I love that scene at the monastery... there were those windchimes which drove Conan to the brink of utter madness - and Steven explained to the monk in Korean - quite dryly - that Conan has "a lot of issues"😂😂😂

This is so cool to hear as a Korean American. Over the past few years, I saw the popularity of Korean stuff growing, in dramas in the states and now everywhere with music, and of course food. I always wonder what someone with no Korean background sees in Koreans and this was so cool to hear Conan's perspective.
I rewatch those Conan in korea videos and laugh like it was my first time watching it. Please go again! 😂

"Burning", "Minari", and "Nope" in the last 4 years is a great run, definitely one of my favorite actors right now.
Also "Sorry to Bother You" & "The Humans" which were fantastic.
Steven came a long way. When he first starred in Lost, his Korean was so bad that it became a meme on Korean side of the internet. Now, compared to those days, he speaks flawlessly in Minari. It’s not easy to master a language in adulthood, but he did it.

Almost all the young monks he lived and trained with all had phones, watched streamers, played videogames, etc.
Conan once again proves he’s a genuine genius at spotting talent and befriending them before they become huge stars.
Love them both! Conan is one of the few that can properly mix funny and respectful. He’s hilarious and also so genuine. ❤

Conan’s assessment on South Korea’s social media being hyper sensitive is so very true. Not only on social media, but life and society in general. Very extreme.
Bc they highly value very superficial qualities that in their eyes are incredibly important to move up the ladder in Korea
It's toxic. Koreans also have the lowest digital literacy rate in the world meaning they can't tell apart whether something said on the internet is fake or not. They just believe any accusation thrown to them and eat it up like a braindead zombie mob, which is why hate spreads so quickly. I'm Korean myself and it's really disgusting to see this happen all the time to anyone.
The monastery trip was really fun. Especially the iPhone and the android bit and the last part when they were playing around the snow.
We all would love to see more complete versions of the international episodes! There has to be more footage!

One part of that trip that was a bit scary was when they went to the DMZ. They actually got to go inside one of the conference room buildings that divide North and South Korea. It did look a little tense for a bit, but it's still worth a look.
The weather segment was worth its weight in pairs of aviator sunglasses.
To be fair, it's actually a tourist destination so a ton of tourists visit there all the time

What Steven talks about, any Asian American/westerner has had that same realization lol.
I'm a backpacker, started backpacking when I was in college.
First trip I did was with some friends to Thailand. They were all blonde white kids and I'm Asian.
It was very very noticeable how they get HOUNDED by merchants while I was mostly ignored because they just assumed I was a tour guide.
We also had very different experiences in Europe. I would get targeted by pickpockets and robbery (I got into so many physical fights) by gypsies and African migrants, while my white friends were largely left alone. When I went to report this stuff to the police, they would tell me how Asian tourists ARE in fact targeted at least 10x more and that I should be careful.
It was very interesting to see how the rest of the world sees race.
