    You were like a kid in a candy store today! 🍭🍭🍭 Beautiful cowries, beautiful spanglers, and a beautiful hairy triton! 🤩 I have three favorites… ❤ the Australian rock whelk, the volute and the orange drupe. 🍊 I’m so partial to the drupe family! Great episode Maddie! Don’t knock the minis cause I love those too! 🥰🥰🥰

      G'day Pam 👋🏻💖 I really was spoiled for shell finds this time 🤩 I rarely built up that kind of momentum with back to back find unless I'm at Hervey Bay! I really did pick the right time; and now, it's all high tides during the day for the next few weeks 😅 so this really was the best time to find these untouched goodies! The Spengler's Trumpets (especially the large one) were just lovely today, and goodness, the Aussie Rock Whelk and Giant Hairy Triton are going to clean up so well! Oh gosh, a few people have mentioned liking that Orange Drupe today; I really wish I gave it just a few more seconds of screen time 🤣 oopsie! Aww Pam, you know I love the minis too, but finding the big 'uns like this was a nice change of pace 😀 I do probably love the minis more though; more colourful and easier to shore 🐚😁 Thanks for watching 🥰

      G’day Jas 👋🏻🎉 Oh my goodness, thank you so much for the Super Thanks 🙏🏻 this is my first one ever!! I really appreciate the support and kindness; you’ve gone the extra mile (*ahem, kilometre) for me 💖 I’m grilled that you enjoyed the adventure…for this one; I was quite excited by the shell finds, and when I watched the video back I was like “uhhh, am I talking too fast? I think I’m talking too fast 🤣” and by the way, yes, I do have lucky pants! The lucky ones are the pair that fit the best after losing some weight, but they also have a giant rip in the middle! Extra shelling luck, but a bit of social embarrassment 😂 Haha, my motto is to just ignore everyone else sometimes 😆 it worked this time though, I can’t wait to clean up that Giant Hairy Triton and large Lace Coral in particular 🐌🐚 Once again Jas, thank you so much for the support, and thank you so much for watching 🥰

    The caurica cowrie is the prettiest one I have ever seen of that species! Lots of fantastic finds, you always find something different! Love the volute and the *perfect* hairy triton too! Really hard to pick a favorite. You really have an eye for collecting, Maddie, I always enjoy your videos!

    • @SandCoffeeRocks
      @SandCoffeeRocks  Před 7 měsíci

      G'day my fellow shell collector 👋🏻🐚 The Caurica was surprisingly beautiful, right?!! I mean, the top pattern on it has obviously worn off, but it still has a nice shape and beautiful striking patterns underneath without calcification on it 😲 it made the shell look really cool just the way it is! It honestly looks like different shell entirely! The Magnificent Volute was a fun find; I don't find many in nice condition like that. The Giant Hairy Triton will clean up very nicely, I'm sure, and I can't wait to see how the shell looks under all of that hair 🤩 I wonder if it will have black stripes like my last one, or if it'll be a solid brown like the typical ones of this species 🐚 ahhh, I'm nerding out about shells 🤣 Thank you so much for watching this big adventure today 🥰

      G'day Hilary 👋🏻🏖️ It was a fantastic haul, I was so excited to find such nice shells back to back to back! I don't usually build up momentum like that at this beach (maybe I'm too picky?) unlike the beaches at Hervey Bay. Oh gosh, that Volute is really cool with the big break. A lot of collectors don't like shells with healed scars like that, but I think it's really cool in this case!! Thanks for watching 🥰

    Oh my word how stunning. Wow, what beauties. 🎉
    I'm so glad you found the gorgeous Volute. Now I know what the shell's name is. 😂 I live in Germany and since we don't have shells on our beaches, I go shell hunting at charity shops and fleamarkets. I buy the shells that people don't want anymore. 😂 A girl has goto do what a girl has got to do. 😅🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚🐚 Enjoy your finds.

    • @SandCoffeeRocks
      @SandCoffeeRocks  Před 7 měsíci

      G'day Janine 🐚 Wow, guten tag to you in Germany (that's all the German language that I know😂)! I'm so glad that you like this video, it was a particularly lucky day in he rock pools. That volute was also a particularly nice one, and I'm glad that I could give you a name for it. A lot of volutes look pretty similar, but this one is actually a juvenile; an adult Magnificent Volute can grow VERY large (30cm long, or more)! I looked up shells in German and yep, there is not much to find at your beaches or wetlands. I love that you find your shells in the charity stores; I often hear from viewers in the USA that look in their thrift stores too; there is a lot of great shells to find in those places!! Anyhoo, thank you so, so much for watching ❤

    Hi 👋🏼 Maddie!! The Australian Rock Welk is my favorite 😍 The shape of it is what caught my eye 👁️ 😮 The magnificent volute is my second pick! Very nice. The giant hairy triton takes 3rd!! Shoutout to the orange drupe, I just love them!! Thanks Maddie! TTFN 👋🏼 ❤

      G'day Mimi 👋🏻💖 Oh wow, the Australian Rock Whelk is the favourite this time! It's a wonderful shell; maybe one day I will go to a beach in the neighbouring southern states and find them more commonly 🤔 but that might be far into the future 😂 the Magnificent Volute from this one is wonderful too... Now I just need to find where I put it, I've been wondering if I left it at the beach, but that can't be right 😆 it's probably sitting in the bottom of my cleaning bucket, and I've overlooked it. Anyway!! Thank you so, so much for watching 🥰

The Magnificent Volute is a goodie; I can't believe how intact it is considering how rough the waves had been lately. That Hairy Triton, my goodness, even the live one didn't look as nice as this empty one! The colours on the inside are just stunning. As always, thank you so much for watching 🥰 I'm sending warm thoughts to your chilly party of the world ❄️

In retrospect, I should have tried digging around the sand in that spot, it seems like a few nice shell got caught there. Anyway! The Orange Drupe was such a cutie too, I wish I gave it more screen time 🤔 Oh gosh, the cowries were fantastic today as well. Thank you so much for watching 🥰

    Maddie Hello, My favorites are Australian Rock Whelk, Thick Edged Cowrie, Orange Drupe and big piece of Lace Coral. Great hunting. Starting today 20's, teens and single digits this week in PA. But not as cold as -6 in Idaho where Roberta lives. Yikes! I have two super warm coats with big hoods to wear. Bearsy has 3 coats and is warm too. Take care Maddie you and Ninja. Much Love, TRUDY

      @SandCoffeeRocks  Před 7 měsíci +1

      G'day Trudy 👋🏻💖 Oh wow, I managed to find a lot of favourites for you to pick this time!! The Australian Rock Whelk is definitely the best I've found (despite the broken tip, which I'm considering "repairing" with putty or oven bake clay?), and the worn Thick-edged Cowrie is surprisingly lovely too! It was a great Orange Drupe this time, and the lace coral, wow, I might do a bleach bathing Short for that one to see the colour change 🤩 Oh wow, it's so, so cold in PA!!! I did hear about snow storms there, I do hope you're keeping safe. I'm glad you've got those warm coats for everyone at home...I imagine you'll need them! At least you can make a snow man though, or maybe it's too wet for that ❄️🌨️? Take care too, and thank you so much for watching 🥰

      @@SandCoffeeRocks Hey Maddie, Yes, a wonderful video for sure. We got 4 inches of snow this morn. Very hard on Bearsy. Had to make a long snow shovel trail for him. Chris came and did drive and sidewalk. Hope all your viewers had better weather except Idaho. Take care. XXOO. TRUDY

      Oh my goodness, poor Bearsy! His little legs aren't long enough for that much snow!! It was very good of Chris to come and do your driveway and side walk. As for the rest of my viewers, I think the majority if them live in the Northern Hemisphere, so they're plenty cold too 🥶 but hopefully not snowed-in as much 😅

The Orange Drupe is a goodie too, a lot of people liked it this time, and I can't help by regret that I didn't give it a little more screen time to really look at it 😅 oh well! Hi, Maddie what a wonderful day shelling! I'm going withe orange drupe, and the juvenile Arabian. Of course the magnificent volute is very cool. You just had a great day. It's minus 6 degrees here in Idaho this morning and yes it's very cold. My poor chickens and ducks 😩. Thank you for making me feel warm for a few minutes 😂. You really did have a good day shelling. G'day Roberta 👋🏻💖 I'm so glad that you enjoyed the shells this time, the drupe and Volute were so cool this time!! I have missed the cowries too 😉 but ahhh, the tides have not been kind to me, and they won't be good for the rock pools for the next few weeks unless I go at night or, you know, 3AM, so uhh, it's back to Hervey Bay for next time 😅🤣 I promise I have some goodies to show. Oh sheesh, wow, you can keep that cold weather 🥶 I like winter, but a Queensland winter is a lot warmer than an Idaho one... It never gets below 40F here 🏖️ keep you poor chicken and duckies nice and warm, oh gosh, the poor babies!!! Sending warm thoughts your way, Roberta 🥰

      G'day Mikhail 👋🏻🐌 I was super lucky 🤩 I went back the next day, and all of these rock pools were covered in seafoam again 😭 so this was the best day to find the shells that no one could have seen yet! The little drupa was a nice shell, I wish I showed it for longer in the episode 🤣 I was talking way too fast this time: the excitement does that to me! @mikhail-tikhonov Před 7 měsíci +1

      @@SandCoffeeRocks G'day Maddie 😊👋 Oh yes, this drupa is very bright and beautiful🤗, they are not always so beautiful. Oh, so sometimes the sea foam hides the shore, I somehow didn’t think about that. And now it’s snowing outside our window🙂❄❄❄

    • @SandCoffeeRocks
      @SandCoffeeRocks  Před 7 měsíci +1

      The drupa looks the best because it is wet in the video; it will turn more white when it dries... Drupa shells usually need a lot of mineral oil on them because they are thirsty shells! Ahhh yes, when the waves are rough and the windy is strong, the water will whip up into a foam and completely hide the rock pools. It's gross to touch, and it's not easy to move. The water under it is usually very dirty as well, so it's not easy to look at for shells. Oh, but it's better than snow ❄️ stay warm, Mikhail!!
