FKA Twigs is such a beautiful person. I was so saddened by this news. My heart goes out to anyone who has gone through any sort of abuse.
As an image on a photo, yes. But as woman you're in a relationship with, she's probably the worst example of a woman to be in a relationship with. There isn't enough money in the world to make me think about being in a relationship with her.
Do you fucking know her?😂
As a survivor of domestic abuse I find your sanity so refreshing
I was thinking the same
I don't like saying I am a survivor of it beacuse well I am man but I was abused. He still is refreshing to hear.

"You get what you give...if you build love by giving love; it'll come back 10 mutha-fuckin' fold" words of wisdom from Bruce Rivers...awesome!!! Love it :3
I'll drink to that 👍
Unfortunately, in a world filled with Cluster B types, it isn't always the case. But it's obvious that giving love is the only right way to live.
This is such good advice. Sure, what you give might not come back from everyone, but the people you do resonate with become steadfast supporters. When the going gets tough, that will be worth far more than tenfold
@@bobtaylor170 not all Cluster Bs are bad. That a pretty shitty generalization

This behaviour is usually fueled by a lack of decency, not by drugs or external circumstances. It's a big problem for me that we are willing to let people dump their responsibility for their own behaviour on substances.
Amen!
Right! My abusive ex didn't drink or do drugs. He was just a horribly abusive narcissist.
True! I wanted Bruce to add "and a lack of humanity/decency" when he said drugs and alcohol. I mean substances just lower your ability to mask who you really are
Agreed. The circumstances are sometimes uncontrollable, but the behavior and response always is.
i think the celebrity status is the main issue. dude just is not in touch with reality. he can be anything and he can do anything.
I really like how you push for holding people accountable while simultaneously recognizing that we still have to give people room to grow.
"That woman", i cant roll my eyes hard enough
Same!
Oh shut up miss perfect
as a woman, bruce's comments on this was deeply therapeutic to watch. so many men indulge in this pattern of denial. other men get it - thank you bruce!
Shia is an angry man, still.
It's not just men, it's abusers period. Abusers always feel they are somehow ok with their behavior. Treat someone with how you want to be treated...
I had a bad temper as a young man. Quite a long fuse but like a volcano when it erupted. However I never applied violence. My mechanism was to go out and walk and walk and walk until I calmed down. My worst one - and I think my last - I walked for several miles before I finally and fully calmed down and it was raining. I then had to turn around and walk all the way back as I had no wallet or phone on me.
By the time I got back I could not have had a more different perspective. The argument that caused the temper was ridiculous. I was able to apologise as did my wife - because we both had responsibility for being stupid - who had been a bit worried because I had ended up being gone nearly 4 hours. We had a laugh about how far I had actually walked to.

Once again proven why I love watching Bruce. He really, truly gets it. I'm so happy for his clients honestly 😂
@Madenique Van Wyk. He truly does! Shia is not taking full responsibility, probably and narcissist. The good thing is she'll be able to use this in court! She didn't want to bring this to court she gave him a chance and told him to go into a program Etc but he didn't. So he knows that this is not going to go well in court. He was specific about certain things, don't matter; because he tried to kill her or at least he strangled her for a while! He is getting in front of the perception of his image! Because now he can go back and say I admitted I was a bad person! Narcissist and a smart one! Bruce sees through all of this nonsense! My mother, was a emotional abusive narcissist and she was like that, with her husband. My father, her ex-husband was a male chauvinist narcissist! So, I was trapped and I see these people everyday in my life, not my parents, narcissist and on TV, politics media entertainment Etc the most!
@@wildflowersun8795 I'm so sorry you had to go through that, especially in your close family :( I know soo many people who've also had to deal with narcissists and manipulators in their life, and they can always so easily spot people like this. I just wish more people knew or listened, so that they wouldn't hurt people anymore 😡
@@madeniquevanwyk thank you and I'm so happy that you are supportive of people not only women that have gone through these types of situations. I am a woman but I also saw another woman abuse ,whom I considered my dad even though he was my stepfather. Because he was nicer to me than my biological father. Different color, religion it didn't matter he was a gentle spirit and my mother broke him! This is why I can see the ugly in all people. Race does not matter, religion does not matter, sex or gender, money does not matter it is always the character that matters!
LaBeouf needs to grow up quite a bit before "he's not that guy".
FKA twigs didn’t want to file the lawsuit, she wanted him to donate to the charity that helped her to get out of the abusive situation and she asked him to seek help privately. He refused, and after a time she filed the lawsuit. Which makes this whole interview complete bs. Hope you see this Bruce I think it’s a very important detail. Twigs also did an interview that was very eye opening. Thanks for your videos
Even the fact that he is denying her lawsuit publicly means be doesn't care
I love your talks when it comes to how a real man should act. Thank you. There are women just as bad. I don't hear this guy actually say "I'm sorry", or "I did this to this person and that was wrong". I applaud him for his sobriety. I don't see it lasting. He's just taken on a new role. I didn't hear him say " I laid hands on my girlfriend and that was wrong". And the true accountability "I am very sorry for hurting my girlfriend". There shouldn't be any excuses.
Him throwing shade at JD is bs! JD is innocent this guy is NOT! He's behaving the same way in this interview that he does/did in his films. No accountability just like AH. Thank YOU though for your honesty and shooting straight.
Listening to him I actually thought he and Amber Heard should get together. Maybe save the world from the likes of either of them.
Exactly. JD had every right to clear his name and expose Amber Turd's lies. But this guy was the Turd in his relationship. You're right.
If you think JD is completely innocent, I got an investment opportunity to speak to you about. JD laid hands on Amber Heard as well. She is a lunatic and he happens to be believable and charming, but he is not "innocent"... maybe less guilty would be a more apt term.
@@Redsdelight Sometimes people fight back after taking abuse for long periods of time, the situation is just so much of a mess, he said she said.
@@Redsdelight JD owned his mistakes. I Do Not believe he" laid hands her". It's not in his nature. He could barely get a word in edgewise verbally much less lash out the way she claimed. And PS nobody who has been abused taunts their abuser the way she did....or weren't you paying attention. Face it shes a sociopathic liar.. Please do us all a favor and dont even try to compare these 2. So maybe I'll take you up on that investment
The details do matter for the victim! They relive it everyday. Thank you for saying that. Bruce thank you for being you!
Taken out of context. Shia was saying the details don't matter because he's accepting he was in the wrong and he has no excuses for his behavior. Still an awful person but this was a great apology

Great commentary Mr. Rivers 🤗. Shia sounds disingenuous, he reminds me of my ex. Eight years ago I was in a violent relationship; I was more afraid of being alone and not being able to support myself than of being punched or kicked or thrown around or being forced to do things. I grew up in foster care, perhaps if I had a supportive family I wouldn't have been so dumb. My friends loved him: he was a good provider, a hard-working professional man, he was so different when we were in public It wasn't until he started to bully my little boy that I knew I couldn't allow him to hurt my baby 😢. I mustered what little courage I had, packed our bags and left with my baby while my ex was at work. I was so scared! My little boy and I couch surfed for a while until I got a job and bought an old car; we lived in my car for 11 months then I was finally able to buy a little trailer where we still live to this day. My son is happy and stable, he's such a good boy! My ex left me with so many fears and traumas... If it wasn't for my little boy I don't think I'd be here, he's my whole life! Anyway, thank you for your words, they're validating and healing🥺. Blessings❤️
Well your "little" courage is making a World of difference. Great choice. Just be stern with him once he becomes a teen. God bless, and good luck in the world.
You are not the only one. It wasn't your fault. ❣
That's what these abusers are good at, being two separate people. Good on you for getting your child out of that. Better to be safe in a trailer than unsafe in a palace. Best wishes for a wonderful future. ❤
@@quiltygal6981 Money isn't everything that's for sure. Been there and I still believe "everything has a way of working itself out, if you let it." Not sure where I read/heard that but it is amazingly true. Just when I start feeling "hopeless" I say it over and over and "get busy" doing whatever I can to solve the problem. It seems to "un-cripple" me.
Holy moly that's insane. Great job on getting out of that situation. I hope you and your son stay safe as you build your new life. 🙏💚♾
The fact that he tried to shade Depp by talking about he wouldn't take the woman to court to humiliate them, when that's the easiest way to prove your innocence. He knows he can't take his claim to court or else he'll lose, that's why he's trying to go the social media route.
Right? If he repeats enough times that he has amends to make and what a bad guy he was - even though he doesn't appear to mean it at all - then people might begin to believe him. Like a frikken politician. As Harrison Ford said "He's a f#cking idiot.'
He forgot to mention JD was the victim not the abuser. Shia is the abuser and he is trying to compare himself to JD.🤔🤦🏼♀️
It feels like he’s researched this lifestyle like he’s researched a role. I’d bet a dollar he’s learned these exact phrases from other people in the men’s group.
That hotel line was so rehearsed, he sounded like he sins't even know what it meant.
He is scripted for sure. And talking about it just a few months before the trial? I am really looking forward to Rivers' take on what happens in April.
I could listen to Bruce all day, every day!!!
Absolutely!
Dude has the nerve to talk about Deep. Not sure if you watch that part since I'm only about 1/4 of the way in. He really thinks they're the same. My wife was in a 10 year long abusive relationships. He's in prison for attempted murder after kicking in both orbitals with steel toe boots and then proceeded to strangle her. This sounds like a boy making excuses for his schoolyard bullying. He can blame ego, drugs, alcohol and whatever other bullshit he has to say. He's an insecure boy that's never once been a man.
He has a ways to go EMOTIONALY. Childhood trauma showing up.
Probably
Maybe bad parenting, not trauma.
Slightly different.
Honestly that was at the back of my mind the entire episode. I watched Even Stevens as a kid, and I can’t help but hold a crumb of sympathy, because a childhood in Hollywood is rarely stable or healthy.
@@tropicalsnow I dunno. I watched Honey Boy when it came out. (It's a very good film actually.) It's obviously impossible for us to know what's true or not in it, but it was based on his own childhood which he wrote to try and get over what he experienced... and it certainly seemed pretty far from just bad parenting.
But tbh that would be beside the point. What we experience as childhood trauma might not sound that bad to others. His sounded horrific. Not that it excuses his actions, but I think there's a lot to be said for him not being able to get over it. He was deprived of his childhood.
@@tropicalsnow bad parenting is trauma ,neither his or their fault...we do what we learned as behavioural..We live in a dysfuntional world..WERE ALL CRACKED POTS,LOOKING FOR PERFECT LIDS..END OF STORY
Love it Bruce. You are right. Now let's see in the long term if he gets busted for doing it again.
He really doesn't accept responsibility but he says basically that JD lied and had to be an abuser because he was and it should have been made public but his abuse is public.
I think he's being hypocritical and needs more time off the streets.
Hopefully his wife will keep herself and the baby safe.
The look on your face when you said "I got news for you...." priceless. Perfect just your look, just too funny and true. Thanks for giving me a funny Friday night on an ugly subject.
I love how Attorney Rivers sees through this guy.
Idk, Shia seems standup. Bruce is wrong on this one. Same about Johnny
@@FrankYammy Really? I don't think he's wrong at all. Also, Shia directly shit on JD while he was talking. Did you miss that part? Someone who is so obviously all about himself trying to sink someone else to make himself look good and seem cool is not someone I'd call "standup". But each to his own, I guess. And Bruce is a JD fan. I don't know how you missed that. He covered the trial at length, openly said he believed JD after reviewing the testimony, and has talked at length about JD being the victim.
@@mellvee Watch Bruces first video about JD, I remember it vividly as I thought it was weird how Bruce was saying it wouldn’t go well for him. That JD is just exposing himself to the public for taking Amber trial. It was only after backlash and some time that Bruce hopped on the bandwagon

A very high paid and clueless PR person convinced him to do this, is my guess.

Damn straight he is!!
Blicky Bruce won another trial. Shocking. 😂 🐐
I used to enjoy watching his movies. Looking at him in this interview he comes across as cold & emotionless. It’s like a scripted act to clean up his image. Sounds like a damn manipulator to me
Yes, coming from an actual actor it's hard to believe he's not just acting.
Amen to that!
I'm not a huge Shia fan, but did you actually watch the interview or just these clips? He got emotional and teared up several times, one of those times he tried to talk through it but you could tell.
I saw the full interview, not just the clips. It seemed sincere. People are told that they have to take the steps to improve, make changes, and then take responsibility and then they aren't allowed the grace to do it without comments of insincerity. What he did is inexcusable, but its not irredeemable.
Watching this clip by clip like Bruce is doing kind of makes almost every comment go out-of context.
Again, not really a Shia fan, but he deserves the grace to be allowed to change his life, until he proves that he hasn't.
I want to make it clear, i don't condone what he did in the past. If it comes out that he abused his wife, then fuck him.
@@Redsdelight cool thanks for letting us know
@@therealshevyb I'll say you're welcome with an equally sarcastic tone. Have a nice day.
My nephew was crying because my sister in law scolded him for hitting her and throwing a tantrum. My brother comforted him and asked “Did mom make you angry?” I immediately took him on. It is good to acknowledge a child’s emotions and find out why they are crying and feeling frustrated. But nobody MAKES you angry. You GET angry. It is your choice to react and how you react to other people. We all get angry, but we manage the anger. Do not teach your children this. They will never learn to take responsibility.
It is a big thing in DV that the perpetrator accuses the victim of making them do it. It is all their fault. I grew up in a DV home and that is what my father always said.
Apparently Tom Hardy decked him on the set of Lawless. He's lucky he still has brain function.

The kind of transformation Shia is attempting takes years of hard work and accountability. Only time will tell if he really has it in him to change. If he can stay the course, he may be able to, but its much too early to declare him reformed. Excellent commentary Bruce!
Yet if he is a Narcissist?he will never feel anything but self pity .
It definitely takes years of hard work, therapy, psychotherapy and much more. He claimed he made all these changes, but it’s only been like 2 years. It takes so much more than that to overcome these patterns.
“Let’s hope that what he says is sincere-You can tell he’s a narcissist.”

I love that you’re so real and true to who you are, and also a very successful attorney, Bruce! You call out bad behavior and it’s really healthy for people like me - who never learned important boundaries - to see! It’s also a reminder that many men would never find this behavior acceptable! Sadly, sometimes you can get a little isolated and lost in patterns that make you forget you’re worthy and lovable. This was honestly triggering for me, as I’m a survivor. Most of the abuse I’ve experienced is from narcissistic men. Shia LaBeouf is pretty classic NPD. It’s pathological.
I find it disturbing how wildly out of touch with reality he is, how little accountability he takes, how self-important he is. I was raised by an alcoholic with NPD and didn’t really know any different, so continued the cycle in my relationships until fairly recently, unfortunately.
When Shia LaBeouf said, “I’m willing to eviscerate myself and emasculate myself,” I wanted to vomit. For what? Shamelessly talking about his history of battering women physically? But only the little bits he wants to, not the real terror and anxiety that comes with being a victim and becoming a shell of who you once were?? Uhhh, does he want an applause for choosing to be human?
Shia LaBeouf was an emotional abuser too, something he didn’t address and maybe it’s better that way…. He doesn’t need to awaken all of our personal traumas. The truth of the matter is he will never know the irreversible harm and destruction he has caused… the brain chemistry he has changed. To me, he’s still a black hole inside, a fragile ego too afraid to really dig deep within and know himself because it’s too painful. Sadly, he’s also a product of trauma.
His comment about taking her to court was a dig at Depp in my opinion. He’s an a hole lol

Great analysis Bruce, no time for the BS. Shia was quick to throw JD under the bus, and he didn't put hands on an abusive woman. He is being brought to account by FKA Twigs not deciding to do it off his own back, and even at that he claims to have receipts. Shia is not very contrite and this whole conversation he was talking himself up.
Great commentary, I'd love to see Bruce question Shia on the stand and cut right through any bs! Just feel the need to point out that cold sores can easily be passed from mother to son by appropriate physical affection and/or contact - no incest is necessary 😝

"Ego death" is a term often used to describe a breakthrough experience with psychedelic medicines/drugs. Often useful for psychological/behavioral issues, including harmful addictions, PTSD, and depression. He described her as a sage and said that she provided him with the means to experience the ego death. I'm guessing she guided him through psychedelic therapy with something like LSD, mushrooms, or MDMA--likely resulting in his cathartic self analysis and public acceptance.

Abusers love to apologize (not always for what they did though), playing victim to gain sympathy and seem harmless. It literally one of the steps of the Cycle of Abuse: Escalate - Abuse - Apologize - Repeat.
Im so glad I never took back my abuser. Now I know what it sounds like to hear what I thought I wanted to hear from him, from someone else who is obviously fake, its relieving. A little voice in me at times sneaks in a says "maybe he changed". Maybe. But. Excellent vid Bruce. I am not familiar with this actor's movies, but after watching his interview, I found him to be a scary individual. I cannot imagine ever wanting to be in his presence.
"Hands on a woman" is code for minimizing a heartfelt, on-going intent to humiliate her any and every chance possible. Owning the articulated behavior by naming each move with mature description is THE way to tell yourself I am changing my ways one step at a time. Self snitching is highly appropriate when ending the cycle of domestic violence that has become your way of life.
Great video

Honestly great!! Your genuine connection with Humanity rings true in your analysis--which makes your perspective meaningful & helpful! Thank you!
I’m not actually getting a lot of accountability from him. He uses a lot of distancing language. A lot of things that remove him from his actions and from the person and we typically do that when we don’t want to be associated with what we’ve done or what’s happened. I think he’s taken in a lot of info, he’s been very analytical of it, but he’s not letting it touch himself emotionally. He’s not holding empathy. He hasn’t learned in the ways he needs to in order for him to deeply change.

Congrats on your win :)
Love love e Mr Rivers...sleek lawyer💯🇿🇦❤️
Ugh, he’s so gross. So much distancing! “That woman”?! Sheesh. Great react Bruce ❤️
Sounds like he’s comparing himself to Johnny Depp.. the main problem with that is he admitted to abusing his partner, Johnny was accused! That’s why he went to court to prove his innocence!
Thank you 🙏🏼. I’m in AA 37yrs sober. He’s full of shit!
I can’t wait to watch this🍿
Truly one of the best to ever do and for sure the best creator in the legal space on yt a lot more relatable then legal eagle while that guy is extremely good Bruce seems like the uncle you always look forward to seeing at the reunion
I am so interested in your opinion. You are a real man and I love how to the point your views are. You have my respect and I love to hear your take on these topics. Be safe.
Good commentary
I'd love to hear a body language analysis take on this
Edit: just to see if he meant even one word of anything he said about taking accountability or if he was trying to method act this whole thing
Great idea. We should ask the behaviour panel to do it
@@lyndyloo675 He is just "all about me." This interview is just foolish. His voice is just plain angry.
@@joannholmes8726 I watched this interview a week or so ago and I wanted to punch him lol.
@@joannholmes8726 that's the behavior of a#NarcissistAtWork. He wants to be in control of the situation and the relationship which is why all his previous relationships have failed including his most recent one with this chick who's accusing him of domestic violence 🤔. I'm not a fan of this guy but I feel sorry for him 😐. That being said I'm not defending him nor is he my cup of tea but he's been traumatized by all the abuse he suffered as a child. I wouldn't want to be in his shoes let alone want anyone to look up to him. He's a bum and a loser who beats up women and who can't get a girlfriend to stay for long cause he's too much of a narcissist who hits women 👀😐. He's a loser even with his celebrity status. That's how I view women beaters/narcissists. I don't like his acting whatsoever. #JohnnyDepp's a true movie 🎥 🌟 star. This guy just reminds me of #lint from a dirty pile of clothes that was all of a sudden put inside a washing machine then taken out of the washing machine and set to dry in the dryer.
@@eddypuentes6155 Yes indeed. The statement that he can't talk openly with a "woman in the room" speaks to the fact that he is no where near to being healed and he is still mad that he needs to "make amends." There is no "humble" as Johnnie Depp shows in ANY room he is in.
