Cold morning speed rope flow training

  • Early spring morning. Frost covering grass after a cold night. First sun rays touch my skin. My first moves feel clumsy and cold is penetrating my body. I exhale and ignite my spinal engine. The rope starts flowing and the speed increases immensely. I need to pick up the pace or in another case, I will burn my lungs. From the sound rope makes I feel like I am in a beehive.
    First locomotion steps and I am in the zone. I feel the sun, and cold is fading. The Shadow side is already lit. The engine room is hot and even then I stop, nothing changes. From toes to fingers I’m in sync and few mistakes don’t stop me to play my shadow fight. I am strong and powerful. I am one with space, united through spirals. Mind and body connected.
    In a little while, I start sensing my energy is dissipating and my flow starts to slow down. Slower flow opens more options to move. I start adding more complex moves and keep flowing endlessly until the first mistake that stops the flow.
    Photo time begins. I keep flowing, creating combos until I find one that I would like to catch on camera. I am playing with my favorite tool, so time is nonexistent. Until we notice that lighting has changed. 50 minutes have passed. Thermometer shows minus 7 degrees Celcius. I feel warm and tanned.
    I am happy and feel strongly that I didn’t felt cold or tired. Until noon comes and morning glory fades. I start feeling super week and my vision starts to get blurry. I keep walking and the minute I get a chance to lie down, I fall asleep. Giedre wakes me up and calls to go eat lunch.
    Post lunch I sense my energy is returning. All scary shit fades and I start to feel even better after ice cream. I was so tired post morning session, that I didn’t eat as much food as I should. At least I needed to eat a few spoons of sugar, but I didn’t know that I can be that exhausted. I kept recovering until the next day.
    This was the hardest training session I had. Maybe because it struck me unprepared? I don’t know, but I would definitely repeat it. From experiences, we learn. Cold is a wonderful thing and we will become friends.
    Stay strong, stay healthy and roll ropes.

    Does ropeflow improve your physique? Specifically, does it cause hypertrophy?

    • @rokasmove
      @rokasmove  Před 5 měsíci +1

      It will depend on the rope and how you roll it. I wouldn't pick it as primary training especially if your goal is hypertrophy.
      For maintaining gains, rope flow is a one of the greatest tools, because you get stimulation in whole body and lymphatic system.
      If you training for hypertrophy, strength training is number one choice. Add rope flow for mobility work and recovery + coordination and body education how to utilise strength as efficient as possible for greater results.

    I would like to learn a pattern like you, I can see overhand sneaks, dragon rolls etc... Would you able to name the pattern or is just random flowing

    • @rokasmove
      @rokasmove  Před 2 lety

      All flows are a combination of basic patterns combined with extra layers such as spin or so. I basically pick up something I like and repeat it. Most of the time that picks comes from a free flow

    • @georgehorlock
      @georgehorlock Před 4 lety +5

      It's extremely difficult and works all your muscles. Some ropes are light, others heavy. Definitely recommend it.

    • @loriejo67
      @loriejo67 Před rokem

      It's actually one of the best workouts. It works every muscle, protects your joints because it moves them and keeps them fluid but is low impact. It's very organic, as opposed to the robotic movements of weight lifting and so the strength built from weighted ropes and aur resistance is more powerful. It's cardio as well. I've never seen anything like it. It's amazing.
