The huge impact Andy Kim's campaign has _already_ had they didn't mention here is that he single-handedly brought down New Jersey's bizarre, arcane party machine system of picking nominees, in which preferential spots on the primary ballot (e.g. being listed on the same party-endorsed "ticket" as Biden) were decided at conventions dominated by obscure party bosses. He was running against the literal first lady of the state with all the political connections she has to these party officials, and through mobilizing enough people who were sick of this convoluted process (which of course is conducive to all kinds of corruption), he was actually able to pull off a few surprise wins at these conventions, so much so that first lady Tammy Murphy has withdrawn from the race. Can't wait to see what he does as senator!

But how are voters going to respond to Kim being the least New Jersey candidate in the state's history?
Who cares if he's the least NJ candidate? NJ still needs to change the whole system that enable corruption there from the mob days. The state has way too little economy for being a peninsula and bordering Philly and NYC.
We saw that our taxes were going to Chris Christie's stomach when he closed down a public beach for him and his family after he lost reelection. I don't think voters still want "New Jersey."

Andy Kim is the man that brought down the New Jersey machine
I never felt beholden to the 2-party system, but Andy Kim always struck me as genuine... and I'm not too proud of NJ politicians, but seeing him cleaning up after January 6th to honor our country, he's got a soft spot in my heart from now on.
That was such a quiet and amazing moment. Just “taking care of things”.

I was very moved to see Andy Kim on 1/7/21 in the rotunda of the Capitol, cleaning up the mess left by the insurrectionists the day before.
We just LOVE Andy, there is so much to this man and his full throated love for his country and what can be done to aid his fellow man. We wish there were more men like him. We love you Rep. Andy Kim.

only way to fix,, Elections should be funded solely by the Fed or the state, with a fixed amount available to all qualified candidates rather than relying on private donations. This could help ensure fairness and reduce the influence of money in politics.

Nice to see a well spoken politician who also isn’t jawing just for column inches, air time or likes.
Why in heavens name can't we have more individuals similar to this running for office. And for president. So tired of the overflow of narcissism and unnecessary chaos in our political system. Literally nothing of substance is achieved, mainly because they repeatedly default on progressive workable solutions. Solutions that do not fit their personal agendas! So America continues to rot. I enjoyed this interview.

The crazy thing for me as a non American viewer is that after perusing numerous news outlets I tend to come for serious news on US topics to comedy shows like this. News, information and interviews value seems to be higher than serious news shows with addition of some humour…

This is the 1st interview like this that I've seen with Andy Kim. I really like him. If I were in NJ, he'd definitely get my vote. Vote Blue!!!!
We do have a high distrust for politicians. When you get caught with foreign gold and have turncoats like Jeff Van Drew will definitely sway you to not have faith. Our politics are in a sad state right now but I believe we’ll elect more Kim’s and hopefully right the ship.

Representative Andy Kim was very BRAVE to go on your show & he definitely kept up with the barbs & humor as well as answering the questions with common sense and intelligence.
I was (incredibly) able to intern with Kim when I was in college. He has some amazing stories about his time at Deep Springs College and having traversed America with his friend until their car broke down. I really hope he becomes Senate Majority Leader, Governor, or President one day. His loyalty to our district and to his values is amazing; he'll even do town halls in the heavily Republican areas of our district.
