Things really did change a lot after the events, and not all for the better in my opinion. A shocking, awful day happened, which took many innocent people. And it was used to its full extent by the governments to drastically change our World. That's when all the mass surveillence was pushed through, citizens now had a Big Brother for real. Then 2 decades of horrific wars which in the end didn't do much good if we are honest. Many, many people from lots of countries died due to this. It was all done for "our freedom and safety". Do we have the same freedom these days? Are we really any safer? Who actually benefits from collecting every piece of data? Who benefited from the wars? Makes you think.
It’s just sad the problem of the pentagon secretary announcing that the government is missing 2.3trillion dollars on September 10th, 2001, completely overshadowed by the tragedy the next day
Or in the case of COVID 45, the Trump virus, how even the EXPECTED can be deadly if there is no one in charge to save us. Vote Biden in November. Your life may depend upon it.

We later made our way to Jamaica and Tahiti before we took over the ship and went to Pitcarns Island.. My descendents are living on there to this day but don't tell them you have seen me on You tube.. 🙌🙌🙌💀💀👽
POV: Your a wealthy human who has a job on the 102nd floor in the world trade center. The terrorist attacks happen. Your only two choices you have are: Stay inside and see what happens or: Jump from that view. Think about that. Pure torture..
I always remember watching people jump to their deaths that day on live news. I couldn't believe what I was seeing at first. I thought things were being thrown out the windows until I realized it was people jumping. The realization of why still gives me chills to this day.
I remember this view. I was there on top of the WTC, and vividly recall looking DOWN on a flying helicopter and the statue of liberty. I remember looking through those binoculars into Pennsylvania, and looking DOWN at GW bridge. Never imagined never being able to see that view from there again. The horror of being trapped up there, however, is unimaginable even more.
@Ken Ken There is also some balloons.. The alien and the pumpkin represent human fears of the unknown and the balloons are metaphors of a repressed society ready ready to explode or perhaps implode.. Also, you will notice four trains which represent the need for escapism.. If you can understand the meaning of these things, you will have a great life.. I wish you the very best!
I was not directly impacted by this with my family, and I was only 7 when it happened. But I still remember where I was when it happened. This brought tears to my eyes. Life is such a precious gift we all have. Cherish every moment, and live like it could be your last, because it could be.
I was indirectly affected. My mother was an airport manager. She ended up being among the first hundred or so trained to react to terrorism. Also my very lifestyle changed. I wasn't able to fly as often nor was I able to hang out in the manager's office or the landing strip. I no longer was able to pick up the signal sticks they used and direct aircraft. I was in middle school at the time and was about to start ground school. I never ended up doing that.
I was 15 at the time. I was at school in science class. I remember it was on the announcements. My teacher broke down crying. Everything kind of went into a stand still. The class, as well as myself were in shock and it was scary because we didnt know what would be next. We were sent home during afternoon lunch. The reality of what happened started to really set in, and it was honestly extremely sad and horrible. I remember once I was home, I told my mom what had happened, and she had no idea. It was all over the t.v. and news, the smoking towers. When we found out people were jumping and then the towers eventually fell, it made it even worse :( Things werent the same after that day.
The Shitstorm Starter exactly... so there’s a chance you would pass out before you hit the ground... either way death is instant you wouldn’t feel a thing Why the fuck would you wanna endure the 5 mins of torture your body will endure whilst burning, instead of taking 10 secs to then make it end instantly
in 1999, my dad went to america, he flew all the way there to admire this country because he never had been there before, he went to see a lot of things, which also were the twin towers, he was thinking: “should i go on there or not? This is maybe the last time i’m here.” So went to see the twin towers. He was right, that was the first and last time to be on there. I’m really glad that he chose to visit them because if he didn’t do it, he would never be there ever again. Edit: you guys are so mean omg. I’m just a 14 year old girl tryna tell a story and people really tryna bring a 14 year old down? Damn... Please be nice, i have feelings too
H H he wasn’t at the bombing. He was there a few years before thinking if he would go on there, he wasn’t really sure if he wanted to go, but he was thinking about the fact that that maybe was his last chance there, and a few years later it got bombed.
How lucky is your dad compared to the rest of us, how lucky he got to see in person that very important thing everyone must see before they die. How can you live and die without having seen the two piles of concrete standing together. What are we to do now that they are not there? OMG I didn't get to see them OMG what am I to do now? (Your post doesn't make any sense dude)
My family is not American, but when we saw what happened we were like: “how many have died? How many lost their lives? How many children lost their father or mother? How many parents lost their children” I honestly have no words to say, I just feel horribly sorry for the ones involved.
Finkle The Massive Dinkle yes it’s sad I saw a vid where they where saying there last words and saying I love you to their family that’s sad besides if the mean people who caused it know they where going to die then what’s the point
I was at the WTC around 1991 or so. I forget which Bldg and floor, But I was on the upper floors. I was a Stratus Mainframe Computer Operator and assisting with installing and upgrades. First impressions? The offices were kind of cramped. Low ceilings. But, offices with synthetic carpeting, metal desks. Paper from printers. Gypsum Wall board. Cheap stuff that was either highly combustible and burned away quickly or highly fire resistant. Nothing was in those buildings to melt steel and weaken them - even if the steel was "naked" without any fireproofing. I can recall the perceptible sway of the WTC building - by design. WTC flexed under high winds. WTC were strong structures and should of shredded those planes on impact - Steel ("rebar") reinforced concrete floors - Slabs. With plane debris falling to the streets below. My conclusion? Those buildings should have never fallen. Something else brought them down.. The WTC should of been rebuilt as a symbol of defiance. I dont like the replacement.. And NO Middle East military ventures..and no "Patriot Acts"..
Let’s not forget the fact that America started 4 wars and bombed an entire region to the ground because of it. Those 2.5 million innocent lives won’t go in vain, America will have their karma which is already happening considering how the president has ran it into the ground the past 4 years
@@fernandoguerrero5244 Karma ? you absolute fucking bastard, how dare you say these things on the anniversary of this event ? You miserable waste of skin.
Joseph King so were 99% of the bombings in the Middle East... no target, no cause, just senseless murders. I didn’t say any life was more important than the other... the US seems to think those 3k lives were worth 2.5 million other lives though. Can’t believe people still support one of the worst days in human history.
My God I can imagine how innocent people were walking into the wtc taking the elevator, talking with friends, saying hi the secretary as they walked by, the cool September breeze blowing through the entrance. I feel liked I used to work there. I've actually met a survivor who was working on the 2nd floor. She described it as before the 11th it was like a happy carefree world. Then after it was like everyone was depressed. Sometimes people miss the days they never actually experienced
I watched the movie with Joseph Gordon Levitt, I believe his name was and I saw the true story about the man who did the walk and both were outstanding & entertaining & thank you for switching to a lighter story because these towers had a lot of beautiful stories behind them & not just the terrible ones and we need to always remember those stories also ! 🇺🇸
He's an artist and don't have a fear of heights, or else he would have fallen down. It must have been an incredible feeling of ecstacy, just like when he walked across the towers of Notre Dame.
Thanks for the video! I have a photo of me next to the Twin Towers taken in late August 2001. I remember I was contemplating whether I should go up to the observation deck that day, but said to myself that there is always another time...
Can't help when watching this having flashes from that fateful day. I imagine it's the same for anyone who saw it in real time.. the smoke billowing from those silver glimmering walls, the sight of that mast darting towards the ground following the crumbling tower. But it looks so grand here.
IlIlIlIlIlIlIl IlIlIlIlIlIlIl there brave because when you think about the people on the plane who crashed in shanksville they stoped that plane from going to god knows were and at the wtc office workers and first responders helped coworkers and complete strangers

The thousands of women, men, and children that have been groped by the TSA would’ve gone about their days peacefully. xD

Some of the people who died in the 9/11 attacks definitely had views like these when the plane was flying towards them.. I can't even begin to imagine the feeling of hopelessness they must've felt.
Your right they must have felt amazing such a great view
Corrupt - Wrong. The attack was in the morning, so no tourists were on top of the tower (unless they opened early that day for some reason), but for the people working, it must have been horrific

Can't help when watching this having flashes from that fateful day. I imagine it's the same for anyone who saw it in real time.. the smoke billowing from those silver glimmering walls, the sight of that mast darting towards the ground following the crumbling tower. But it looks so grand here.
Who else is here to think about the people who lost there life on 9/11
how are they brave they didnt expect the planes to hit those poor souls
IlIlIlIlIlIlIl IlIlIlIlIlIlIl there brave because when you think about the people on the plane who crashed in shanksville they stoped that plane from going to god knows were and at the wtc office workers and first responders helped coworkers and complete strangers
Does anyone know how many thousand of innocent civilians died and were tortured in the USAs war on terror? To accomplish what? Begging the Taliban for a peace treaty because the ongoing failed war efforts are getting too expensive...
@Jay Man post this more, as a proper comment too, not only as a reply.
@Jay Man of couse you had to make mourning political.
It’s so surreal man ... imagine this was right before it happened and that happened to you ... it’s crazy to think this evil really exists even though we act like it doesn’t or can’t do anything about that it does .. anyways much love to anybody who reads this , stay up ;)
n1KE yeah
@Playford Seven i dont think that has anything to do with islam, because these terror organisations also bomb mosques and other religious places
Definitely kat Islam, bombing Islam
It’s crazy that someone so evil would want to take the lives of countless innocent lives.People that have wife’s husband kids that are counting on them to make it home every night.God bless the souls that sadly perished on the day we will never forget.
@Playford Seven This definitely wasn't muslims lol. If you still believe that you're a real "good" american.
I’m shocked on how much phones could zoom in back then
Probably filmed with some sort of camcorder.
TheGnrlee maybr
Did they have camera phones yet in the year 2000?
@@Div4Dante yes cells phones, but they didn't have cameras on em yet, so they used camcorders
CZcams: Yea he'll watch whatever I show him.
